These were tried and successful at a performance booked last minute at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts and a couple of churches with two weeks to rehearse. There’s diversity enough to please varied audience members, child and adult alike. Five songs are scored for treble handbell quartet, the other four accommodate three to four octave groups. These could also be played on piano or harp for a different ensemble grouping. Easy harp solos are also included. It's arranged for intermediate lever harp with lots of lever flips mainly on F's and G's. It is also arranged for pedal harp in a separate edition. After I practiced the lever changes a few times, it came together quickly.I also added Chim Chim Cher-ee from Mary Poppins (1964) in the middle because they have similar melodies and harmonies. It matches the eerie feeling of the title song and makes for a fun arrangement! The 30 second audio excerpt is taken from the end of Come, Little Children to the beginning of Chim Chim Cher-ee so you can hear the transition.

This is another beloved tune written by the well loved blind harper Turlough O'Carolan. I have arranged it for lever harp. l I have added all fingering and dynamics. The difficulty is around grade 2 to 4 level. It needs a lever change while playing and the lever needs to be changed back quickly. It also shows some sliding, so 1-1 fingering. But fingering is always optional so if you or your teacher don't like it, change it. The key is G-major so you need to have an F sharp lever, and a C sharp lever for the lever change. You can use it for piano as well.(with different fingering).

O'Meara Music #5318297. Published by O'Meara Music (A0.803861). This famous Shaker quick dance has many names including Tis a Gift to be Simple, Simple Gifts, and Lord of the Dance. Aaron Copland included the melody in his ballet, Appalachian Spring (1944). Arrangements of Simple Gifts has been sung at three US Presidential Inaugurations (1985, 1993 and 2009).  The Multi-level pieces were initially arranged in an A Version. When that was completed, it was then simplified to form the B Version. The B Version has thinner lines and allows more time for placing the fingers. The purpose is to permit harpists of various playing levels to enjoy performing together. In the key of D, the melody is divided evenly between parts. There are no pedal or lever changes. Dynamics are clearly marked. Shaker songs were quite often sung in rounds.

This beautiful arrangement of Pure Imagination from the film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory -- debuted by Gene Wilder but more recently covered by Timothée Chalamet -- taps both into the sense of childhood innocence and wonder encapsulated by the song's lyrics, as well as into the quirky nature of the character of Wonka.The arrangement is two-and-a-half pages long and fitted specifically to small, 26-string lever harp, like Rees Harpsicle or Dusty Strings Ravenna. It could also easily be modified for 24-string harp models, like Harp-E, if measures 22-25 were played an octave lower than written and the high F in measure 48 were omitted.Skillwise, the arrangement it sits solidly at an intermediate level and contains only two quick lever changes, both on the same string. If you are an experienced harpist, you can probably sight-read it without too much difficulty. You will, however, need to be comfortable with playing harmonics to play it as written. If you are not comfortable playing harmonics, you could absolutely modify the piece by simply plucking each note written as a harmonic an octave higher than notated. It will sound better, however, with harmonics played as written.Please note that the preview cuts off after the first half-page of score.
