Arte Nova Music Lab #5042471. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742491). George Frideric (or Frederick) Handel (/ˈhændəәl/;[a] born Georg Friederich Händel 23 February 1685 (O.S.) [(N.S.) 5 March] – 14 April 1759) was a German, later British, Baroque composer who spent the bulk of his career in London, becoming well known for his operas, oratorios, anthems, concerti grossi and organ concertos. Handel received important training in Halle and worked as a composer in Hamburg and Italy before settling in London in 1712; he became a naturalised British subject in 1727. He was strongly influenced both by the great composers of the Italian Baroque and by the middle-German polyphonic choral tradition. Within fifteen years, Handel had started three commercial opera companies to supply the English nobility with Italian opera. Musicologist Winton Dean writes that his operas show that Handel was not only a great composer; he was a dramatic genius of the first order.[6] As Alexander's Feast (1736) was well received, Handel made a transition to English choral works. After his success with Messiah (1742) he never composed an Italian opera again. Almost blind, and having lived in England for nearly fifty years, he died in 1759, a respected and rich man. His funeral was given full state honours, and he was buried in Westminster Abbey in London. Born the same year as Johann Sebastian Bach and Domenico Scarlatti, Handel is regarded as one of the greatest composers of the Baroque era, with works such as Messiah, Water Music, and Music for the Royal Fireworks remaining steadfastly popular. One of his four coronation anthems, Zadok the Priest (1727), composed for the coronation of George II, has been performed at every subsequent British coronation, traditionally during the sovereign's anointing. Another of his English oratorios, Solomon (1748), has also remained popular, with the Sinfonia that opens act 3 (known more commonly as The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba) featuring at the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony. Handel composed more than forty opera serias in over thirty years, and since the late 1960s, with the revival of baroque music and historically informed musical performance, interest in Handel's operas has grown. Published by James Strauss (A0.1035228). AntonÃn Emil Titl Was born October 2, 1809 in Pernstein, and died in January 21, 1882 in Vienna was an Austrian composer. Titl had been the military bandmaster in Prague since 1835. In 1840 he was hired as the successor of Heinrich Proch to the theater in Josefstadt, where he stayed until 1846. From 1850 until his retirement in 1870 he worked at the Burgtheater as Kapellmeister. As a composer, Titl created numerous songs and stage music for both of the above theaters. His greatest success was the Singspiel Der Zauberschleier by Franz Xaver Told, which contained the song A Wirtsg'schäft, which was extremely popular at the time, is really not bad.In 1898 the Titlgasse in Vienna-Hietzing was named after him. Titl's Serenade was composed for flute and horn with orchestra or piano accompaniment. With a lilting Bel Canto style in 12/8, its lyric melody features passages of filigree work that will excite and challenge the musician's technical as well as expressive capabilities. The piece is ideal for contest or recital for the intermediate player. This edition for flute, horn and orchestra is based in 2 sources , a set or parts published in 1896 by the French publisher E. GALLET plate n. G.5688 and a manuscript of the parts from Austrian National Library and has been carefully arranged and edited by James Strauss. All the discrepancies between the sources were corrected and for the very first time in a Full Score format.

This is a simple arrangement for string orchestra of Jolly Old St. Nicholas, Good King Wenceslas and Adeste Fideles (O Come All Ye Faithful).Only the key of G is used and there are no accidentals. There is an optional advanced first violin part with some third position work to provide a challenge for more advanced players. The standard first violin is the same but an octave lower. The second violin part is almost identical but with some harmony notes. Dotted rhythms and hooked bowings have been using sparingly.The harmony is generally two part between upper and lower strings. The cello varies slightly from the bass to thicken the harmonies.Markings have been kept to a minimum to allow for flexibility, interpretation and to get students in the habit of notating their part.

Particular care is required by the intonation and the creation and substain of the right tone (which are perhaps the biggest challenge by the piece) but the entire music created by the phonemata and the training about it could be very funny and very precious and helpful for an interesting growth of a very fine Choir. The piece won the International Composition Competition Anima Mundi organized by the Opera Primaziale di Pisa in 2009.Stefano Maria TorchioItalian Violinist, Composer and Conductor, spent his education between Italy and the University of Music and Performing Art in Vienna, where he studied Orchestral Conducting with U. Lajovic and J. Wildner and Choir Conducting with E. Ortner and T. Lang. Further studies made Torchio in Violin, Composition and Organ at the Music Conservatory of Padua (his home town).He won prizes by international composition competitions like the Anima Mundi of the Opera Primaziale di Pisa, the A. Casella of the Accademia Chigiana of Siena, In memoriam... Johannes XXIII of Comune di Sotto il Monte, the MiniMusicDrama of Ovada and the Composition Prize of the Music Conservatory of Padua. He also participated by seminaries and masterclasses in Composition and Conducting with important Maestri like Z. Metha, F. Luisi, B. de Billy, S. Young, G. Andretta, A. Corghi, I. Fedele, C. Ambrosini, M. Lichtfuß and R. Vaglini by important Academies and Institution like the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, the R. Romanini Foundation in Brescia and the Accademia L. Perosi in Biella.
