Published by Rowena Harper (A0.762502). As cute as a bugs ear, this ultra-happy Christmas ditty by Sia is a true joy. Every theme seems unusually familiar, and they are presented by the lead one at a time, excepting the colour theme which is taken by the basses. The four themes are then masterfully woven together in counterpoint in the last stretch of the arrangement. The tenors have the final post whilst the leads finish their theme and the baritones noodle around them, concluding with a very jazzy, very christmassy baritone solo to polish the arrangement off. This is a fabulous song by Pentatonix which I have arranged for four-part (SSAA) a cappella voices, although sometimes the voice parts split. It can be sung with or without the body percussion as I know it's sometimes difficult to do both at the same time!Whilst in the original Pentatonix song, Scott Hoying has most of the solos, I have arranged this so that all voices get the chance to sing the main melody. The bass part is not the most interesting(!) as the whole song is built over a repeating two-bar phrase (four chords). However, in this arrangement, I have managed to give them the main melody at bar 30 and at bar 61 they are the only voice-part to sing Mitch's parting tune - it's the basses' time to shine!I have two versions of this song available. The other version (Product Number 1355563) is easier to sing. If you want a challenge, this is the version you should try! It's as close as I could get to the original.

Beginning in a childlike, sing-song style to set up the make-believe theme, this arrangement is full of beautiful chords and my most-often signature, a modulation. Though I hear this as a quartet arrangement, I think it can be used as a Chorus arrangement. I recommend that in the Intro, in the Bari part, where they have the repeated notes and the one note that goes up a third, keep the upper note at the same mental level as the repeated notes, so there's not a note note note note SKIP, rather note note note note skip. I know directors know that, but, I'm a control freak and love to develop the beauty of music. ALSO, at mm 11 and 19, I give the low note to the Basses, for smooth flow of voices. This is a fun piece and I hope you will try it.
