There is no major technical difficulties, but the whole piece requires a very delicate yet intense atmosphere.The first third is a duet between the 2 alto flutes. 2nd third allows all other flute voices to have a short solo. Published by RBMusic (A0.752286). ‘Der Schauspieldirektor’ (or ‘The Impresario’), by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was one of two works commissioned by the Austrian Emperor Joseph II for a competition he held in the Orangery at Schönbrunn in 1786. The competition was conceived in an attempt to prove that the German Singspiel - comedy with music - had become as popular as the Italian Opera Buffa - opera where musical numbers were linked by sung recitatives. The Italian entry was written by Antonio Salieri and, to the disappointment of the Emperor, he won the contest (leading to ‘Der Schauspieldirektor’ being one of Mozart’s least performed works). However, considering that it was commission around the time that he was busy writing his comedy ‘Le nozze di Figaro’ (or ‘The Marriage of Figaro’), this really comes as no surprise. ‘Le nozze di Figaro’ was not only an instant success, with 5 numbers encored at its premiere on 1 May 1786 at the Burgtheater in Vienna, but it had also not just lost a music competition.This arrangement is for the UK-style brass band, with alternative parts for horns in F and bass-clef lower brass. The MP3 audio clip is a live performance by a scratch band who had limited rehearsal time. The Five pieces of music which are now known as the Suite for the Mechanical Organ or the Suite for Mechanical Clock (WoO33) surfaced after Beethoven's death, bringing with them several very puzzling mysteries. Most challenging of them all was the instrument for which they were written. Piano, strings, harp and most other common instruments were instantly ruled out, building on the perplexing mystery and adding to the frustration. Eventually, Albert Kopfermann set forth a convincing argument that their strange scoring seemed a perfect fit for the Flötenuhr or Spielühr, a mechanical organ or clock. He observed that the notation in No. 1, in F, matched that in Mozart's K. 608 Fantasia (for Flötenuhr), the score of which Beethoven possessed. Other circumstantial factors pointed to the Flötenuhr as the instrument Beethoven designed these pieces for. None of these five pieces was published until the twentieth century, and, not surprisingly, all are rarely heard.This is my arrangement of Mvt 3 Allegro for a brass trio of 3 trumpets.It will work work equally well with any three similar treble clef brass instruments (i.e all 3 must be in the same key either Bb or Eb)e.g 3 treble clef reading trombones/euphoniums/tubas/cornets or a mixture of cornet/euph/tbn/tuba.Sim. a mix of 3 Eb horns/Eb tubasI have simplified some of the semi quaver passages, and moved some of the notes to fit within the range of the instrument(s).Fun for all 3 players.Enjoy!!

Premiered on May 4, 1795 in London. The masterworks that Haydn created after 1790 were the symphonies he composed for his two visits to England. The last of the important works that Haydn composed in London, and his final contribution to the genre, is the Symphony No. 104 in D major; the composer carefully noted in English on the manuscript’s title page that this Symphony was the 12th which I have composed in England. The work has been known since the 19th century as the London Symphony' The movement begins with a genteel theme, but veers into turbulent emotional territory in its episodes. This movement’s strong expression has led some commentators to suggest that it was Haydn’s musical elegy to his departed friend and colleague, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who died in 1791. This arrangement was produced for the Tintwistle Band CD On The Edge Of the Moors
