This easy-to-rehearse, highly singable anthem is ideal for recognizing the beginning of or transition to a new ministry, or acknowledging God's goodness and providence in times of trial or need.Be Strong and of Good Courage is based on King David's words as he announced to his son, Solomon, that the task of building the house for the ark of the covenant would be his: “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God, my God, will be with thee. He will not leave thee nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord. (I Chronicles 28:20). In addition, it includes a complementary passage, paraphrased, from the prophet Isaiah: Fear not, for he is with thee; be not dismayed, for he is thy God. He will strengthen thee, he will help thee; he will uphold thee with his righteous right hand. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.VMS154). 6.75 x 10.5 in inches.Judson Wheeler Van DeVenter was born near Dundee, Michigan, on December 5, 1855. Trained as an artist, he became an art teacher and later supervisor of art education in the public schools of Sharon, Pennsylvania. An active layman in the Methodist-Episcopal church, DeVenter showed particular skills during annual evangelistic meetings held by the church. Church members urged him to become an evangelist, and after five years of wavering between ministry and his desire to be recognized as an artist, he committed his life to one of evangelism.DeVenter travelled extensively throughout the United States, England, and Scotland, assisted by the singer Winfield Weeden. Although an active hymn-writer, only two hymns remain popular today, one of which is I Surrender All. Given the nature of his call and commitment to ministry, the text of this hymn gains deeper significance.

I Still Call Australia Home was written, first performed and recorded by Peter Allen in 1980. In that year the song peaked on the Australian Singles Chart at number 72. But whilst its initial impact was somewhat less than stellar, it has gone on to become one of those songs that is part of the national psyche and is well-known by most Australians.In I still Call Australia Home Peter Allen wrote of his longing, no matter where in the World he might travel, to always return home to Australia, where he could be near his family and friends once again. The song is now regarded as a heart-warming expression of Australian patriotism and nostalgia for home.Its adoption by Qantas in the mid 1990s as the centrepiece of a long-running advertising campaign exposed a new generation of Australians to the song and greatly boosted its popularity. The Qantas campaign became one of the top Australian television campaigns of all time. It has linked together Australians living at home with those travelling or living overseas. Beginning with a number of well-known Australian musicians, the campaign went on to become associated with the Australian Girls Choir, the National Boys Choir and the Gondwana National Indigenous Children’s Choir.The song has featured in television programs, benefit concerts, sporting event ceremonies, and was included in the musical, The Boy From Oz, which starred Todd McKenney as Peter Allen in the Australian production and Hugh Jackman in the title role when the musical transferred to Broadway.This arrangement, with piano accompaniment, is available in SATB, SSA, SAB and 2-Part voicings.

It is suitable for concert and liturgical use, and may be sung by adult or children's choir.Johnny Edwards is presently the Director of Choral Activities at Newton High School in Covington, Ga. As a veteran teacher of 19 years, he has enjoyed the opportunity of teaching at both the Middle and High School levels and composing for all of his groups. He also serves as the Minister of Music of Children at the Berean Christian Church in Stone Mountain. He obtained his Bachelors of Music Education degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University and his Masters of Music Education degree in Choral Conducting from Georgia College and State University. His other musical achievements include arranging music for the 1996 Closing Ceremonies for the Summer Olympics and for the grand champion of the Savannah Onstage National Singing Competition. He has worked as music director for several musicals, which include The Wiz, Annie, Oliver, Anne of Green Gables, Rent, and several others. This arrangement is for SSA and Piano, and sits at a easy-medium difficulty level for high school groups, but this is a certainly possible piece for middle school groups as well.This arrangement features a soloist in the first verse with hums and 'oo's in the background; the chorus is sung by all voices in 3-part harmony. All voices get the melody on multiple occasions during the piece. Additionally, this arrangement features a unique canon effect between verses one and two, where each voice gets a turn to 'oo' the first four notes of the main melody (B4-C5-E4-G4) before going to other harmonies. It is designed to be the connective tissue between the sorrowful nature of Good Friday and the excited happiness of Easter morning! It tells of the opening of the grave and the realization that He is Risen! The choral parts are set as more of a duet/accompaniment to the cello, rather than the central focus, so make sure the cello is the star in this wonderful feature. There are also transpositions of the solo part for Violin and Viola included.
