The well-known soothing Prelude in C from Johann Sebastian Bach's "Das wohltemperierte Klavier" is arranged especially for the 22-string travel harp. It contains lever changes. This arrangement includes a version with lever notations (diamond note method) and fingering suggestions. The range is from A below the small C (C3) to A above the treble staff (A2-A5).
The arrangement remains true to the original, but includes the "Schwencke measure" = m. 23 and some necessary octaviations to accommodate the smaller 22-string travel harp. Charles Gounod used this version to compose his beautiful Ave Maria melody. .

The first movement starts with a pastoral character, somewhat naive, but soon starts to raise some concerned thoughts, and so, ends dark. The second movement is a light flowing movement built on pentatonic scale theme. A Bassoon cadenza bridges between the second and the third movement, which is a long Passacaglia with lamento character. In the last movement, piccolo is used instead of flute. This movement opens with a fugue between the four instruments, which leads to a lyrical second theme followed by harp solo and ends with a Grand Finale. This is a collection of 2 preludes written by Johann Sebastian Bach, arranged for the 22-string lever harp with range from A below the small C (C3) to A above the treble staff (A2-A5)
It includes:
- The well-known Prelude in C from Johann Sebastian Bach's "Das wohltemperierte Klavier" is arranged especially for the 22-string travel harp. It contains lever changes. This arrangement includes a version with lever notations (diamond note method) and fingering suggestions. Charles Gounod used this prelude to compose his beautiful Ave Maria melody.
- The soothing Prelude in G from Johann Sebastian Bach's Suite No. 1 for Cello is arranged for the 22-string harp. It contains lever changes. These lever changes are indicated by diamond notes.

The piece is thou very simple and easy to perform. It is appropriate for the harp and it sounds great on any kind of harp. When using a little lap harp, one can easily transpose the bass voice an octave higher. It is a flexible piece, you can play it slower or a little faster and even the arpeggio in the end that becomes quite easy after some practice could be replaced by a simple glissando. You should feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills, Your taste and Your Soul. It is a piece that can be used in many different kinds of situations, from the serious concert hall to a funeral, in Easter or even Christmas celebrations and all other kinds of Spiritual events or even joyful social meetings. When performed Live It will give you back a great feedback from the public, you will always want to have it in your repertoire. Luis Anjos Teixeira „Now comes the Little Story The Volcano`s Lake was composed on a volcano called Pico that stands out about 2000 meters above see level right in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. From the bottom of the ocean to its pick it is higher than mount Everest. I like to know that there are an enormous amount of different species of whales that live in this area and many others that go there strictly for romance. I went there to perform with the harp but was at the same time deeply morning the death of my Dear Cat Mary Jane that tragically passed away the day before the flight. In this isle I was having at night strange dreams of epic battles and fights between flying Angels and Demons. In one of these dreams „Time and Matter were a byproduct of „Music itself. The wind was blowing, the volcano was dancing and the water on the lake was whispering enchanting melodies. As soon as I woke up I wrote some notes before they vanished away, just a fragment of an idea of what I was listening in the dream. I named it „The Volcano`s Lake, because the „Lake was comforting me with its melodies, I realized that my tears were also becoming the lake itself and in this lake I was becoming one with Mary Jane and all the rest of the Universe. Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the all the Love the wonderful painting and cover design. This is a simplified harp arrangement suitable for small harps of 15 strings or more. Both hands are written in the treble clef. Range is from Middle C up to Treble High A. Can easily be adapted to fit harps of various sizes and strings. There are no lever changes. You can do many things to take this piece to the next level in terms of timing and making it sound as musical as possible. Difficulty Level and Skills Required: Late-Intermediate. The right hand plays the melody line embellished with chords underneath, along with a couple of thumb slides and quick placing. The left hand has more challenging cross-unders with 10th intervals, brush muffles, and several lever changes. Both hands do some jumping between registers, and there are many rolled chords and some tempo changes throughout the piece.Type of Harp: Big harp version is for 33-string harps and larger. Right hand has some syncopation and is mostly eighth notes, some tied to quarters or half notes. The lowest note, Eb almost two octaves below middle C, is only played once. This piece could easily be played on a 29 string harp with the lowest note being G.

But soon, the deep notes rise, claiming sovereignty in turn and seizing the forces of nature. Peace tries to return, seeking to restore the harmonies of the beginning, but it falters, hesitant. The ending suggests that everything will need to be reinvented, redefined. But you can obviously play it on a larger harp, as well. It ranges from the 3rd G above middle C to the C one octave below middle C. As such, it should also fit the range of a Harp-E, Dusty Strings Ravenna 26, any of the Marini-Made lap harp line, Musicmakers Sonnet 29, or a number of Roosebeck Pakistani models.This in-world lullaby bookends the original 2010's movie franchise. And, while it's less dark than The Hanging Tree (which I reference musically), it has always felt to me inherently haunted by the violence it tries to soothe away. And I wanted to try to capture some of that in this arrangement.Please note that the preview cuts off after the first half-page of score. Perform this original work of Celtic Irish setting from her CD (Gypsy Road,2012) scored for harp ensemble of intermediate to advanced players.  Scored in E minor with no lever changes it features a creative slip-jig with lush and effective harmonies.  A rare opportunity to showcase programmatic skills for the harp ensemble.  The dark and mysterious musical message will touch the hearts of all who hear it.About the CompositionI wrote this when I was very angry at the world.  Someday I might meet a black hound on a dark night... and we’ll both go hunting together.Black Dogs,  Black Hounds, The Hounds of Hell,  Dogs of Hell,  Gabriel Hounds, Yell Hounds,  Barghest,  Black Dog of the Hanging Hills, Gurt Dog or the Hounds of Herne the Hunter… by whatever name, they are a common feature in the folklore of the British Isles.  The Black Hounds of Cŵn Annwn are the spectral hounds of Annwn, the otherworld of Welsh myth.  Early Christians came to dub these mythical creatures as The Hounds of Hell or Dogs of Hell and erroneously theorized they were therefore owned by Satan.  However, the Annwn of medieval Welsh tradition is an otherworldly paradise and not a hell or abode of dead souls. The Black Hounds are a nocturnal apparition, and their appearance was regarded as a portent of death. They are supposed to hunt on specific nights in the autumn and winter when it is believed that the howling of these huge dogs foretold death to anyone who heard them. *************************************************About the Composer Laura Olson (ASCAP) is a retired California music educator with over 30 years of experience specializing in stringed instruments and orchestras. She holds a B.A. in Music Education and M.A. in Irish Traditional Music Performance (fiddle, flute, and harp). Her experience as a symphonic musician, ethnic musician, and Film/TV composer led her to combining the three aspects of music into her own compositions and arrangements; storybook music in cinematic style. She is the owner of her recording and publishing label Blue Steer Studios(ASCAP) which allows her to combine her composing skills with knowledge of both the business and publishing aspects of music industry. Winner of a Silver Ace Award from the Las Vegas Film Festival she has composed music for all types of media, including Film/TV, web and advertising, and her own personal music in audio CD and sheet music. In 2021 she took time off from composing to relocate her studio to Eastern Washington (Spokane) and is now getting started on new projects and pursuing music composition full time.
