Somewhere, My Love, also know as Lara's Theme is the name given to aleitmotif written for the film Doctor Zhivago (1965) by composer MauriceJarre. By special request of Connie Francis, Paul Francis Webster later tookthe theme and added lyrics to it to create Somewhere,My Love. In 1967, Somewhere, MyLove was nominated for the Grammy Award for Song of the Year. It lost to Michelle by The Beatles. Francis also had her version released as a single, and although itfailed to chart in the US, it became one of her biggest successesinternationally. This arrangement, suitable for concerts and many other occasions, is playable by either SATB or AATB Saxophone Quartet, with optional Bass Saxophone doubling the Baritone. Duration is 2:40. The piece is technically quite difficult and, curiously, it is the lower instruments which have the hardest parts - the baritone sax having some altissimo passages and, eventually, ending the piece with a brief elegiac solo in the pibroch piping tradition. The piece is essentially lyrical and even vocal in character, thereby following Grainger's idea of the saxophone family (SATB) as a parallel to the family of human voices.

The title comes from the name of the mountain, Mount Alaric, in South West France, opposite the Chateau where .Gavin Bryars .spent the summer. No-one seemed to know which of the two King Alarics the name referred to.

Linus and Lucy is a popular jazz pianocomposition written by Vince Guaraldi, appearing in many of the Peanutsanimated television specials. Named for the fictional siblings Linus and Lucyvan Pelt, it was released in 1964 on the Vince Guaraldi Trio's album Jazz Impressions of a Boy Named CharlieBrown. A Charlie Brown Christmas introduced thesong to a television audience of millions of children beginningin 1965. Since that special, the piece has introduced most of the Peanuts TVcartoons, with the exceptions of the specials and other TV programs producedbetween 1979 and 1992. It is one of the most recognizable pieces by Vince Guaraldi, and hasgained status as the de facto theme song of the Peanuts franchise. The famous Jazz standart "Four brothers" written by Jimmy Giuffre in an arrangement for Saxophone Quartet (Alto 1 + 2, Tenor, Baritone). The title was originally played by the saxophon section of the Woody Herman orchestra (3 tenor saxes and 1 bariton sax) which was named "Four Brothers" after that song.
