"Carry On Wayward Son" is a single recorded by Kansas and written by Kerry Livgren for their 1976 album Leftoverture. In 1977, the song peaked at No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming their first top 20 entry in the US.The song was certified Gold by the RIAA on December 18, 1990.
"Carry On Wayward Son" is considered the unofficial theme song of the TV series Supernatural. It is played during the recap before every season finale of Supernatural, with the exception of the first season, where it was played during the recap of the penultimate episode. At the end of the show's 200th episode in season 10, the cast of a play based on Supernatural sing the song. The song was also featured prominently in the series finale, titled "Carry On", referencing the song. Featured in the episode was the original song and a cover version by Neoni.(Wikipedia).

Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.575837). Originally written for a Delian suite for various composers remembering Schoenberg back in 2006, I have now revised it and provided separate parts. The piece is atonal and satirically based on Twinkle twinkle little star by way of a supposed reaction from Pluto after it was relegated from planet to dwarf planet by astronomers here on earth. I wrote the following introduction for the Delian suite version: 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' (Jane Taylor's poem used for the tune to the French song Ah, vous dirai-je maman) is given an atonal treatment, for string quartet, in memory of the 'lost' planet of Pluto. Of course Pluto is still there, merely changed in the human taxonomy, which deems it to be no longer a planet. Similarly Twinkle, Twinkle is no longer a nursery rhyme but a strange atonal piece with memories of its past self moving towards an unknown space. It will be curious to know at which age a child recognises the twinkle-twinkle motif in this new, totally untraditional version. However, atonal though it is, it still appears to have some kind of 'home.' 'Ah, vous dirai-je maman, ce qui cause mon tourment,' ce n'est plus la petite chanson d'enfants, elle s'en va vers les étoiles dans un astronef de quatuor à cordes atonal. Son tourment?: Sa lamentation ne vise que la taxonomie humaine des planètes-Pluton, tu n'est plus planète? Maman! où se trouve la réalité, où se trouve notre domicile? Nous avons tous nos taxonomies, mais la réalité est en dehors... Le sens de tonalité est en dehors... Mais malgré tout, on reconnaît la mélodie... N'est-ce pas?.

Published by Yoel Epstein (A0.773330). These six songs have become icons of remembrance of the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust. They are traditionally played on Holocaust Day, which is on the 28th day of the Hebrew month of Nissan in Israel, or January 27th in the rest of the world. Unter Dyne Vyse Shteren (Under the Starry Sky) was written by Avraham Sutskover, a leading Yiddish poet, while trapped in the ghetto of Vilna, in July 1943. Days before the ghetto was destroyed and all the Jews murdered, Sutskover escaped to the forest with his wife. He reached Russia, and in 1947 moved to Palestine. He died in Israel in 2010 at the age of 96. The poem was set to music by Avraham Brodna, a simple laborer in the Vilna ghetto who died in a concentration camp. Ani Maamin (I Believe): The words to this simple song are of the Jewish prayer I believe with perfect faith in the coming of the Messiah. The tune is attributed to Azriel David Festig, a leading Warsaw hazzan (cantor) who died in the Holocaust. The song was performed after the war by Rabbi Shaul Yedidia Eliezer Taub, the Admor (Rabbinical leader) of the Modzitz Hassidic sect, and has become the iconic song of the remembrance in the Hassidic community. Shtiller Shtiller (Hush Hush) was written by Alexander Volkovitzky, then a 12-year-old boy, in the Vilna Ghetto in the spring of 1943. Volkovitzky, who wrote the melody for a song contest organized to encourage the cultural life of the ghetto, eventually came to Israel where he (under the name Alexander Tamir) became a leading pianist and music educator. The words are by Shmerke Kacserginsky, a leading poet of Vilna, who later escaped the Holocaust and migrated to South America. Papirossen (Cigarettes) actually predates the Holocaust by 15 years. It was written by Yiddish actor and composer Herman Yablokoff in 1922 in Grodno, Poland. Yablokoff later immigrated to America, where he produced a musical Papirossen that incorporated the song. It was later made famous by the Barry Sisters, a Yiddish popular music group. Donna Donna was written by Shalom Secunda, with words by Aaron Zeitlin for the Yiddish musical Esterke in 1940. Though the song originally related to the 600-year-old legend of a Polish king who married a Jewess, it quickly became associated with the Holocaust because of its haunting message. The song has entered the popular folk repertoire, with canonical renditions by Joan Baez, Theodore Bikel, and many others. Hatikva (the Hope) is Israel's national anthem. The words are by Naftali Zvi Imber, and the tune is a traditional eastern European tune. You are welcome to try some of my other arrangements. String Quartet No. 1 is a single ten-minute movement which integrates the traditional four movements into a single arched design. The piece was directly inspired by the playing of the Medici Quartet, and contains veiled references to Ravel's classic String Quartet in F. The work remains broadly tonal and melodic throughout, as it develops key themes and motifs. Lines are often derived from the octatonic scale, and the key interval of the augmented fourth. Some harmonies are the product of symmetries and inversions. This piece was the Winner of the 1999 Gregynog Festival, Young Composers' Award of Wales. It is highy accessible and is appropriate for higher standard musicians, including students and the more advanced. This is a new version for string quartet. The underlying themes are a sequence of shifting chords representing going to sleep and the ancient chant Te lucis ante terminum (To Thee before the close of day...) The music of pianist-composer Cécile Chaminade (1857-1944) was highly popular in her lifetime, but mostly neglected afterward. It is fortunately now being rediscovered. Her character pieces, of which she wrote many, display charm and wit, with elegant French romantic sensibility. This set of arrangements for string quartet includes includes selected works composed between 1887 and 1910. It begins with two excerpts from her ballet suite Callirhoë for piano, Pas des Amphores and Pas des écharpes (Scarf Dance), followed by Idylle, from a set of 6 Romances sans Paroles. The next piece, Chanson Russe (Russian Song), if it isn’t based on an actual folksong, is a clever imitation. The set concludes with the gently uplifting Romance in D major.
