Beautiful harpistic arrangement of this comforting hymn. This piece was transcribed by Basil Alter from Louise's recording, "Sacred Treasures". It is five pages in length, highly arpeggiated with some harmonics and glissandos. There is also a music box type section. It is exactly as Louise recorded it. Gretchen Chell Cover assisted with editing, and Frank Voltz did the final editing. Mary Radspinner made the Finale edits. This is the second piece from Louise's "Sacred Treasures" album.

Six traditional American melodies arranged for harp solo by Louise Trotter. They were originally improvisations Louise recorded on an album for Sampler Records in 1990, called Shenandoah. Beautiful renditions, in free-form style, notated after the recording was completed. Old Joe Clark is arranged as a hoe-down. Wayfaring Stranger is a lush rendition using extended harmonies. Of intermediate difficulty, these American tunes should be satisfying elements of your repertoire.

This volume combines Louise Trotter's "Three Favorite Hymns" and "Four Hymns Plain and Fancy". Each arrangement is two to three pages in length with easy-to-read notation. Some fingerings are included. The use of harmonics, glissandos and arpeggios to make these arrangements interesting and "harpy".

You just can't beat some of these American folk tunes, and Louise Trotter's editing and arranging skills make them so fun to play and hear. Left hand takes some of the melody for ease in playing. Nicely fingered and easy to read.
