Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889432). I found this Passacaglia from Bach among some of my own handwritten manuscripts. It is a phenomenal piece. Bach was definitive a great artist, a Genius. Passacaglia is an Italian word. This music form was originated in early 17th-century Spain as a strummed interlude between instrumentally accompanied dances or songs. In this piece we can clearly experience this „Spanish strumming between „Bars 137 and 145. The passacaglia was redefined in the late 1620s by Italian composer Girolamo Frescobaldi, who transformed it into a series of continuous variations over an ostinato bass pattern (which itself may be varied). I added to this piece some interpretation symbols and rearranged it for the harp but every single note was left as it would be found in the original version. The piece is appropriate for advanced performers. Most of the score is left to the interpretation of the artists involved, particularly the use of fingering. The piece is difficult but very Human. It requires focused endurance and some practice on certain passages. Once learned you will also be playing much better. Feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills and taste. Have fun! It is a piece that can be used in many different kinds of situations, from a serious concert hall to a marriage, it is perfect for Christmas celebrations and all other kinds of Spiritual events. When performed Live It will give you back a great feedback from the public, you will always want to have it in your repertoire. The score was written on Finale. The sound file is the version in D minor for a concert harp, it was produced with samplers from Garritan and conceived merely as an audio support for the presentation of this score. This beautiful arrangement of Pure Imagination from the film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory -- debuted by Gene Wilder but more recently covered by Timothée Chalamet -- taps both into the sense of childhood innocence and wonder encapsulated by the song's lyrics, as well as into the quirky nature of the character of Wonka.The arrangement is two-and-a-half pages long and fitted specifically to small, 26-string lever harp, like Rees Harpsicle or Dusty Strings Ravenna. It could also easily be modified for 24-string harp models, like Harp-E, if measures 22-25 were played an octave lower than written and the high F in measure 48 were omitted.Skillwise, the arrangement it sits solidly at an intermediate level and contains only two quick lever changes, both on the same string. If you are an experienced harpist, you can probably sight-read it without too much difficulty. You will, however, need to be comfortable with playing harmonics to play it as written. If you are not comfortable playing harmonics, you could absolutely modify the piece by simply plucking each note written as a harmonic an octave higher than notated. It will sound better, however, with harmonics played as written.Please note that the preview cuts off after the first half-page of score. The first movement starts with a pastoral character, somewhat naive, but soon starts to raise some concerned thoughts, and so, ends dark. The second movement is a light flowing movement built on pentatonic scale theme. A Bassoon cadenza bridges between the second and the third movement, which is a long Passacaglia with lamento character. In the last movement, piccolo is used instead of flute. This movement opens with a fugue between the four instruments, which leads to a lyrical second theme followed by harp solo and ends with a Grand Finale. This is my simplified arrangement of Leaves from the Vine from the beloved animated series Avatar: the Last Airbender, as well as the more recent Netflix live-action adaptation by the same name. It is appropriate for beginner harpists working with an instrument as small as 24 strings, ranging from the F below middle C to the third F above Middle C (though the final verse of the song can be played an octave lower than written on smaller instruments). It is written in the key of B-flat Major with no accidentals or lever changes. As such, it could work on an instrument model without levers, so long as the instrument is tuned with Bs and Es flat. My own instrument is a Harpsicle Fullsicle Harp. But I believe it could also work, with few or no modifications, on a Harp-E, most/all of the Roosebeck Pakistani harp models, Dusty Strings Ravenna 26, or Musicmakers Sonnet 29. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889446). Captain Magan is a lovely piece written a long time ago by an Irish composer named Turlough Carolan, known also as „the last Irish bard or „O`Carolan. He lived between 1670 - 1738. I Arranged this piece for a lap harp, added some chords to be performed with the left hand and a few ornaments where introduced. Easy to perform in all kinds of events. So I decided to publish the work. It has a dance like structure and a nostalgic character, it can be played faster or slower and it is easy to learn. The score was written on Finale, the sound file was produced with samplers from Garritan. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file. This revised book combines three of Ms. Trotter's popular books: Getting Started in Pop Harp, The Creative Folk Harpist, and Let's Play Country Harp.Included are compilations from workshop presentations into this book which contains repertoire suggestions, ways to tune your harp, scales and chords, intervals, seventh chords and minor scales, diminished chords, voicing, inversions, bass patterns, chord progressions, steps in making an arrangement , introductions, endings, and how to play variations on the melody. To be a creative and versatile pop harpist, classic training is valuable and necessary. However, the habit of playing every note as written is sometimes hard to break when learning to improvise. The act of playing notes spontaneously may be overwhelming to the classically trained harpist. There are more and more written arrangements for popular music available to buy, but is satisfying to have the skills to arrange one's own pieces. It is possible to play popular music from a fake book or by ear, with training. The suggestions in this book should help bridge the gap from classical to pop, and hopefully provide some tools for the improvisation necessary for playing popular music. These ideas come from Louise's own experience, and from workshops with nationally knows pop and jazz harpists. It is hoped that the material presented will open up new avenues for the harpist to arrange and improvise in order to widen opportunities to perform.With simple melodies and uncomplicated harmonies, this book also instructs the harpist on the basics of achieving that country-western sound, as well as techniques on imitating such traditional country western instruments as guitar, banjo, fiddle, string bass, and piano. A good book for any harpist wishing to enlarge their repertoire to include this style of music.
