She holds a B.A. in Music Education and M.A. in Irish Traditional Music Performance (fiddle, flute, and harp). Her experience as a symphonic musician, ethnic musician, and Film/TV composer led her to combining the three aspects of music into her own compositions and arrangements; storybook music in cinematic style. She is the owner of her recording and publishing label Blue Steer Studios(ASCAP) which allows her to combine her composing skills with knowledge of both the business and publishing aspects of music industry. Winner of a Silver Ace Award from the Las Vegas Film Festival she has composed music for all types of media, including Film/TV, web and advertising, and her own personal music in audio CD and sheet music. In 2021 she took time off from composing to relocate her studio to Eastern Washington (Spokane) and is now getting started on new projects and pursuing music composition full time. Nocturne in C-Sharp Minor, written originally for piano by Frederic Francois Chopin. He wrote this piece for his older sister as a practice piece before she started on one of his concertos. This was first published 26 years after Chopin's death. This piece has been re-arranged to be played on a Pedal Harp. A few changes had to be made since it is very difficult to play chromatic scales on the harp. This has been arranged to make those chromatic scales possible. This is a difficult piece to play, but all pedal changes are notated in the music and where they need to happen. Overall a very melancholy, but beautiful piece with a lot of dynamic expression. .

Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q15608). Sophia Giustani Dussek's opus 2 consists of two books of three sonatas each for the harp. The Sonata in C minor appears in the first book, published by Pleyel in Paris in 1796. In that book, the composer's first name was not mentioned, so the sonatas were falsely ascribed to Johann Ludwig Dussek, who was quite well known in Paris at that time (cf. RISM, D 4605). In the Thematic index of the works of J.L. Dussek by Howard Craw, opus 2 is given as a set of 4 violin sonatas. An edition of the harp sonatas published by Corri, Dussek and Co. in London and Edinburgh is ascribed to Sophia Dussek (cf. RISM, D 4649). The new edition of the sonata published by Schott has been corrected accordingly. The edition is part of the ABRSM syllabus and Trinity syllabus 2007 (grade 7).

There are no advanced techniques required but the pedalling is tricky and the phrasing isn't easy to pull off as a lot of the piece is very high in the pedal harp register. However, it is a magical short piece that would contrast well with something rich and romantic, or fast and more contemporary.

Originally a piano piece, part of a Suite Burlesque, this piece became familiar to many of us as the theme from the weekly tv show, Alfred Hitchcock Presents. It is a mock funeral march, with a contrasting heroic middle section. The only difficulty is at the end: originally too chromatic altogether, it has been rearranged, but it includes some quick and precise pedalling: C-sharp-natural-flat. This can best be managed by a staccato technique followed by a pedal slide, all in keeping with the character of the piece.

This scale terminates in a trill and an ascending scale fragment that ends with a pedal slide. Berlioz? impression of Parish Alvars? playing ? ?This is the music of another world? ? can hardly be illustrated better than by this passage. An outstanding solo piece composed as all the Souvenir de Neaples in one of the happiest time of Parish Alvars life.
