The original has been transcribed for a piano to accompany a treble instrument like flute, violin, oboe, etc. The piano score has the second voice on treble and the third voice on the bass clef of the grand staff. The flute part is in a smaller size staff above the piano grand staff. A companion book for the flute, or other treble instrument, is also available. In addition, an audio cd has been made where the flute is in the right channel, and the piano accompaniment in the left channel. This cd is useful as a practice tool to let either player practice with a recording.. All are in the original key. Violins and clarinets can play Sinfonia 15 in the original key of B minor, but the flute range doesn’t go low enough. So Sinfonia 15 has an additional version transposed to E minor so that a flute can play the low notes of the melody line without jumping octaves. Saxophones and other instruments can play the flute part without transposing if the accompanist has an electronic keyboard. to transpose the piano part. Teil beginnt mit einer Einleitung in ruhigem Zeitmaß, welcher eine lebhafte Passacaglia folgt, deren zweistimmige Bassfigur, zunächst vom Klavier vorgetragen, von Variation zu Variation durch verschiedene Instrumentengruppen in höhere Lagen gezogen wird, bei gleichzeitigem und regelmäßigem Sich-Steigern des Tempos, bis sie zum Schluss durch die hohen Violinen hindurch in das Anfangszeitmaß einmündet. Der 2. Teil beginnt in der Schluss-Stimmung des ersten und wechselt dann in eine vorwiegend von Blechbläsern getragene Periode von erregten Signalen und Rufen, welchen ein ruhiges, auf gleichmäßiger Achtelbewegung liegendes Andantino folgt, in dem Holzbläser, Harfe und Vibraphon konzertieren. Dieses Andantino wird in zwei Hälften geteilt durch einen Hymnus der Streicher und Bläser. Die zweite Hälfte des Andantino gleitet in einen stillen und aphoristischen Epilog über. Der 3. Teil ist eine lebhaft bewegte Folge kleiner Gruppen und Kurzmotive, deren formale Herkunft sich jeweils aus den rhythmischen und spannungsmäßigen Gegebenheiten des Vorhergegangenen erklärt. Kurz vor der Stretta liegt noch eine ruhige Strecke: Ein von Glockeninstrumenten umspielter Kanon der Violoncelli und Violinen. - Hans Werner Henze.

One of the first things that comes to one's mind when reading the title of Organ Symphony No. 9 'Pathétique' by Enjott Schneider is another work with this epithet: Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6. And that is no coincidence: The composer regards his organ work as an homage to this 'elder sister'. While Tchaikovsky, in a secret programme, made out his own life to be a struggle and long ordeal to the point of his suspected suicide, Enjott Schneider presents those hours as the ultimate tale of woe in which Jesus had well and truly become human, fatefully bearing the pain and misery of all people. 'Gethsemane', 'Geiselung: Ecce homo', 'Golgatha' and 'Grablegung': Maria Magdalena' are the names of the stages and movements. In his Organ Symphony No. 8 'In Memoriam', following an idea of the cathedral organist Silvius von Kessel from Erfurt (and dedicatee of the work), Enjott Schneider carries on where Anton Bruckner left off, processes themes from the latter's Symphony No. 8 variatively and contrasts it to 'Haus-Choral des Erfurter Doms', 'Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme'. Bruckner's material is used as a starting point and further developed by Schneider in four movements: typically enough, the initial movement is called 'Metamorphosen' before an almost eerie atmosphere is created in a 'Scherzo sinistro'. The twelve-note series (in the third movement), embedded in a transcendental mood, eventually develops into the chorale which, now as main theme of the finale, amalgamates with Bruckner's stylistic moments and leads to a magnificent end - an exciting and rousing piece of music.Enjott Schneider knüpft in seiner Orgelsinfonie Nr. 8 In Memoriam an Anton Bruckner an, verarbeitet variativ Themen aus dessen Sinfonie Nr. 8 und stellt diese aber dem Choral Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme gegenüber.
