The organ sonatas, BWV 525–530 by Johann Sebastian Bach are a collection of six sonatas in trio sonata form. Each of the sonatas has three movements, with three independent parts in the two manuals and obbligato pedal. The collection was put together in Leipzig in the late 1720s and contained reworkings of prior compositions by Bach from earlier cantatas, organ works and chamber music as well as some newly composed movements. The sixth sonata, BWV 530, is the only one for which all three movements were specially composed for the collection. When played on an organ, the second manual part is often played an octave lower on the keyboard with appropriate registration. Commentators have suggested that the collection might partly have been intended for private study to perfect organ technique, some pointing out that its compass allows it to be played on a pedal clavichord. The collection of sonatas is generally regarded as one of Bach's masterpieces for organ. The sonatas are also considered to be amongst his most difficult compositions for the instrument.Arranged for String Trio. Keys of E minor (1st and 3rd moviments) and B minor (2nd moviment). Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553762). This music was originally attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi, as they were in a Mr R. Bremner's original 1780 London publication and also arranged by Hugo Riemann, and again wrongly attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi. It is actually made up of 3 different pieces: Gallo's 2nd Trio Sonata in Bb. Mvts I and III, and Trio Sonata No 8 in Eb All 3 Gallo mvts were used by Igor Stravinsky in the 3rd mvt. Scherzinoof his Neo Classical Pulcinella Suite. The Pulcinella Suite for small chamber orchestra and 3 vocalists which was derived from the ballet, was written in 1922 and has no vocal parts. But even though Stravinsky used Pergolesi's(which were in this case Gallo's) melodies and bass lines with little change, he managed to put his own unmistakable stamp on the music through his use of modern harmonies and occasional rhythmic modifications.These are transcriptions of the original pieces, in their original keys.They are interesting to play and  do not sound too dissimilar to Stravinsky's final work.Arranged string trio with alternative violin 2 for viola.

It is one of Mozart's more complex and ambitious piano sonatas and is generally regarded as one of his greatest works for the instrument.The sonata is divided into three movements:1.   Allegro - The first movement is a fast-paced and energetic sonata-allegro form, characterized by its lively theme and virtuosic passages. The movement begins with a bold and dramatic opening statement, followed by a series of contrasting themes and variations. The development section explores new harmonic and rhythmic territory, while the recapitulation brings the movement full circle with a restatement of the main themes.2.   Rondeau en Polonaise - The second movement is a graceful and elegant rondo in the style of a polonaise, a popular dance of the time. The main theme is a lilting melody that is first presented by the right hand and then repeated with variations throughout the movement. The middle section features a contrasting theme in a minor key, which is then developed and expanded upon in the latter half of the movement.3.   Theme and Variations - The final movement is a set of six variations on a theme, which is introduced at the beginning of the movement. Each variation explores a different aspect of the theme, from playful embellishments to dramatic flourishes. The final variation brings the piece to a rousing and triumphant close.Overall, Mozart's Sonata in D major, K. 284, is a masterful example of the composer's virtuosity and innovation and remains a beloved and influential work in the piano repertoire. Mozart's Sonata in D major, K. 284 is also known as the Dürnitz Sonata because it is believed to have been composed for Count Johann Joseph Anton von Dürnitz, an accomplished amateur flautist who was a patron of Mozart.Mozart was in Munich in 1775, and he met Dürnitz there. According to Mozart's letters to his father, Dürnitz played the flute very well, and Mozart was impressed by his abilities. It is believed that Mozart composed this sonata specifically for Dürnitz, who may have performed it with Mozart accompanying him on the piano.There is no concrete evidence to support the theory that the sonata was named after Dürnitz, but it is widely accepted as the most likely explanation for the nickname. In any case, the sonata remains one of Mozart's most popular and beloved works for solo piano.
