This is a tuneful and attractive setting of words by Danny Alorean, looking at the town of Bethlehem through the eyes of travelers who are going to see the child Jesus. The main melody is set is 8/8 time which naturally divides into groups of 3+2+3. The middle section is at first contrapuntal then more lyrical and in 4/4. It is more suitable for experienced singers. The work is scored for SAT choir with keyboard accompaniment which makes it ideal for high school and college choirs with no bass section. There are no divisi sections, but several opportunities for optional solos and the piano part is of medium difficulty but could be managed by any competent pianist. This piece would be ideal for a Christmas concert or part of a Christmas service. The vocal ranges are as follows: Soprano C4-G5; Alto A3-D4; Tenor C3-F4. The main theme is in 5/4 time (which is easier to read than some singers might imagine) and an extended middle section is in 3/2 and later 3/4. Although the piece is tonal, there’s some chromatic writing making this setting appropriate for more experienced groups of singers. The anthem contains a short a cappella section. The SAT voicing makes this arrangement suitable for competent high school or college choirs that have no bass singers. There is a short divisi section in the Soprano part. Voice ranges are as follows: Soprano D4-G5; Alto B3-D5; Tenor D3-F4.The piano part is of moderate difficulty but could be handled by any competent pianist. The anthem would make an excellent addition to any Christmas concert, Christmas service or Nativity event. Then the ALTO 2's join for the conclusion of the first verse. The song begins in the key of E major and then for the third and final verse transitions to the key of F major during a short piano interlude.

Published by Celine Tsoi (A0.1011599). Tu te Rappelles? , meaning ‘do you remember?’, depicts the love of a girl to her partner. She reminiscences about her past memories with him and in the climax, she proclaims her love for him as she is soon to leave his side. This combination, an SSA choir with violin and piano, is chosen for it captures the character of a female speaker, and the piano adds depth to the piece but still keeps the gentleness of the message. The bright timbre of the violin as well as the use of D major is to convey positivity: this is not a sad piece. This speaker looks forward to the future and treasures their past moments together. This piece is in verse-chorus form. The chorus, starting from ‘Je t’aimerai’, and followed by ‘Jusqu’a...’ repeats three times before arriving at the final climax in A major. In between the second chorus and the third chorus, a transitional section, in F# minor, is added. This section, as it is about her difficult decision to leave, is stronger and faster than other sections. The original lyrics are inspired by a famous TV show, Game of Thrones , in which a character says the lyrics in the chorus. Different techniques are used to bring out the message in the lyrics, such as word-painting, use of harmony and instruments, and key changes. Parting is inevitable in any relationship. I hope this piece can describe some emotions and thoughts in the face of parting and can echo among not only lovers but families and friends as well.

Great for choirs low on male voices. Performance: I wrote this piece as the finale to The Father Sent the Son, a cantata I wrote for one of my church choirs. The last theme in this piece is a reprise of the title music. I was thinking of the shepherds running to tell their neighbors what they had seen that wonderful night in Bethlehem. Avoid singing with a heavy tone. There should be buoyancy in the tone and in the diction. The tempo is fast a mm140, but it works if you pianist can handle it. I have done it at mm132 on more than occasion for a piano player's sake. It still worked okay, but if you can manage 140,do it. Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is the most common English title of a piece of music derived from a chorale setting of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben, BWV 147 (Heart and Mouth and Deed and Life), composed by Johann Sebastian Bach in 1723. The English version of the piece was written by the poet laureate Robert Bridges. It is not a translation of the stanzas used within Bach's original version, but is inspired by stanzas of the same hymn that Bach had drawn upon: Jesu, meiner Seelen Wonne, the lyrics of which were written in 1661 by Martin Janus (or Jahn), and which was sung to Johann Schop's 1642 Werde munter, mein Gemüte hymn tune.It is often performed slowly and reverently at wedding ceremonies, as well as during Christian festive seasons like Christmas and Easter. This arrangement is a shortened version of the piece, now slightly longer than 2 minutes -- which is perfect for wedding/Mass entrance. Written in British Contemporary style mixing the traditional Christmas Liturgy with English text this Mass starts with a low key Kyrie, before moving through an uplifting Gloria, to a slower Credo, a faster paced Holy, Holy and finally easing into a beautiful warm slow Sanctus to round the piece off. This will challenge your choir and provide them with a beautiful alternative to traditional masses. About 8 mins in length it fits comfortably with your Christmas repertoire. It will provide a challenge but is possible with a good community choir which was who it was performed with originally. Although utilising Christian Liturgy it is suitable for any Christmas concert and will be a worthy addition for any choir or choral group.
