Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.835452 Composed by Stuart Brown. 20th Century,Contemporary,World. Octavo. 211 pages. Stuart Brown Music #5990681. Published by Stuart Brown Music (A0.835452). A fantastic offer price for the full score and all parts! ... Looking for something to add a sense of oriental exoticism to your amateur orchestral/choral concert? This may be what you're looking for! This charming little suite of six dances lasts about 15½ minutes. It consists of a Pavane, Bourée, Sarabande, Allemande, Basse Danse and Galliard, which vary widely in character. As a whole the suite provides some interesting challenges for both performers and listeners. Apart from conventional strings, flute and harp (which can be either pedal or lever) you will need:- One or maybe two Arabian ouds. The parts are playable also on a fretless acoustic guitar. (Needs to be fretless because of the quarter-tones in some of the Arabic modes used.)- A cimbalom (the part can be played on a piano also, with slight modification). You might get away with using a hammered dulcimer but you'd need to make a number of compromises.- A doumbek and a djembe. These beautiful drums are a must for Middle-Eastern or African music. They're fairly easy to find, though finding somebody who can play them properly may take a bit more doing!- Finger cymbals and a gong. These are regular western instruments.- A wind-chime. Anything that produces a nice shimmering spangle of sound will probably do!- A group of singers (SATB). Nothing particularly challenging but see below. The primary oud part, the strings and the singers need to have sufficiently good intonation to pitch quarter tones. These are the exception rather than the rule, but nevertheless play an important part in the character of the music. Apart from this, the music is relatively straightforward and probably playable by any reasonably competent amateur or high school orchestra. In the spring of 2020 I wrote a set of short music tracks for a charity of which I'm a trustee. In order to protect my intellectual property rights in the music, I decided to bring it together into an attractive if not intellectually challenging little suite, hence An Omani Dance Suite. Originally the dances were all in Arabic quarter-tone temperament, but obviously quarter-tones cannot be played easily (if at all) on the flute, harp and cimbalom. So I have made some adjustments but retained the Arabic temperament wherever reasonably possible. I had thought initially of using a santur instead of a cimbalom, but the santur lacks the range and the dynamic capability to be used with a string chamber orchestra. The cimbalom doesn't need to be a concert grand model; in fact it doesn't even need to have dampers. The Omani was something of an afterthought: a musician friend of mine had worked in Oman and commented on how authentically Omani the Basse Danse sounded. The period of composition coincided with a time when I was really missing friends in Vietnam and Romania, so somehow influences from those countries found their way into the music.I'm not bothering with performing rights for this - just go away and enjoy the music! ... but if it inspires you find out more about the charity work that inspires me, feel free to get in touch!https://www.facebook.com/stuartbrownmusic/

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano,Soprano Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533210 Composed by Ali Ben Sou Alle. Arranged by Paul Wehage. Concert,Folk,Holiday,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 17 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #1986205. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533210). One of the most enigmatic figures in the history of the Saxophone, Ali Ben Sou Alle (c was born in 1820 in Arras, France. After receiving his first prize in Clarinet at the Paris Conservatory in 1844. he served as the director of music of The French Marine Band in Senegal, and then was named first clarinet solo at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. However, after the Revolution of 1848, Soualle was forced to flee France to England where he settled in London, playing in the Orchestra of the Queen's Theatre. His songs and piano pieces were published in London. While in London, Soualle met another exiled French musician, Louis Antoine Jullien, who conducted a light music series in London. Jullien encouraged Soualle to take up the saxophone, and after modifying the instrument by adding a single octave mechanism (the modern system used today) and keys for the lower register, Soualle became known as a virtuoso and began touring performing solo recitals (or mono-concerts, as they were called at the time). He performed in all the European capitals and then traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Manilla, Java, through China and then to India where he finally settled in Mysore, becoming the director of the Royal Music for the Maharadjah. It was during this period that he converted to Islam and changed his nmae to Ali ben Sou Alle (or Ali, son of Soualle). He subsequently travaled to Ile Maurice, to French Polynesia, the Cap of Natal and the Cap of Good Hope. All of these voyages were subjects of musical works which Soualle entitled Souvenirs de... and may perhaps have been part of a collection known as The Royal Album which was presented to the Prince of Wales after a royal concert. Soualle returned to Mysore in 1858 and was almost killed in the Indian Revolution. Around 1860, Soualle returned to France for health reasons and began publishing his own music. On March 27 1865, he performed a command performance for the Emperor Napoleon III at the Tuileries Palace in the presence of the entire Imperial Family. After 1865, nothing more is known about him. Divertissement sur Une Ballade Irlandaise begins with a lyric introduction in bel canto style. The Irish Ballade is named in the score as « My Lodging is on the Cold Ground », but is sometimes known as « Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms » and is followed by a brilliant variation. After an ornamented modal passage in 6/8, the allemande theme is presented first in a moderate tempo, and then in a more rapid variant which uses « cross string » figerations similar to those used by fiddlers.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.750785 Composed by E. T. Paull (1908). Arranged by Brendan Elliget MAGA 537. Contemporary. Score and parts. 115 pages. BJE Music #3567783. Published by BJE Music (A0.750785). The Home Coming March (1908) - Concert Band Score and Parts PDF Music by: ET Paull Of course, eventually, all the soldiers and sailors had to eventually come home from all the battles and Paull had that eventuality well covered also. The artwork on the front cover (of unknown origin) is one that is full of imagery that covers all aspects of the services, Army and Navy and is full of patriotic and familial ideals. The border lists all of the US States and the corner pictures depict aspects of homecoming. The main image is a parade of victory. Let's let Paull explain it all to us as he did on the inside cover. Why This Piece Of Music Was Named The Home Coming March Explanatory When the author had about completed the music of the present march, it occurred to him that it might be well to have suggestions made from a number of people, recommending a good name for same, for after all there is considerable in a name. He, therefore, had a special advertisement placed in several of the leading music Journals throughout the country, offering a prize of $10.00 in gold to anyone suggesting a name that would be accepted. Over three thousand names were sent in from all parts of the country, even from far away New Zealand and Australia, in which countries the author's marches are universal favorites. Included in the letters received was one from Mr. W. C. Bates, Secretary of the Sheffield Advertising Agency of New York and Chicago, in which he suggested the name The Home Coming March. After due consideration, this name was accepted, and the prize was awarded and paid to Mr. Bates, who stated that he was prompted to recommend this name on account of having been present during the impressive celebration of Old Home Week in Boston, Mass., last year. Probably no one idea is so universally dominant in the mind of the Human Race as that of home, or matters pertaining to home. The author believes that the name selected is one that will appeal to everyone; as the many pleasant associations with the words Home Coming are almost without limit. The title page of this march is without any exception the handsomest seen on a piece of music. The main body of the title pace represents a street scene, with buildings decorated and shows a handsome royal Arch of Welcome in the foreground, gaily decorated with flags, emblems, and bunting. A band is shown passing under the arch, leading a procession of the Home Guard, and thousands of people waving handkerchiefs, banners, flags, etc. Four smaller scenes also appear on the page, one representing the Home Coming of the soldier from war; another scene shows the Home Coming of the sailor boys embarking from their battleships; another scene represents the Home Coming reunion of the family and loved ones; the fourth scene represents the Home Coming of the father from work, where a little tot has been watching and waiting, and runs to meet him. The whole design of the title page is then surrounded by a border of differently designed medallions, on which appears the names of all the States of the Union, making without a doubt, the most unique and attractive title page ever conceived for a piece of music. One thing Paull mastered early in his career was the art of overstatement! Musically, this march is beginning to show the repetitiveness of many of Paull's works, especially evident as time passed. Once Paull found the formula (a fabulous cover and a playable, rousing march) that sold music, he stuck with it and was quite successful as a result. This arrangement is for Full Concert Band with the original optional piano part ( Not on the score). There are parts for Trombones 1 and 2 in TC and BC as well as parts of Euphonium in TC and BC. The MP3 was recorded with NotePerformer 3.Grade = 3.5 Duration =.

Small Ensemble Marimba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845300 By Elvis Presley. By George David Weiss, Hugo Peretti, and Luigi Creatore. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Film/TV,Pop,Rock,Wedding. Score and parts. 6 pages. Phil Beaman #6690329. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.845300). Can't Help Falling In Love was made famous by Elvis Presley on his album and film Blue Hawaii. My arrangement takes it from a 60's pop song to a gentle jazz ballad. It is totally reharmonized and has a fresh new feel. The melody is the same, except it has a new Time Signature. The song was originally in 6/8 but I have set it in 1/2 in order to get the pulse and phrasing I want. (Yes, 1 minim/half note per bar.) The original accompaniment was broken arpeggios, but now it is all about the rich new blocked chords. With repeats and a D.S. I have covered all 4 verses and bridges. Enjoy a fresh take on this forever classic. Great for nostalgia concerts. 3 pages score, 1 page parts; all parts in Treble ClefPart I -- single note melodyPart II -- countermelody or 2 note chordsPart III -- up to 4 note chords

Venite Adoremus means O Come Let Us Adore Him, Christ the Lord. I thought it sounded nice to have it in 5 part strings - taking turns between the high and low strings and then all together. - all parts are included in purchase. cdboss@cvalley.netLyrics Below: O Come Let Us Adore Him (Venite Adoremus, Dominum)  (Medley of In the Bleak Midwinter, Gesu Bambino and The Snow Lay on the Ground  In the bleak midwinter, frosty winds made moan Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone Snow had fallen snow on snow, snow on snow. In the bleak midwinter, long, long, ago.  When blossoms flower amid the snow, upon a winter night Was born the Child, the Christmas Rose, The King of Love and Light.  Venite Adoremus, Dominum Venite Adoremus, Dominum  Twas Mary daughter pure of Holy Anne. That brought into this world the God made man She laid Him in a stall at Bethlehem. The ass and oxen shared the roof with Him.  Again the heart with rapture glows, to greet the Holy night. That gave the world it’s Christmas Rose, it’s King of Love and Light  Venite Adoremus, Dominum Venite Adoremus, Dominum  And thus that manger poor became a throne, for He whom Mary bore was God the Son O come then let us join the heav’nly host to praise the Father, Son and Holy Ghost  O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord  O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord Venite Adoremus, Dominum!

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.749239 By Justin Bieber Duet With Mariah Carey. By Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff. Arranged by HELEN MARPLE-HORVAT. Contemporary. 39 pages. Helen Marple-Horvat #6196305. Published by Helen Marple-Horvat (A0.749239). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSx1esb0D0wMariah Carey released this critically acclaimed song in 1994 and it has remained a popular snowy-season Christmas standard ever since. I originally arranged it for Voice with Quartet accompaniment in F, with my daughter, Alice Rose Wild, who sings on the live recording. You can hear our recording of the whole song on my channel if you type in Skinny Black Dogs, Capriccio Quartet, ‘All I want for Christmas’ into Youtube. More recently I have created this version for String Quartet in the key of G. At the moment I have only the Sibelius computer score, and hope to record it with Capriccio Quartet once the covid pandemic is at an end. Suspend your disbelief! Why choose my Arrangement? The arrangement is in a great key for strings and most of the double stopping includes an open string. In one or two places the double stopping is a bit more tricky, so for younger players it would be better perhaps to miss out one of the notes, or to play them consecutively. The Intro. For the first violinist I include two versions of the intro and recommend that the quartet listen to the original, or to Alice’s recording for speed and performance tips. It is quite difficult to get the computer to do it musically, so the video intro is only intended as a rough guide. One of the enclosed options is intended as a rehearsal version, and has the lyrics to help. I have bowed it to include lots of downbows, and recovery of bows, which will help the other members to follow. The tricky sextuplet and triplet ornament at bar 10 can be omitted altogether. Simply pause on the ‘C’ and then recover the downbow for the next bar.I also include two versions of the violin two and viola parts. One is on two pages as a smaller font, and one on three pages with a larger font. For cellists who are a bit daunted by the solo at letter A , simply play the fourth position semi breve Gs at bar 12 and at bars 13 and 14 too, and revert to the original score at bar 15. ie Six semibreve Gs. Perhaps a harmonic D at bar 15 would be easier than a shift at this point, and then join in unison with the rest of the band. The song moves between a straight crotchet pulse and lots of syncopated lines. This will be difficult to read on paper, but I always recommend listening to the song many times and then doing it by ear, using the notes on the page as a guide. Try not to play them too literally.PrintoutsPages 1 - 10 are for Look Inside Options only.Pages 11 - 28 includes all PartsPage 29 onwards is the optional Score for rehearsals. The vocal version is proving popular, but for a standard quartet Wedding and Events repertoire I hope that people will enjoy this arrangement. Send me recordings on facebook, even if they are phone rehearsals. I love to hear them, and to make contact with quartets around the world!

String Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522219 Composed by Various. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Christmas,Holiday,Renaissance,Wedding. Score and parts. 20 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #3879701. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522219). Arranged for strings, keyboard, any C-pitched instruments, simple percussion and other instruments by Colin KirkpatrickIn this series, Renaissance Hits for Strings, some of the most well-known dances from Terpsichore are included. They are all attractive pieces and are sure to be popular at any concerts or end-of-semester events. They are fairly easy to play too and the flexible instrumentation allows any players to take a solo with the melody part. They can be played by string quartet, string orchestra or ideally string ensemble plus any other C-pitch instruments that happen to be available. This publication consists of a score showing the four-part ensemble, keyboard and percussion parts. There are separate parts for violin 1, violin 2, viola (violin 3), cello/bass, percussion and keyboard. Additional instruments are not essential but they add contrasting tone colour. The keyboard part is intended as a guide and when possible the keyboard player should improvise around the part and chords shown. A piano sounds distinctly out of place in this music and a digital or acoustic harpsichord sounds more authentic. Most electronic keyboards have a harpsichord option.Every instrumental part (except percussion) also shows the melody line. This allows anyone to take a solo and play the melody, while the other players remain tacet. Solos can be decided in advance and the parts marked accordingly. Just cross out what you don’t need! The percussion instruments used are similar to those found in elementary school music rooms and usually include a small bass drum or hand-held drum, clave or small headless tambourine. Two players are usually required and the parts can be interpreted quite freely. Dance music is intended to be fun, and we hope that this arrangement brings you just that.

Brass Ensemble Euphonium,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845306 By Elvis Presley. By George David Weiss, Hugo Peretti, and Luigi Creatore. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Film/TV,Pop,Rock,Wedding. Score and parts. 19 pages. Phil Beaman #6718209. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.845306). Great for weddings and nostalgic concerts. available for several different instrument combinationsinstrument part ranges - 10th Euphonium 1 - E3--G#4Euphonium 2 - E3--E#4Euphonium 3 - G#2--G#3Tuba 1 - B1--D3Tuba 2 - B1--B2Tuba 3 - G1--D3score in Concert Pitch, Bass Clefall parts provided in both clefs; concert pitch bass clef, and treble clef transposed for 3 Bb Euphoniums, 2 Eb Tubas, 1 Bb Tuba7 pages score, 1 page parts2:00 minutes

String Quartet, String Orchestra, Playable by any size string ensemble from quartet upwards - Early Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Various. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Christian, Sacred, Praise & Worship, General Worship. Score, Set of Parts. 65 pages. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications
The Best Hymns of All Time<br> Arranged for Strings by Colin Kirkpatrick<br> <br> Book 3<br> <br> We’re really excited to present the third and last book of our collection of sixty of the best-loved hymns ever composed. The hymns are scored in four parts and could be used with virtually any combination of stringed instruments: string quartet or quintet or any size string ensemble. They are presented in a set of three books and include full four-part instrumental scores plus four separate parts for 1st violin, 2nd violin, viola and cello (and double bass). The bass part is also optional because it doubles the cello part an octave lower. There’s also an optional but useful simplified keyboard part intended for less experienced keyboard players. The left hand plays only the bass part most of the time, with the right hand part kept as simple as possible. The piano part too means that you can use the arrangements as solos, duets or trios. To make the music accessible to less experienced players, the range of the notes has been kept fairly low so that many of the arrangements can be played in first position. However, to produce a brighter and richer sound, a few of the more experienced violinists could play an octave higher. You can hear this effect in the audio samples.<br> <br> These arrangements are intended either as stand-alone pieces that could be used as interludes in a service, or they could be used to accompany solo, choral or congregational singing. This is essential music for schools and many churches and contains probably all the hymns you’ll ever need. The scores and all the parts of Book 2 are contained in a single 65-page PDF file.<br> <br> Book 3 contains the following twenty popular hymns: All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name (Miles Lane); All things Bright and Beautiful (Bright and Beautiful); Alleluia, Sing to Jesus (Hyfrydol); Blessed Assurance (Assurance); Come, Ye Thankful People, Come (St George’s Windsor); Father, Hear the Prayer we Offer (Sussex & Gott Will's Machen); For the Beauty of the Earth (Dix); Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken (Austrian hymn); How Firm a Foundation (Foundation); Jesu, Lover of my Soul (Hollingside); Jesus Loves Me, This I Know (Jesus Loves Me); Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee (Hymn to Joy); Kum Ba Yah (Afro-American folksong); Mine Eyes have Seen the Glory (Battle Hymn of the Republic); O God, Our Help In Ages Past (St. Anne); Morning has Broken (Bunessan); Praise to the Lord the Almighty (Lob den Herren); Shall We Gather at the River? (Hanson Place); The God of Abraham Praise (Leoni); When Peace Like a River (Ville du Havre).<br> <br> The audio samples include (1) All things Bright and Beautiful, (2) How Firm a Foundation, (3) Kum Ba Yah and (4) Morning has Broken. The music has been set in string-friendly keys so they are not compatible with the brass collection of the same name. The Best Hymns of All Time<br> Arranged for Strings by Colin Kirkpatrick<br> <br> Book 3<br> <br> We’re really excited to present the third and last book of our collection of sixty of the best-loved hymns ever composed. Woodwind Ensemble Clarinet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.782418 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by James Haynor. Romantic Period. 35 pages. James Haynor #6381985. Published by James Haynor (A0.782418). Swan Lake, Op. 20, is a ballet composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875–76. Despite its initial failure, it is now one of the most popular ballets of all time. The scenario, initially in two acts, was fashioned from Russian and German folk tales and tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer's curse. Scored here for clarinet quintet, A Night at the Ballet - Swan Lake includes snippets from various parts of the ballet. This arrangement allows this beautiful music to be performed by an ensemble not usually associated with it. ( Duration 6:23 )

This CD contains Mark O'Connor's latest orchestral works: Americana Symphony Variations on Appalachia Waltz(2006) and Concerto No. 6 Old Brass (2003). Sony Classical//BMG label director Gilbert Hetherwick explains; Dvorak and Copland painted symphonic landscapes using melodies inspired by the Americana tradition, and Mark O'Connor actually comes from that tradition itself. He's lived it every day of his life. And you hear it in every note of his Americana Symphony. For the majority of his solo career, O'Connor has dedicated himself to composing for orchestra: he has written six full-length concertos, several orchestral suites and string orchestra compositions, and most recently his first Symphony.David Wallace, Juilliard School faculty member and Senior Teaching Artist with the New York Philharmonic, comments on the overall characteristics of O'Connor's music: The Americana Symphony combines historical narrative with classical and folk variation principles. The Symphony contains instrumental virtuosity, rhythmic drive, poignant lyricism, and probing counterpoint. With the Americana Symphony, Mark O'Connor provides his answer to a question that has intrigued U. S. composers since the debut of Dvorak's New World Symphony in 1892: How do you write the great American Symphony?William Intrilligator, artistic director of the Dubuque Symphony, conducted one of the first performances of the Americana Symphony: Very few pieces of new music have the same emotional and visceral effect as this Symphony, he writes. It has such power and beauty, and these traits are expressed in original ways that are pure O'Connor and truly American.Marin Alsop, artistic director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and this recording's conductor of the Americana Symphony, calls the Symphony simply A hit!
