SATB choir unaccompanied - Moderately Difficult - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8031-E Composed by Joshua Fishbein. 10 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8031-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8031-E). English. Psalm 19:14 (15).This 2011 winner of the National Lutheran Choir's 25th Anniversary Choral Composition competition uses the text of Psalm 19 in both Hebrew and English. The music blossoms organically from the opening cantorial solo to the final triumphant Amen, using complex counterpoint along the way to propel the text, which is sometimes sung simultaneously in both languages. The music has religious intensity and a modern sensibility.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1324262 Composed by Amos Elkana. 21st Century,Contemporary. Score. 10 pages. Amos Elkana #912460. Published by Amos Elkana (A0.1324262). In this composition, we delve into the enigmatic world of Ikkyu Sojun, a 15th-century Zen Buddhist monk renowned for his poetry that defies conventional boundaries. Ikkyu's work often reflects Zen principles, blending deep philosophical insights with a stark, often provocative simplicity. Among his most striking poems is Crow with No Mouth, a piece that captures the essence of Zen’s emphasis on the ineffable nature of reality and the limits of language.Crow With No Mouth Hearing a crow with no mouthCry in the deepDarkness of the night,I feel a longing forMy father before he was born. In these lines, Ikkyu conjures an image that is as perplexing as it is profound. The crow, a traditional symbol of mystery and the unknown, is rendered even more inscrutable by its lack of a mouth - a paradoxical figure that seems to transcend ordinary existence. This poem encapsulates the Zen concept of mu, or the negation of fixed concepts, challenging the listener to embrace the boundless nature of understanding. In my composition, I have strived to translate this philosophical depth into music. The interplay between the piano and the voice is crafted to reflect the paradoxical imagery of the poem. The music moves through moments of tension and release, mirroring the poem’s journey from perplexity to a serene acceptance of the unknown. This piece is an invitation to explore the spaces between notes, between words, where the essence of understanding might lie.The emotional core of this composition is also deeply personal. It resonates with my own longing for my father, who passed away seven years prior to the creation of this work. Just as Ikkyu's poem reflects a yearning for a connection with the past, this music embodies my own journey of grief, memory, and the search for peace in the echoes of loss. The intertwining of my personal narrative with Ikkyu’s profound words aims to offer a universal contemplation on the themes of absence, longing, and the ephemeral nature of existence. In creating this work, my aim has been to offer not just a musical experience, but a doorway into the profound simplicity of Zen thought. Through the synthesis of voice, piano, and Ikkyu's evocative poetry, we embark on a journey that transcends the mere act of listening, inviting contemplation, and perhaps, a glimpse into the boundless sky of our own perception.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1082546 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Jazz. Score. 38 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #686739. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.1082546). Chick Corea died at the age of 69 on February 9, 2021. I have been a huge fan of his music and piano playing since I heard the album Now He Sings, Now He Sobs (1968). Assisted by Miroslav Vitous and Roy Haynes, Chick was in absolutely rare form on that seminal recording!!! As a tribute to him and a in memoriam to his musicianship, I wrote these movements for solo piano inspired by his compositions in the album Children's Songs (1984). Corea's Children's Songs is a suite of twenty solo piano pieces, each lasting between 1 to 2 minutes. These are truly little gems of composition in miniature, like the Chopin Preludes. But every time I hear them I always felt that these nice little pieces, at least to my ears, always came up short. A lot of them seem to end in mid-air. In my humble opinion, they needed development. But that is of course coming from the mouth of a classical composer, me. LOL!!! Nevertheless, in this tribute, I have taken some ideas from the original Corea songs and reinvented them in my own fashion. You will detect a thing or two from Chick, but mostly it's TOL music. Since my songs get development, the entire suite consists of ten movements, rather than Corea's twenty. Enjoy!!! Children's Song No. 1 ... Moderato Children's Song No. 2 ... Composed by James James. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century, World, European, Patriotic. Score, Set of Parts. 9 pages. Published by Music for all Occasions
An arrangement of the regional anthem of Brittanny for Brass Quintet.

Bro Gozh ma Zadoù (Breton: Old Land of My Fathers) is the anthem of Brittany, sometimes presented as the "national anthem" although it has no official status. It is sung to the same tune as that of the national anthem of Wales, Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau, and has similar words. The Cornish anthem, Bro Goth Agan Tasow, is also sung to the same tune.

The Breton lyrics are the creation of François Jaffrennou in 1897, and the music was that composed by James James, of Pontypridd, Wales, for Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau. The new song was first published in 1898, and circulated as Henvelidigez ("Adaptation"). It was chosen as national anthem (and a song to celebrate friendship between the Welsh and Bretons) in 1903, at a Congress of the Union Régionaliste Bretonne held in Lesneven. Maurice Duhamel adapted it for the piano, and it was first recorded by Pathé in 1910.

James James (also known by the bardic name Iago ap Ieuan) (1833–1902) was a harpist and musician from Pontypridd, Wales. He composed the tune of the Welsh national anthem Hen Wlad fy Nhadau (also known as Land of my Fathers).

He was born on 4 November 1832, at the ’Ancient Druid’ inn, Hollybush, in the parish of Bedwellty, Monmouthshire. He was the son of Evan James (1809-1878) and Elizabeth Stradling of Caerphilly. His father, a Welsh versifier under the pen-name of leuan ab lago, moved with his family about 1844 to Pontypridd, where he carried on the business of weaver and wool merchant. His son James assisted him in the business.

James James composed the melody which was later known as Hen Wlad fy Nhadau in January 1856. At first it was known as Glan Rhondda (The banks of the Rhondda), and gave rise to the tradition that the tune had come to him as he walked on the bank of the River Rhondda. His father, Evan James, wrote the lyrics that eventually became the words of the Welsh national anthem.

A memorial to James James and his father, in the shape of two figures representing the muses of Poetry and Music, stands in Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd. James James died in Aberdare in the Cynon Valley 11 January 1902,[3] he is buried in the local cemetery at Aberdare in the same grave as his wife Cecilia and daughter Louisa.

For more of my original music, great arrangements and all the national anthems of the world, check out my on-line stores:http://www.scoreexchange.com/profiles/keith_terrethttp://musicforalloccasions.org.ukhttp://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=keith+terrettNeed an anthem fast? Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.891206 Arranged by Dandelion Music Press. Contemporary,Folk,World. Octavo. 15 pages. Dandelion Music Press #3104497. Published by Dandelion Music Press (A0.891206). This tender lullaby is a touching memorial for an end of life commemoration of a parent or caregiver. Here is a great opportunity to collaborate with a children's or youth choir and Irish instrumentalists, or to freely substitute any treble solo and Western instrumental equivalent.Included in Project:Encore 2017, Quarter 1 Lost Songs of Ancient Ireland, for Mixed Choir with Treble Descant, Piano or Harp, Bodhran, Irish Flute, and Violin, is a three-movement song cycle that focuses on the shifting relationships over the scope of a lifetime from the differing perspective of each person involved.I. Old Beggarman- Two interwoven jigs, It Was an Old Beggarman, Weary and Wet and Ag an mBóithrÃn Buà (At the Yellow Little Road), of both a young lady's observation of a wandering beggarman and his unrequited, possibly unexpressed, love for her. They are offered together as alternate perspectives from potential romantic partners, and features lilting, mouth music, or portaireacht bhéil (port a'bhéil, mouth-singing) as it is known in Irish Gaelic.II. I Would Rock My Child to Sleep- A sentimental Irish lullaby Irish lullaby Do Chuirfinnse Féin Mo Leanbh a Chodladh (I Would Put My Own Child to Sleep) highlights the shifting roles of a caregiver: the parent full of hopes of the parent for the child morphing over a lifetime into a blessing from the grown child to the aged parent. Each verse is progressively based upon an overall narrative: 1. hopes of the parent for the child 2. an easy, natural rhythm to family life, possibly the child is older now, and there is a dream of family continuance 3. uncertainty over who is nurturing who: does the child now sing to comfort the parent? 4. a closing blessing for peace and rest that hearkens back to the successful sleep of a tired infantIII. The Drummer- An energetic reel, a combination of Maidin Fhómhair, nó CailÃn Péacach (The Harvest Maiden, or Sprouting Maiden) and Cormac Spáinneach, nó An Drumadóir (Cormac Spaineach, or The Drummer), alternating between romantic partners encased by a nostalgic love song, suggesting the passing of a lifetime.Commissioned by Cora Voce; Tacoma, WAMovements available for purchase separately.2017 Choral Contest EntryLaurie Betts Hughes, ASCAP | www.LaurieBettsHughes.com

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1089944 By Raluca Bojor. By Clara H. Scott. Arranged by Raluca Bojor. Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual,Traditional. Score. 4 pages. Raluca Bojor #694168. Published by Raluca Bojor (A0.1089944). This is the prefect piano hymn arrangement to play on Pentecost Sunday (or any other Sunday, for that matter). In this text, the author invites the Holy Spirit to transform her life by opening her eyes, her mouth, her ears. Each stanza ends with “illumine me, Spirit divine!†May that be our motto every day of our lives! The piano arrangement is structured in three sections (one style for each verse). In the first section the hands stay close to the middle register and the voicing is modest. And the oom-pah-pah rhythms will give it a light bounce that will bring a smile to whoever plays or listens. On the second verse the hands move to a higher register where the music suddenly becomes more delicate. Think of a music box! Lastly, on the third verse we pull all the stops! Large leaps in the left hand between the bass note and the chords plus full chords and octaves in the right hand. Download the PDF sheet music now:.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1254516 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Mary Ann W. Snowball. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 13 pages. Kevin G. Pace #848111. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1254516). An epically beautiful, sacred choral arrangement with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann W. Snowball. Text is in reference to Mark 9:24 in the New Testament: And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.Text: As the Savior neared, a man cried out so loud,“Have compassion on us, Lord; my son is on the ground.â€Foaming at the mouth, and being sorely vexed,Jesus said, “If thou believe, all things can come to rest.â€â€œLord, I do believe; help thou mine unbelief.â€Jesus charged the spirit there, thus offering relief.Jesus took his hand, then helped the lad arise. From that day the boy was cured, his father by his side.Though one’s faith be small, just even as a seed,Jesus offers sustenance to fill each wanting need.If thou canst believe, all things can yet be known.Miracles are possible when faith in God is shown.Chorus:Faith as a mustard seed, faith for ev’ry plea,Unveils God’s true miracles if thou canst believe.

Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1085456 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Traditional. Score and parts. 23 pages. Derek Hasted #689606. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1085456). PORTSMOUTH - 4 GUITARS or LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes Although this piece was made famous by Mike Oldfield, it first appeared in John Playford’s “The Dancing Master†in 1701, and also found fame in the hands of Ralph Vaughan Williams. My arrangement starts with a slow, teasing, introduction, and introduces the famous melody very slowly and gently. “What Shall We Do With The Drunken Sailor†also makes a few appearances before we let the brakes off and burst into the tune that many people know. The music isn’t hard to play, and each line has some music interest, though only Guitar 1 has to venture up the neck. It’s ideal for a mixed ability ensemble, and runs at nearly five minutes, to make a substantial concert item that builds up and up. This arrangement was a firm favourite with the Hampshire Guitar Orchestra (HAGO) and their audiences. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as HAGO did!

Piano Accompaniment, Dan CutchenTime: approximately 6:00And Can It Be That I Should Gain? is a Christian hymn written by Charles Wesley. And Can It Be was written in 1738 to celebrate Wesley's conversion, which he regarded as having taken place on May 21 of that year. This beautiful hymn has been popular and enduring. And Can It Be That I Should Gain is perhaps one of the most joyfully poignant hymns penned by Charles Wesley (1707-1788). On Whitsunday (Pentecost), May 21, 1738, three days before his brother John experienced his heart strangely warmed,’ Charles was convalescing in the home of John Bray, a poor mechanic, when he heard a voice saying, In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, arise, and believe, and thou shalt be healed of all thy infirmities. The voice was most likely Mr. Bray’s sister who felt commanded to say these words in a dream.Anglican hymn writer Timothy Dudley-Smith, notes that the following then happened:Charles got out of bed and opening his Bible read from the Psalms: He have put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God, followed by the first verse of Isaiah 40, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. He wrote in his journal, I have found myself at peace with God, and rejoiced in the hope of love Christ (Dudley-Smith, 1987, 1).The statement from Mr. Bray’s sister sparked within Charles a conviction like he had never felt before. Moved and convicted in spirit, Charles wrestled with these words until he came to rest in his faith, knowing that it is by faith we are saved (Ephesians 2:8).Soon after this conversion experience, he wrote two hymns in celebration of the amazing love he had come to know: And Can It Be that I Should Gain and Where Shall My Wondering Soul Begin? (United Methodist Hymnal, 342)There has been some debate as to which hymn was written first, but most current scholarship accepts the latter as the first hymn written by Charles after his conversion experience. No matter its place in the chronology of Wesley's output, And Can It Be has been and remains one of his most remarkable hymns, expressing like no other the rapturous joy of receiving salvation. And Can It Be That I Should Gain.
