It is a song of resistance against the Shah regime and is about a mother who sings a lullaby to her child and tells the story of its father. Based on this song, Barbara Heller composed the duo 'Lalai, Schlaflied zum Wachwerden?' for violin (violoncello) and piano in 1989 - in memory of 50 Iranian women who were murdered under the regime of Khomeini. The composition is also available for violin and harp now.

Im Frühjahr 2012 schrieb ich für das Duo Imaginaire ein knapp viertelstündiges Werk für die ganz ungewöhnliche, aber umso reizvollere Duobesetzung von Klarinette und Harfe. Der romantisch-ironische Titel einer melancholischen Serenade gibt den semantischen Inhalt des Stückes recht genau wieder. Musikalisch formal handelt es sich um ein großformatiges rondoartiges Gebilde, in dem sich zahlreiche melodische und virtuose Episoden um ein schwebend-synkopisches Thema gruppieren, das sich zwar verändert, aber als roter Faden trotzdem deutlich wiederzuerkennen ist. Das Stück besitzt einen tonalen Rahmen, der auf siebentönigen Skalen basiert, die die Gegebenheiten der Harfe als diatonisches Instrument nutzen, ohne ein einziges Mal als echte Dur- oder Mollskalen in Erscheinung zu treten. Der serenadenhafte Charakter des Stückes wird unterstrichen durch die Charakterisierung der Klarinette als lineares Gesangsinstrument und die Harfe als akkordisch geführtes Zupfinstrument. Selbstverständlich verlassen beide Instrumente immer wieder den ihnen angestammten Bereich (die Harfe beginnt zu singen, während sich die Klarinette in üppigen Figurationen ergeht), wodurch ein kammermusikalisch dichtes und klanglich reizvolles Gewebe entsteht. - Stefan Heucke.

Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889432). I found this Passacaglia from Bach among some of my own handwritten manuscripts. It is a phenomenal piece. Bach was definitive a great artist, a Genius. Passacaglia is an Italian word. This music form was originated in early 17th-century Spain as a strummed interlude between instrumentally accompanied dances or songs. In this piece we can clearly experience this „Spanish strumming between „Bars 137 and 145. The passacaglia was redefined in the late 1620s by Italian composer Girolamo Frescobaldi, who transformed it into a series of continuous variations over an ostinato bass pattern (which itself may be varied). I added to this piece some interpretation symbols and rearranged it for the harp but every single note was left as it would be found in the original version. The piece is appropriate for advanced performers. Most of the score is left to the interpretation of the artists involved, particularly the use of fingering. The piece is difficult but very Human. It requires focused endurance and some practice on certain passages. Once learned you will also be playing much better. Feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills and taste. Have fun! It is a piece that can be used in many different kinds of situations, from a serious concert hall to a marriage, it is perfect for Christmas celebrations and all other kinds of Spiritual events. He lived between 1670 - 1738. I Arranged this piece for a lap harp, added some chords to be performed with the left hand and a few ornaments where introduced. Easy to perform in all kinds of events. So I decided to publish the work. It has a dance like structure and a nostalgic character, it can be played faster or slower and it is easy to learn. One in F for a big harp, one in Eb for medium size and the one in F for a little 3 oct. lap harp a very similar one to the one that usually O`Carolan used to perform. The melodic bass played with the left hand demands a little bit of coordination but the arrangement is focused in the main melody and is very easy to perform in all this 3 versions. The piece is so beautiful that I recommend it to be played always twice in a row. Some interpretation symbols are used as a performance suggestion. Luis Anjos Teixeira „Now comes the Little Story The Volcano`s Lake was composed on a volcano called Pico that stands out about 2000 meters above see level right in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. From the bottom of the ocean to its pick it is higher than mount Everest. I like to know that there are an enormous amount of different species of whales that live in this area and many others that go there strictly for romance. I went there to perform with the harp but was at the same time deeply morning the death of my Dear Cat Mary Jane that tragically passed away the day before the flight. In this isle I was having at night strange dreams of epic battles and fights between flying Angels and Demons. In one of these dreams „Time and Matter were a byproduct of „Music itself. The wind was blowing, the volcano was dancing and the water on the lake was whispering enchanting melodies. As soon as I woke up I wrote some notes before they vanished away, just a fragment of an idea of what I was listening in the dream. I named it „The Volcano`s Lake, because the „Lake was comforting me with its melodies, I realized that my tears were also becoming the lake itself and in this lake I was becoming one with Mary Jane and all the rest of the Universe. Friedrich Schiller wrote the poem Ode to Joy in 1785 as a celebration of the triumph of the brotherhood of man against war and desperation. A revised version was published in 1808. In 1824 Ludwig van Beethoven used parts of that poem in his Ninth Symphony. In 1907 Henry van Dyke added his choice of words to Beethoven’s melody to create the hymn Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee. Ode to Joy became the Anthem of the Council of Europe in 1972 and in 1985 the anthem of the European Community (EU). Ode to Joy is commonly used as a Wedding Recessional.
