Published by oh2Musikk (A0.1023975). How can your trombone quartet gain more audience? By playing with other people. You want your concerts to be well visited and to help you with that, I make arrangements (and compositions) for trombonequartet with guitar, piano, bass and drums. They also contain an optional bass-trombone/ tuba part and sometimes a solo part. This one contains a trombone solo part. This arrangement of A Whole New World, is scored for Solo Trombone in front of the ensemble mentioned above. There are two solo parts in the set. One high and and one low. You can combine those two if that makes you more comfortable. Durata: 3,5 minutes (approx.) The song itself is about Alladin taking Jasmine on a ride on the magic carpet. The lyrics are all about discovering what you didn’t know about and be grateful for all the adventures life gives. This makes it a perfect piece to play in a variety of places, like weddings, celebrations of any kind, graduations, not to mention many types of concerts. With a few adjustments you can also use parts of this arrangement and make it work. It’s most powerful when you use the whole band, but it still makes a lot of sense if you have to skip some of the parts. There are so many times I have had to skip a piece in a concert, using a not as good substitute, because we didn’t have the people to play it. Long Road to Georgia is a simple trad jazz tune, written at a time when I felt a longing to be back home (which isn't Georgia, that just had a better ring to it than my actual home).Do check out the recording for a mock-up rendition. The strings are improvised and aren't necessary, but make the song sound a bit sweeter. The last play-through of the tune in the recording is done with other instruments improvising around the tune for a proper Dixieland feel. I wholeheartedly recommend this - it adds so much to the overall feel if you've got other instruments noodling around. The slow, simple chord progression makes this a really good tune for people who are newer to jazz & improvisation.

It is in ternary form in concert E flat major and in 12/8 time with a sax lead and a impro solo written out, although this, as in other areas, can be replaced by own solos. The piano part also has chords included to give flexibility- or to use other keys/rhodes, synth etc. An additional chord chart with top line part has also been included so the piece can be expanded to use other concert instruments like rhythm guitar. The full score is 16 pages (without the D.S.) and is 6 mins long. Set to advanced intermediate level, but the whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability.Price is for full score and all parts.

This original piece, like its title says, is a kind of warm tune fully arranged for Jazz Dectet (3-2-1-4) starting with spun sounds to center the pitch for all the band while the rhythm drives easyly from standard light swing to hal-time feeling and double-time feeling adding some punches and breaks here and there. The second half of the tune covers all harmonized major scales in all  twelve keys inserting breaks and punches and short solos too. First in the set list, this piece is a must, it has been created as a starting warm up for the whole band, for each and every rehearsal.
