Arrangement of the suite for wind instruments composed by George Frideric Händel in 1749 under contract of George II of Great Britain for the fireworks in London?s Green Park on 27 April 1749. The arrangement consists of four parts: Overture, Alla Siciliana, Bourrée and Minuet.

Very little is known about Pierre Mellarde, even an internet search comes up with virtually nothing, only that the name is probably the Nom-de-Plume of a Mr.R.Price!

The original music was written for Cello & Piano, which I assume is the Solitude A Deux in the title. However, it works beautifully as a Basset Horn solo, subtly accompanied by the Clarinet Quartet, so somewhat like solitude a cinq!!

In 2019, during my stay at Chapada dos Veadeiros in Goiás, Brazil, I went in search of the flavor of the local coffee. Xinguara was recommended to me, which inspired me to compose ten songs, this being the first composition in this series. In this version for Clarinet Quartet, the rhythmic and harmonic elements of these two genres, the baião and the maxixe, are mixed and result in an interesting conversation between the instruments, alternating their accompaniment and solo functions. A fun, uncomplicated piece that gives the listener the energy of a café in the Brazilian cerrado. Try it !!!

Peer Gynt, Op. 23, is the incidental music to Henrik Ibsen's 1867 play of the same name, written by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg in 1875. Grieg later created two suites from his Peer Gynt music.
Solveig's Song is the last movement of suite No. 2, a marvelous melody full of nostalgic feelings.

The Polovtsian Dances, or Polovetsian Dances form an exotic scene at the end of act 2 of Alexander Borodin's opera Prince Igor. The work remained unfinished when the composer died in 1887, although he had worked on it for more than a decade. A performing version was prepared by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Alexander Glazunov.

Clarinet Polka (sometimes known as Grandpa Polka) is apopular musical composition from the end of the 19th century. The piece,performed (as its name implies) as a polka, has a simple and catchy melody,featuring a prominent extended eight-note arpeggio.
