This is an arrangement of Mad World for zither or lap harp. Just slip the sheet music under the strings and follow the notes which are connected by lines, easily showing you which strings to pluck.

This sheet music works on T.K. O'Brien Lap Harps, Music Makers, or Melody Harps. To use with a First Act instrument, you might need to trim farther inside the guidelines, and you may possibly lose a note at the beginning or end. Typical zither tuning, from bottom to top, is G A B C D E F# G A B C D E F# G..... which is the tuning I used for this particular arrangement.

A nice collection of American tunes that we sometimes neglect to honor as a rich part of our heritage. Red River Valley has an easy solo version, and an intermediate solo version, both of which can be played together as a duet. Streets of Laredo has an easy solo version and three other versions of a more difficult nature, any of which can be played together, or one after another for an elongated performance of the tune. Shenandoah has an easy harp solo rendition and a version with large chords in the right hand. They can stand alone or be played in duet form. Arkansas Traveler/Turkey in the Straw medley is a clever stand-alone solo. Camptown Races has a very easy solo adaptation, plus two other versions just a bit more challenging, though not much. For Amazing Grace, there is an easy key of C version, a pedal harp key of C version, and an easy key of G version. There is a lower intermediate key of G secondo part, as well as a modulation to the key of C.

This is a study of ear training through melodic development. Small melodic fragments from familiar nursery rhymes, folk, patriotic and hymns tunes are used. The numbers 1 through 7 are used instead of using ?Do, Re, Mi?? to identify the notes in the scale. Melodies are categorized by range, beginning with a range of only three notes, progressing through a total of nine categories. Skills in ear training are highly useful to musicians who might be asked to take requests at hotels, parties and restaurants, or those involved in harp therapy. With the melodic fragments that are the focus of study, performance by ear can be highly strengthened and developed.

A collection of Scottish tunes from the nineteenth century and earlier have been carefully selected for their suitability on harp. They lay well under the fingers, are enhanced by the rhythmic and tonal properties of the plucked string and its overtones, and are musically interesting. Airs were chosen for their melodic beauty. Arrangements are traditional in style with ornamented melodies, open chords, and spare harmonies. Tunes are given in two keys, one in all naturals or one sharp, the other in one or two flats. Suggestions for fingering are given, levers or pedals need to be set only at the beginning of each piece, except for the Boat Songs, which require one lever or pedal change. Finally, historical and performance notes on the music are provided, together with a list of sources that are available from U.S. or Scottish distributors.

This is my advanced arrangement of the Beatles' "Let It Be". I had to get very creative with repeat sections for this piece. You'll find optional harmony notes that you can pluck, adding beautiful chords instead of just the single note melody. However, you can just play the melody notes, if you prefer. This excellent book by Beth Kolle will add some interesting "northern land" tunes to your repertoire! This 117-page book contains music from Ireland, Scotland, Sweden, Norway, Cape Breton, France, Manx, and Finland, 25 tunes in all. Each piece has an introductory page of background information. The following tunes have flute parts in addition to the harp part: Carrickfurgus, Innisheer, Brae Lochiel, Schottis 1, and The Shepherd's Daughter. Popular melodies from the Medieval Period arranged for lever or pedal harp duet. Harp 1 is designed to be a complete solo arrangement while Harp 2 enhances and fills out the first part. Arranged for all harps using only the keys of F, C, G and D, with minimal lever or pedal changes. A range of exactly four octaves from C to C is needed to play all of the duet arrangements. Although these arrangements do not strictly adhere to medieval harmony and rhythm, they are nicely evocative of the Middle Ages.

This arrangement is for double strung harp solo. There are 2 versions provided: key of C and key of G. The key of C works well on double strung floor harps and lowest note is G (1.5 octaves below middle C). The key of G is suitable for double strung lap harps. There are 2 preset levers and one mid-song lever change required.

A collection of ten Christmas carols from five nationalities: Austria, Czechoslovakia, England, Ireland and Poland, playable on pedal or lever harp with accidentals clearly marked for levers and/or pedals. Modulations and interludes are included for smooth transitions between pieces. A set of lead sheets is included at the end of the collection which are marked with rehearsal letter indications, repeat signs for multiple verses, interludes and modulations.

A wonderful collection of music, containing elegant arrangements of melodies suitable for the Christmas season, and arranged in key order so that the entire collection can be played as a continuous suite, if desired. Lever and pedal changes are well-planned and well-marked. Keys of F, C, G, and D major (or relative minors). Written in a nice harpistic style, and are very enjoyable to play.
