The song won numerous awards, including the award for Best Original Song at both the 74th Golden Globe Awards and 89th Academy Awards. It has a melancholy feel, with a gentle swing. In this arrangement, the melody begins in the viola before moving to the first violin.

"Best Part" was released as a collaborative single in 2017 by Canadian singer Daniel Caesar and American singer H.E.R.
