This collection contains 10 praise choruses notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. For each song, there is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate score for each instrument. A note and chord reference chart is also provided for each song. To aid in the learning and teaching of these songs or for use with other instruments (such as a Ukulele), chord names are included on each Boomwhackers® staff and score. Lyrics are also provided on each score for sing along enjoyment or when using these arrangements as the accompaniment for a unison choir.This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme.  If you have a set of bells or tubes with a different color scheme, Chroma-Notes Stick Ons can be purchased and applied so the instruments match the Boomwhackers® color scheme. Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are full color and easier to distinguish (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. All sharps and flats are displayed as well (shown in the key of C); a helpful reminder for beginning musicians.The number of ringers and whackers needed for each song will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. For more advanced players, each person could be assigned two or three notes. For beginners, it is best to assign one note to each person. No one need be left out in this fun, easy-to-learn arrangement which includes reproducible parts for the congregation and an eclectic ensemble of instruments (flute, oboe, violin, trumpet, clarinet, trombone, cello, saxophone, and others). The lead singer carries the melody while the SATB choir (or quartet) echoes with the harmony parts. After a verse or two, the congregation can join in using the reproducible lead sheet (or since the words are in the public domain, project them on a screen). The score includes four verses (I'm gonna live, work, pray, sing...) but the song can be made as long or short as desired by using fewer verses or repeating some or even adding more words in place of the four suggested. The Lead, SATB, and 2 additional harmony parts (a descant and bass line) are transcribed for C instruments and most parts are also transcribed for B-Flat and E-flat instruments. There is also a separate piano accompaniment score with the melody line (and guitar chords) for reference. Written in the key of F major, the vocal ranges are as follows: Lead--C4 to D5; Soprano--C4 to A4; Alto--A3 to F4; Tenor--F3 to C4; Baritone--C3 to A3. Harmony ScoreThis score can be used in conjunction with the Melody Score to form a duet by providing the accompaniment (harmony) while someone plays or sings the melody. Note numbers below the staff corresponding to the numbers on the drum. Chord names are shown above the staff for playing a rhythmic accompaniment in place of the harmony accompaniment shown. The chord names can also be used for ensemble playing with other instruments (such as a Ukulele or Guitar).Grand StaffThe Grand Staff score combines the Melody Score with the Harmony Score. This score provides a visual overview of how the two scores line up and is helpful for a director or teacher using this set of scores in a group setting. If playing with a partner (a duet), this score may be easier to use since you both can see what the other person is playing. This score includes note numbers above the melody staff and below the harmony staff corresponding to the numbers on the drum; chord names shown above the harmony staff for ensemble playing with other instruments or for using a rhythmic chord accompaniment; and lyrics between the staves for sing along enjoyment. Advanced Solo ScoreThe Advanced Solo score includes harmony notes along with the melody notes to create a fuller sounding solo which can be played with or without singing along. Numbers corresponding to the numbers on the Tongue Drum are included above the staff.Note and Chord ChartThis chart consists of two separate staff rows. The first staff shows the notes used for the melody. The second staff shows the notes in each chord used in this song. Any combination of the notes within a given chord can be played using one of the rhythm patterns.
