Japanese Folksongs for the Small Harp contains 23 Japanese folk songs and lullabies taken from folksongs and Koto literature including the popular ?Sakura? transcribed from Kototablature and adapted for the large Lever Harp. The arrangements are appropriate for a smalllever harp with 1 octave below middle C and tuned to Eb or C. Songsin two keys are noted with an * in Contents. Thesongs are very accessible and appropriate for mid-beginner to intermediateplayers with limited or easy lever changes and endeavor to remain true to thesound of the Koto zither. Some of thesongs in the book include both an easy and intermediate arrangement.

Captain O'Kane, traditional Irish air arranged for early intermediate and late intermediate lever harp. These two arrangements (one page each) may be played one after the other for a more varied arrangement, or either one may be played twice through to suit the level of the player.

The early intermediate arrangement will fit on a small harp of 26 strings.

THE RAINBOW CONNECTION originally featured Kermit the Frog playing his banjo in 1979's The Muppet Movie. This early intermediate harp arrangement creates the same carefree lilt. Also known as "Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go?," this traditional Scottish tune is a staple in every harpist's repertoire. My arrangement includes two versions (late beginner and intermediate) one verse each, with no frills (except some ornamentation!)

This excellent book by Beth Kolle will add some interesting "northern land" tunes to your repertoire! This 117-page book contains music from Ireland, Scotland, Sweden, Norway, Cape Breton, France, Manx, and Finland, 25 tunes in all. Each piece has an introductory page of background information. The following tunes have flute parts in addition to the harp part: Carrickfurgus, Innisheer, Brae Lochiel, Schottis 1, and The Shepherd's Daughter. The following tunes have a Harp 2 duo part: Innisheer, Reinlendar 1, and Mazurka Michel. Chords are included and measure numbers are marked at the beginning of each system.
