Half the words are in English and half in Spanish, but there is no doubt that 'Feliz Navidad' means 'Happy Christmas'. It is just over a minute long, so can be conveniently added to any programe.

It features George Benson and the Count Basie orchestra.George Benson is known as a world-famous singer, songwriter and guitarist. It is fun and catchy and features a Vocal Percussion part (Beatboxing).VOCAL LAYOUT:The melody, or lead line, is divided amongst the vocal parts to give variety. The B.G (background) parts replicate the instrumental accompaniment of the original track, filling out the arrangement and creating the contemporary texture that is at the heart of Pop A Cappella. The Vocal Percussion (Beatboxing) should be a feature, and they provide the arrangement with much of the groove and vibe it needs.The dynamics give an indication which vocal parts should be strongest at any given moment, but changes may need to be made depending on the number / balance of singers, and the strengths of each vocal section. This is a great arrangement for a budding SSA choir or a 2-part choir that wants to try something with a little more challenge.The Ella Fitzgerald solo (which I will link) is one of the best vocal improvisations of the era. The introduction on the recording is not featured here. The piano part will take some practice and will require a comfortable octave reach. History: The Father Sent the Son is the title song of a cantata I composed ten or so years ago for a church choir that could barely muster a men's section. They loved to sing. They rehearsed every Sunday afternoon between services and sang every Sunday morning for worship and often in the evenings. They loved the entire cantata and sang it with enthusiasm. Since that time other choirs have song the cantata, and I have added and subtracted and rewritten through the years. I wanted to get the entire cantata as close to perfection as possible before I published it, but I have decided to publish the portions I am most happy with piecemeal for the time being. When all portions are where I thing they should be, I will publish the entire cantata as one work. Lord willing, of course. Please let me know if you enjoy the music I write. I wrote this SAB arrangement for my mostly freshmen Concert Choir students at Whetstone High School in Columbus, Ohio, including a violin solo (or other C instrument) and piano accompaniment to support the singers. The first three verses are sung, and you'll see some of the words have been edited in order to have a better fit in a public school environment. An excellent choice for middle school or 9th grade choir teachers look to supplement a holiday-themed program. Also very fitting for Advent/Christmas church settings. The violin solo has no bowing or slur marks, and so the player is free to write whichever markings he or she sees fit for performance.
