The Liberty Bell for Saxophone Quartet (SATB or AATB)The Liberty Bell is ideal for any concert programmes that have an American, patriotic, or military focus. In the UK it will be a popular addition to Film & TV based programmes because of the march's use as the theme for Monty Python's Flying Circus.Sousa’s The Liberty Bell (March) for Military Band was published in 1893 and became an immediate hit. It was originally scored for: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 4 horns, 2 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, cymbals, bass drum, snare drum, and strings. However, it is often performed today by a standard Military Band, consisting of woodwind, brass, and percussion sections. An abbreviated version of Liberty Bell was used as the theme tune for the British television comedy sketch show, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, which ran from 1969 to 1974.This arrangement for Sax Quartet consists of the whole March with its Trio section. The dynamic shaping is based on that used by The President’s Own Band, but these are mostly editorial so can be changed by the performers. The full length is 3 minutes 35 seconds, but there is an optional ending at 2 minutes 35 seconds.

This well known March of the Siamese Children is from The King and IÂ a musical by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. Its script is based on the book Anna and the King of Siam by Margaret Landon. The plot comes from the story written by Anna Leonowens, who became a school teacher to the children of King Mongkut of Siam in the early 1860s. The musical opened on Broadway at the St. James Theatre on March 29, 1951, and starred Gertrude Lawrence as Anna, and a then mostly unknown Yul Brynner as the King. It ran for 1,246 performances and won Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Actress, Best Featured Actor, Best Scenic Design and Best Costume Design. The musical was filmed in 1956 with Brynner re-creating his role opposite Deborah Kerr; the film won 5 Academy Awards. Jeopardy! is an American television game show created by Merv Griffin (July 6, 1925 – August 12, 2007). Currently in its 40th season, Jeopardy! is one of the longest-running game shows ever. The daily syndicated version premiered in 1984 with Canadian-born Alex Trebek as host and Johnny Gilbert as announcer, (who is still currently in the announcer role). Trebek hosted until his death, with his last episode airing on January 8, 2021, after over 36 years in the role. Several hosts were then auditioned, culminating with the current host Ken Jennings, himself a former contestant. Since the debut of Jeopardy! in 1964, several songs and arrangements have been used as the theme music, most of which were composed by Griffin.
