A sweet harp solo, reminiscent of Meg?s ?Sailing on Strings? with its relaxed attitude. This piece has an airy, light and moving feel to it, kind of like watching shooting stars! Though there is a fair amount of syncopation throughout in both hands, requiring a good bit of coordination, technically not a difficult piece. Key of F, no accidentals, lowest note is F one and one half octaves below middle C.

Elegant and flows like silk. Written in the key of G major, this solo contains mostly arpeggios, the type of music perfect for harp. Also a good teaching piece, but sophisticated enough to be included in a professional harpist's repertoire. No lever changes makes it very playable on a 26-string lever harp.

Arranged for 26-string harp, although easily playable on larger harps, this version of the famous and greatly requested tune is like a theme and variations. It is well edited with some fingerings, brackets, and dynamic markings, and in the key of E minor. Theme is in 3/4 time and is played through once. Five following variations are in more of a driving 6/8 time. Depending on how fast it's taken, this song can easily fill up a nice segment of set with something very pleasant and not too difficult. The tune is also used as "What Child is This" so could be played at a Christmas gig!

This hauntingly beautiful three-part harp ensemble was commissioned for the opening of a new 2000-seat concert facility, Strathmore Music Hall, in Bethesda, Maryland. Dance of the Harps is presented with an underlying 3/4 accompaniment of swaying rhythm. The melody is shared between the first and second parts, while the third part provides underlying rhythm. The melody develops and expands and is followed by a sharply contrasting middle section, which is much faster and jig-like. In this section, the harps let loose in their dance, which has become spirited and playful. Following this faster middle section, the ensemble returns to the original melody, but with greater intensity and rhythmic vitality. As the piece comes to its dramatic conclusion, layer upon layer of rich harmonies unfold and become increasingly intense, culminating in a bell-like explosion of syncopated celebratory sound. The piece can be played by an ensemble of all level intermediate lever or pedal harpists, as each of the three parts is written with a different degree of technical difficulty.

Easy yet beautiful solos for harp. Notes are easy to read, lyric lines are really lovely. All the pieces are three - five pages in length, and will keep the interest of adult beginners nicely. Advanced players will enjoy sight reading these as background music.
