The piece is technically quite difficult and, curiously, it is the lower instruments which have the hardest parts - the baritone sax having some altissimo passages and, eventually, ending the piece with a brief elegiac solo in the pibroch piping tradition. The piece is essentially lyrical and even vocal in character, thereby following Grainger's idea of the saxophone family (SATB) as a parallel to the family of human voices.
The title comes from the name of the mountain, Mount Alaric, in South West France, opposite the Chateau where .Gavin Bryars .spent the summer. No-one seemed to know which of the two King Alarics the name referred to.

This is probably the most beautiful song ever written. I wasn't much on Country music until I heard this. The harmonies are so tight. This is the first single by Restless Heart that made it big. There was a show on RFD-TV called Larry's Country Diner (now it's The Best Of Larry's Country Diner). They have released songs from this hit variety series. This arrangement is from the release when Restless Heart appeared on the show. It's still as hot as it ever was. Duration = 4:47. Unsquare Dance is an iconic musical piece written by the American jazz composer Dave Brubeck in 1961.Written in 7/4 time, the piece is a typical example of Brubeck's exploration of time signatures. According to Brubeck, it was written during a single trip from his home to the recording studio and was recorded the same day. Based on a blues form, the piece is driven by a strong bass figure, with percussion provided primarily by the rim of the snare drum and hand claps. Unsquare Dance was initially included on the album Time Further Out and even became a hit single, peaking at #74 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. This arrangement is for SATB Saxophone Quartet, with optional percussion. It was written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon based on McCartney's original idea.[2] The song was released in the United Kingdom in December 1964 on the album Beatles for Sale. In the United States, it was first issued as a single in February 1965 before appearing on the North American release Beatles VI. The song was the band's seventh number 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, a run of US chart success achieved in just over a year. The single was also number 1 in Canada, Belgium and the Netherlands. The Beatles recorded Eight Days a Week at EMI Studios in London in October 1964. The track opens with a fade-in, marking the first time that this technique had been used on a pop studio recording.
