AndanteHandel's Water Music is one of his most famous compositions. It was written for King George I's pleasure barge trip along the River Thames in 1717. The Water Music is divided into three suites, each containing a variety of movements. The music features a mix of dance rhythms such as minuets, bourrees, and hornpipes, along with lively fanfares and slower, more stately airs. Its combination of light and playful music with grandeur and pomp has made it one of the most beloved pieces of classical music. Water Music has been performed by many orchestras and is a popular choice for special occasions, such as coronations and weddings. Its enduring popularity has helped to make it one of Handel's most famous and beloved compositions.Weddings during the time of Handel were usually quite extravagant affairs. The ceremony was typically held in a church and was accompanied by a full orchestra. Handel's own compositions were frequently used to provide the music for the ceremony. This was especially true in London, where Handel was based and where his music was extremely popular. Handel wrote a number of pieces specifically for use at weddings, including the popular Wedding Anthem and the Wedding Anthem in D Major. Handel's music provided a sense of grandeur and elegance to the proceedings and was often used to give the wedding an extra special touch.The festivities following the ceremony were also often quite lavish, with a large feast and plenty of dancing. Handel's music was often used to provide the background music for the dancing, and he wrote many dance suites that were specifically designed for this purpose. It, in turn, is based on the Russian fairy tales of the Firebird and the blessing/curse it possesses for anyone who owns it. The ballet premiered at Opéra de Paris as part of Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes company and was an immediate successful, bringing Stravinsky international fame. The ballet tells the story of the journey of Prince Ivan. He strays into the realm of the evil Koschei, whose immortality is preserved by keeping his soul in a magic egg. Ivan is about to kill the Firebird but is spared. As a token of thanks, she offers him a feather that can be used to summon her should Ivan be in dire need. Prince Ivan then meets princesses who are under Koschei’s spell, falling in love with one of them. After confronting the magician, Koschei sends his minions after Ivan, who summons the Firebird. She intervenes and bewitches the monsters. Exhausted, the creatures and Koschei then fall into a deep sleep. Ivan is then directed by the Firebird to the egg containing Koschei's soul, which Ivan destroys, freeing all those under his spell. Ivan and the princesses celebrate their victory. The music features in Disney’s Fantasia 2000. This arrangement of The Princesses’ Round Dance is for piano trio (violin, violoncello and piano). It is mainly used in traditional Korean songs, and a representative example is Arirang, one of the representative folk songs famous for its slow melody and mournful melody. It also reflects the culture, customs, and emotions of each region and has diverse content and rhythm. “Monggeumpo Taryeong†is a traditional Korean folk song handed down from the Hwanghae region. “Monggeumpo†is a port, and the beach here is famous for its white sandy beaches, lush forests, and Rosa rugosa flowers. The content of this folk song consists of a sad melody and lyrics, and it contains the joys and sorrows of the lives of fishermen and the sorrowful feelings waiting for the safe return of a loved one who went out to catch fish. This music is composed in the A-B-A format. The sad part is located in the middle,, and the beginning and end parts were composed in an exciting atmosphere. It is usually played to the traditional Korean “jungmori†rhythm, which is also quoted throughout the piece. It is also called “Jangsangot Taryeong.â€.

Here is a flowing instrumental trio arrangement (for VIOLIN and CELLO duet with PIANO accompaniment) of a beautiful hymn from the late 1800's titled The City of Our God when associated with the lyrics by George Washington Bethune. The tune was composed by William Augustine Ogden. This hymn may be better known by its Spanish title Jerusalén Mi Amado Hogar (Jerusalem My Beloved Home) when used with contemporary lyrics by Nicolás Samojluk. The original lyrics by G. W. Bethune are shown below.Both the VIOLIN and the CELLO get to lead with the melody at times making this a fun and equally challenging piece for both instruments while adding variety for the listeners. The VIOLIN plays the melody for the first verse and then the CELLO leads with the melody for the second verse.
