It will be helpful to know your Ab Major scale up to at least 2 octaves. This is the easier version of the song where notes only go up to the high Eb on the a string. If you would like a more challenging version I encourage you to check it out! I purposely wrote this out in the key of the recording so I encourage you to play along with the track. I mainly stuck with the primary melody line here. The last few measures are there because they follow the song, but it is mostly just improvised notes by Ariana in the recording. I encourage you to really take the lyrics to heart. You can make this song your own. It goes beyond just a pretty tune. However, this IS written in the key of Gb major. So it can be a bit of a challenge to keep all the flats in mind. Remember then the only note that is NOT with a flat is the f. You'll want to review your Gb Major 2 octave scale for sure. If you don't feel as comfortable in the upper positions just keep the upper notes in the lower range. This makes it immediately more accessible to earlier-level players. The melody also features twice. First, it is presented quite low in register, entirely in the first position; Second, it is raised up one octave to where it is found in the fourth position and lower.The cue notes were written with the intent to be played. So, have at them if you so choose. If you are intermediate level all of the notes on the page are manageable.This is a cello only version.If you are still working out some technique, leave out the cue notes (and higher melody—the second verse. The melody could be played twice in either the low or high register depending on your level.) Later, come back for those notes and passages that are more difficult after achieving the requisite skills.In general, I think that Metallica’s songs lend well to the cello’s register. I hope this will be a good experience for all.

This rendition of the Minuet in G, now believed to have been composed by Christian Petzold, starts out in 4/4 time, unlike the original piece, and culminates into the traditional tune, Down By the Sally Gardens.  This arrangement is fun to play, and sounds great on its own.  To add even more depth, have a guitarist accompany you.  The suggested tempo of 96 can be adjusted to suit your playing level and the venue.  Watch the video to get a better idea of how this sounds “in person.â€Â  Ideal for weddings, receptions, church services and general performances.  If you prefer to play only the Minuet, simply hold the first “G†in Measure 44 for five beats.  I hope you enjoy!!
