The Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major, K. 467, was completed on 9 March 1785 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, four weeks after the completion of the previous D minor concerto, K. 466 The famous Andante is in the subdominant key of F major It was featured in the 1967 Swedish film Elvira Madigan. As a result, the piece has become widely known as the Elvira Madigan concerto. Neil Diamond's 1972 song Song Sung Blue was based on a theme from the andante movement of the concerto. It is arranged for clarinet quintet.( Eb, 2 Bbs, alto and bass).Alternative Bb parts are provided for the Eb and alto parts.

C Jam Blues is a jazz standard composed in 1942 by Duke Ellington and performed by countless other musicians, such as Dave Grusin, Django Reinhardt, Oscar Peterson, and Charles Mingus, arranged here for Clarinet Quintet.The Eb & Bb Clarinet 4 are optional.As the title suggests, the piece follows a twelve-bar blues form in the key of C major. The tune is well known for being extremely easy to play, with the entire melody featuring only two notes: G and C.A performance typically features several improvised solos. The melody likely originated from the clarinetist Barney Bigard in 1941, but its origin is not perfectly clear.It was also known as Duke's Place, with lyrics added by Bill Katts, Bob Thiele and Ruth Roberts.Ellington's black and white film was produced in 1942. The video depicts a jam session where Ellington begins playing with a double bass before gradually being joined by other members of his band, among them drummer Sonny Greer and trumpeter Rex Stewart. The film title is Jam Session. Western Swing band leader Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys recorded the song sometime between 1945 and 1947 as part of the Tiffany Transcriptions. Bill Doggett recorded a version on his 1958 tribute album Salute to Duke Ellington (King). C Jam Blues was used by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band as the basis of their song The Intro and the Outro. Mulgrew Miller and Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen included the song in their 1999 album The Duets. The Dave Brubeck Quartet performed this live at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival; the recording appears in their album Newport 1958.

Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767543). A simple setting of this pretty carol forclarinet quintet. Each verse the pitch goes up by a tone until the final verse which returns to the original key. Everybody except the Bass has a go at the melody and each verse is harmonised in a different syle. Verse 1 is a solo for Eb clarinet, Verse 2 is a duet for Eb and clarinet 3. Verse 3 adds the 1st clarinet and Bass, Verse 4 is the first verse with all instruments playing. Verse 5 is a trio for clarinets 1, 2, and 3 . Verse 6 uses all instruments for the finale.This is a very simple arrangement and should be playable by any standard of ensemble.

The Eb doesn't always have the tune, in fact the 3rd Clarinet starts after the intro, followed by the other instruments in turn. By the 3rd iteration of the tune I decided to change key and to begin to incorporate other tunes. It's not really a medley, though. The obbligato parts are all original. The two other tunes you might spot are In Dulci Jubilo and O Come All Ye Faithful A fun addition to your Christmas repertoire.
