Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.764728 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by James Pybus. 20th Century,Folk,Traditional. 11 pages. James Pybus #6098273. Published by James Pybus (A0.764728). She's Like the Swallow was first collected in1930 by the British folksong collector Maud Karpeles. The elusive tune was so beautiful, that she felt it must have come from Britain, but today, we recognize She's Like the Swallow as a Newfoundland folksong. This arrangement is for SATB or AATB Saxophone Quartet. It is suitable for a wide variety of concert programs and settings. Duration is 2:53. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

Published by Austin Ralphson (A0.563446). This is a lovely, mainstream pop song which works extremely well at a wedding venue. Simple enough to sight-read by most quartets, it is a good piece to have in the pad.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.527764 Composed by A. Ponchielli. Arranged by Diego Marani. Classical,Concert,Instructional,Opera,Standards. 17 pages. Diego Marani #3432521. Published by Diego Marani (A0.527764). Dance of the Hours (Italian: Danza delle ore) is a short ballet and is the act 3 finale of the opera La Gioconda composed by Amilcare Ponchielli. It depicts the hours of the day through solo and ensemble dances. Later performed on its own, the Dance of the Hours was at one time one of the best known and most frequently performed ballets. It became even more widely known after its inclusion in the 1940 Disney animated film Fantasia where it is depicted as a comic ballet featuring anthropomorphized ostriches, hippos, elephants, and alligators. In this arrangement for sax quartet (Bb Soprano, Eb Alto, Bb Tenor, Eb Baritone) we have the finale of the ballet, a vigorous can-can introduced by an abrupt change of tempo to allegro vivacissimo. .

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.764694 By The Usaf Band. By Giacomo (Dp) Puccini and Giacomo Puccini. Arranged by James Pybus. Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Opera. 11 pages. James Pybus #4355799. Published by James Pybus (A0.764694). Nessun dorma (English: None shall sleep) is an aria from act three of Turandot, and is one of the best-known tenor arias in all opera. Luciano Pavarotti made it one of his signature arias. It is sung by Calaf, il principe ignoto (the unknown prince), who falls in love at first sight with the beautiful but cold Princess Turandot. However, any man who wishes to wed Turandot must first answer her three riddles; if he fails, he will be beheaded. This arrangement for saxophones can be played by either SATB or AATB quartet, with an optional Bass saxophone part which doubles the Baritone part. I would like to believe that Puccini would have approved of this adaptation of what is perhaps his most recognizable aria since the original orchestration for Turandot calls for a very large orchestra that includes two on-stage Alto Saxophones. Duration is 2:34. Please contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com

Arranged by Stephanie Daige. Christian,Christmas,Sacred,Traditional. 24 pages. Stephanie Daige #3245943. The first part can be played on either soprano or alto saxophone, and the other three parts are for alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone. The melody moves around from instrument to instrument in a conversation-like way, with rich harmonies and beautiful descants enhancing the melodies. The medley begins triumphantly in the key of concert F Major, moves soulfully to the parallel minor, then finishes brightly back in F Major. Christmas carols featured are:· Joy to the World· Good King Wenceslas· We Wish You a Merry Christmas· Deck the Halls· God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen· What Child is This?· Ding Dong Merrily on HighI hope you will enjoy performing this medley as much as I have enjoyed arranging it! Audiences are sure to love it. This would work well in a variety of venues during the Christmas season: school concert, church, shopping mall background music, chamber music concert, prelude to a choral performance/ carol sing-along, etc. It’s perfect for anywhere you want to lift people’s spirits with beautiful, familiar seasonal music. Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.891943 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Stephen Davies. Baroque. 34 pages. Stephen Davies #5724575. Published by Stephen Davies (A0.891943). In Bach's own words ..... for the profit and use of musical youth desirous of learning, and especially for the pastime of those already skilled in this study....., we are literally invited by the great man himself, to enjoy playing his music in virtually any combination we like! This unusual combination of the Saxophone Quartet, ie 2 Altos & 2 Tenors is a fitting vehicle for these two pieces from The Well-Tempered Clavier Book 2. The original keys of C Major & Bb Minor have been altered to best suit the range of the 2 Saxes. Also, an opportunity for the Baritone player to get the drinks in !! The Prelude 1 Completely different from the Prelude that opens Book 1, which is mainly broken chords, this opening Prelude to Book 2 features a continuously flowing sequence of melodic ideas. According to Levison, few pieces of traditional music are more purely processive as this. It develops without a break or pause, without arrivals of significance, from beginning to end. Good to play as well!! The Fugue 22 The four voices are distributed throughout the parts, and at 101 bars, it is certainly one of Bach's longest, and definitely one of the most enjoyable to play, especially in a generous acoustic. Also available here in Clarinet Quartet and Wind Quartet (Flt/Ob/Clt/Bsn) flavours!!

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1124953 By Hugh Levey. By Anonymous/Michael Praetorius. Arranged by Hugh Levey. Chamber,Christian,Christmas,Holiday,Renaissance. 15 pages. Woodwindly.com #725724. Published by woodwindly.com (A0.1124953). Saxophone Quartet (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone) This is a delightful and fresh arrangement of this ancient Christmas classic, in Dulci Jubilo. It is fresh because the arranger has chosen not to use the 19th century harmonisation that we are all so familiar with (by Robert Lucas de Pearsall). Instead they have based this new arrangement on the harmonies of the great Renaissance composer, Michael Praetorius, from the first decade of the 17th century. An optional fanfare and postlude, based on other works of Praetorius, are included to set the context of the Renaissance period. The first verse is pure Praetorius, but then the arranger takes us in different and interesting directions while remaining completely faithful to the beautiful melody. There are three differently arranged verses. Duration: 2 minutes, 30 seconds

Satellite to Planet Nine

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.939376 Composed by Adam Grim. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. 111 pages. Adam B. Grim #6196935. Published by Adam B. Grim (A0.939376). Satellite to Planet Nine is a saxophone quartet inspired by the cosmos surrounding planet Earth. The opening movement, Takeoff, is about the mystery and fear surrounding a possibility of another planet - or black hole - yet to be discovered and the beginning of the journey to find it. The second movement, Hymn for the Moon is dedicated to the closest body of natural rock in our solar system. This movement features the tenor saxophone using a mix of disjunct melodies, smooth jazz, and thick chords to produce a movement of both mysticism and peace as the rocket travels by it. Soca for Saturn is the following movement and is inspired by the Trinidadian popular music known as soca. It is the spark of joy and pure energy that holds the astronauts together as they hold their hopes high traveling to a land that might not even exist at all. The fourth movement depicts the first amount of struggle for the team, Solar Flares, which batter and beat at the crew as they try to find a way through. In the movement the mood is instantly changed with the realization that it is too calm, and soon, meet the purest form of heat and energy. Movement five continues the struggle, but this time with hasty success. Arrival continues where the fourth movement leaves off, but finally they see something in the distance – the planet they have been looking for. They prepare for landing, but with their equipment being nearly destroyed from the solar flares it is not smooth landing. In the final movement, New Gravity, the team ventures out into the new world, which is dark and barren. They feel a disturbing presence around them, and as they search further and further into the cold and dusty landscape, they realize what they are up against – survival. Using what they know, they build on their wreckage and create a new home - The Satellite to Planet Nine.

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1313887 Composed by James Lord Pierpont. Arranged by Ander. Children,Christmas. 31 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #902609. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1313887). Are you looking for a fun and creative way to play Jingle Bells, the famous Christmas song? Then you will love this arrangement for Tenor Saxophone Quartet, which explores the theme in different styles, from waltz to samba. In this arrangement, you will find a slow and gentle opening, which introduces the theme of the melody with delicacy and elegance, followed by a cheerful and lively version, which follows the original version of the song, with striking rhythm and simple harmony. Then, you will be charmed by a waltz version, which gives a different charm to the music, with smooth and graceful movements, and be infected by a samba version, which brings a Brazilian touch to the music, with dancing beat and elements of the samba root. Next, you will be moved by a sad and melancholic version, in minor tone, which shows a touching side of the music, with expressiveness and sensitivity. Finally, you will have fun with a return of the cheerful version, which explores the theme in different tones, with solos divided among all the voices of the arrangement, creating an impression of jumping party. This arrangement is ideal for Christmas parties, in chamber music groups, and can be used in recitals and concerts, inside or outside the academy. It is a different and innovative way to perform this beautiful music, which will surprise and delight your audience. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1313577). Are you looking for a fun and creative way to play Jingle Bells, the famous Christmas song? Then you will love this arrangement for Sax Quartet, which explores the theme in different styles, from waltz to samba. Johann Sebastian Bach/Wehage Goldberg Variations, BWV 988, - SATB saxophone Quartet, bari
Quatuor de Saxophones: 4 saxophones

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.532734 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Paul Wehage. Baroque. 21 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #1917. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.532734). The Aria with 30 variations which form the work which is known as the « Goldberg » variations is one of the greatest works of Bach. It is his only work which uses the form of variations and through three series of ten variations each, it explores a myriad of musical genres and styles. The initial Aria, which seems to be rather trite and banal at the beginning of the work, is magnified through these transformations and the da capo at the end brings us back to the beginning, which has been changed by the musical journey itself. As a sort of musical « initiation », it has become a work which sparks the imagination and which creates an atmosphere all it’s own. The story of how the work came to be written has to come to us through Bach’s first biographer, Johann Nikolaus Forkel in 1805, seventy-five years after the death of Bach. It would seem that a certain Count Keyserlingk, the Russian Ambassador to the Court of Dresden, had difficulty sleeping and asked Bach to compose a work which his protégé, a harpsichord virtuoso by the name of Goldberg, could play in a salon near his bedroom to help him sleep in the evening. For this commission, Bach was to receive the largest fee of his life, a hundred louis d’or in a golden goblet. It would seem that this story is perhaps more of a legend than anything else, as no goblet was found in Bach’s estate at the end of his life and no documented proof of this story has been found. Goldberg was indeed a student of C. P. E Bach, Bach’s son and the son might have asked his father to write these works for his brilliant student. No manuscript for the Goldberg Variations exists, only a first edition corrected in the hand of Bach which contains certain tempo indications and other markings. The first edition also carried the following title: « Clavierübung, consisting of an Aria with diverse variations for the Harpsichord with two manuals composed for music lovers to refresh their spirits by J. S. Bach ». In this version for Saxophone Quartet, it is important to remember that Bach was writing for the harpsichord and not for the Piano-forte. Bach did indeed know of the Piano-forte and played one of the first instruments produced, but it would seem that he did not care much for this new instrument. To find something akin to the precise, clearly defined attacks of the harpsichord, precise articulation and clarity of sound must be the first priority. In general, even in the slowest movements, the attacks must take precedent over all other elements of performance. If the need for clarity of line and precision of attack is respected, the inherent musicality contained in the work should be evident, even in this new form.. As Bach himself transcribed many of his own works and those of others, I would like to hope that he would find this question to be interesting and the results to be surprising...

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.764738 Composed by Anthony Hopkins. Arranged by James Pybus. Contemporary,Contest,Festival. 29 pages. James Pybus #6384387. Published by James Pybus (A0.764738). Welsh actor, director, film producer and composer Anthony Hopkins has won many awards in his long career, including two Academy Awards, four BAFTAs, two Emmys and the Cecil B. Demille Award. In 1993 he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the arts. In a 2012 interview, Hopkins stated, I've been composing music all my life and if I'd been clever enough at school, I would like to have gone to music college. As it was, I had to settle for being an actor. His compositions cover a wide range of genres. And The Waltz Goes On dates from 1964 but was not performed until 2011 when André Rieu and his orchestra premiered the piece in Vienna. This arrangement for SATB Saxophone Quartet with optional Double Bass is suitable for a variety of programs and concert settings. It is both challenging and rewarding to play and should appeal to a wide audience. Duration is 5:20. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

La Waltz Triste (Saxophone Quartet version)

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.764635 Composed by James Pybus. Contemporary,Contest,Festival. 27 pages. James Pybus #34115. Published by James Pybus (A0.764635). La Waltz Triste is an original composition playable by either SATB or AATB Saxophone Quartet, both with an optional Bass Saxophone part which doubles the Baritone part. Performance time is 3:10. As the title would suggest, it has a rather sad and melancholic feel. Several events in my personal life of a tragic nature which occurred during the year it was written (2014) have subconsciously contributed to this feeling, including in May 2014 the loss of a friend and colleague, followed in September by the loss of my father-in-law. An ongoing health issue which began in April prevented me from playing and performing to the best of my ability. Thankfully this issue has resolved itself; there is a ray of hope for the future. Not wanting to wallow in self-pity, I look forward to more cheerful days ahead. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.
