Piano Solo - Level 1 - SKU: A0.866232 Composed by Jeffrey Ouper. Arranged by Jeffrey Ouper. Christmas,Halloween,Hanukkah,Holiday,Patriotic. Score. 11 pages. Jeffrey Ouper #5968693. Published by Jeffrey Ouper (A0.866232). Celebrate Holidays Piano Solos features all 10 holiday favorites for an established beginner who wants to play solos (and not duets!). Each piece has simple harmonies, without changing or dumbing-down a melody all that much. These are great for a picky student who wants to play themes they know, or want a motivational purpose to play music (in this case to celebrate a holiday). Each piece includes the holiday it is celebrating. This is both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 together: Auld Lang Syne (New Year's Eve), Amazing Grace (Black History Month), Stars & Stripes Forever (July 4th), Over the River & Through the Woods (Thanksgiving), The First Noel (Christmas), Rakes of Mallow (St. Patrick's Day), Gong Xi Gong Xi (Chinese New Year), I Have a Little Dreidel (Hanukkah), Happy Birthday Cha-Cha-Cha, In the Hall of the Mountain King (Halloween)

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 1 - SKU: A0.973171 Composed by Richard deCosta. Christian,Christmas,Gospel,Jazz. Score. 3 pages. Richard deCosta #4805429. Published by Richard deCosta (A0.973171). Light jazz vocal arrangement in the style of Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby or Nat King Cole of a new original Christmas tune by deCosta & Lane.A day like any other day,A dismal one, I want to say.A day when joy seems to have flown away.Is misery to be my dole? But what now do I hear within my soul? They sing to me in lovely tones,I feel it in my flesh and bones,No longer will we be alone.Gone the void so dark and vast.Emmanuel is come at last.CHORUSI hear the chimes so many times,They ring out loud, so clear in my ears. But they don’t sound In just my ears,But deep in the hearts of all gathered here. And as the chimes so sweetly ring,Let us all rejoice and sing,And hearken to the hope they bring. We wonder what that may allow,If our savior’s with us now. We’ll know Him, somedayWe’ll know Him somehow.[CHORUS]

Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 1 - SKU: A0.719770 Composed by Various. Arranged by Curtis Hanson. Sacred. 10 pages. Curtis Hanson #6069399. Published by Curtis Hanson (A0.719770). As years come and go, one increasingly recalls memories of earlier times. One of the most vivid and cherished memories I have while growing up is of Sunday mornings, going to church, sitting in the same pew each week with my grandmother, hearing and singing the beautiful hymns of our faith, and then returning home to the aroma of beef slowly roasting in the oven. My father directed the church choir, my mother and older brothers sang in the choir, so the wonderful music of our faith was instilled in me from an early age. This medley, and others in the series, are arrangements of many of my favorite hymns from those early years, many of which have been lost in more recent editions. For this series, I have mostly elected to use the older texts as that is the way they were first written and the way I first learned them. (*See below for more comment on the texts in this set.) There is a reverence and beauty in the language enriching the vocal tone which, I believe, is lost in contemporary, conversational, or politically correct syntax. I shudder to think of the day when a penitential phrase such as Hear thou my prayer, O Lord is rendered as Hey, God-dude, listen up - I'm talkin' atcha! I have also opted not to include the many wonderful hymns and carols which are associated with the major festivals of Christmas and Easter as those are commonly found in other collections. A caveat: I have no delusions, and I offer no pretenses, that these settings are great art. They are simply expressions of faith which I hope may bring a small measure of joy to other church musicians. The general concept of each medley is to present the hymn, often in its original chorale form, and then vary its harmony or texture. The hymns in this set are Children of the Heavenly Father, Day by Day, Thy Holy Wings, and Beautiful Savior. This collection of arrangements is also available for SATB voices and piano or piano solo.*A note on the texts in this set: Having grown up in a Swedish Lutheran church, the grandson of Swedish/Norwegian immigrants, and currently being choir director of another Swedish Lutheran church, these hymns have a special place for me. This medley of hymns was originally arranged for my church choir with the first verse of each in Swedish. Being under copyright, permission was obtained to use the more familiar English translations of the first three songs for local use. For this edition, I have opted to create my own texts for the first and third hymns while the second hymn is a translation in public domain. I have also provided a verse in English in lieu of the Swedish for those Nordically challenged. The fourth hymn is not a Swedish melody but for obvious reasons is a mainstay of the Lutheran hymnal. Like the other hymns, the first verse is in Swedish while the other traditional verses are also public domain.

This is a cute and lively song perfect for children to perform for their grandpa on father's day! But that's not all. The lyrics can be easily swapped out for a song about Momma, Daddy, or Grandma on their birthdays, on Mother's or Father's day. Performing this song would be a wonderful, thoughtful gift for any occasion.

Laurie Carter-Elliott Lucky Life Publishing #874669. Published by Laurie Carter-Elliott Lucky Life Publishing (A0.1283486). A great song by Panic At The Disco! This is a 2 Part arrangement for middle school choirs just learning how to sing in parts. It's easy to learn and fun to put together. Each part gets a chance to sing the melody as well as learn a harmony part. A totally reachable range by baritones singing an octave lower in either Part I or Part II There is even an optional solo or small group section at the beginning. It's also an appropriate song to use if you are designing a weather or outside-element themed concert!

About the PieceT'was the day after Christmas and magic was in the air.The toys had been played with and were thrown about without care.  but with a bell's magic jingle, they suddenly came alive, and moved to gather three, four, then five.  They began to march in an enchanted paradeKeeping good time like a well-trained brigade. They continued their hike around the tree with prideso festive and happy just to be free and alive. But the magic was waining with the jingle of bellsand the toys disbanded and said their farewells,Their magic had run out, at least for this yearIt would be 365 days before the March of the Enchanted Toys would again reappear. March of the Enchanted Toys is a work for beginning-level percussionists.  A simple melody and rhythmic patterns make it easier to teach and learn.  In addition, the score and parts are all written with alpha notes, making it easier for young students to read the notes that are not usually in their range.     Instrumentation:  For 6-12 Percussionists 4 Bells Sets (written for beginning percussion kits),  Xylophone,  Triangle,  Ratchet,  Vibraslap,  Wood Block,  Bass Drum,  Sleighbells,  Temple Blocks (5)If you wish to play this with reduced instrumentation, Use the instruments in this order: 4 Bells  Xylophone  Sleighbells  Ratchet/Vibraslap (played by 1 player) Temple Blocks Triangle Wood Blocks.

Bassoon - Level 1 - SKU: A0.1474103 Composed by James Smith. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Educational Method. 44 pages. Ensemble Llama Music #1051737. Published by Ensemble Llama Music (A0.1474103). I’m a bassoonist, and I don’t like the teaching materials for bassoon that are out there. There’s not enough depth and engagement in them, and nothing that supports the everyday music teacher. So I set out to create something that I would feel comfortable giving to my private students to help them grow as musicians. There are many types of music in the book: etudes, exercises, warm-ups, backwards and upside down duets (one person plays normally, the other person reads the music in an unusual way), improvised music, and composition. Musical styles range across a variety of cultures and genres such as classical, blues, fiddle tunes, marches, contemporary, musicals, and more. Using carefully crafted etudes, exercises, and songs in a variety of styles, your bassoon students are going to to find immediate success. The bite-sized examples encourage students to focus on tone, as they extend their technique and range on this wonderful instrument. Examples from the book:1.1 - Memories1.2 - Can-Can1.3 - Baby-Back Blues1.4 - Somewhere Nice1.5 - Go Down, Moses1.6 - Magenta Sky (A Backwards Duet)1.7 - Cakewalk1.8 - Red River Valley1.9 - Symphony No. 6, Mvt. 2 (Tchaikovsky)1.10 - Arkansas Traveler1.11 - Give My Regards to Broadway (key of B Flat Major)1.12 - In The Hall of the Mountain King1.13 - Landlord Fill The Flowing Bowl1.14 - It Ain't Gonna Rain No Mo'1.15 - Shalom Chaverim1.16 - Londonderry Air1.17 - Theme & Variations, Für Elise1.18 - Ominous (A Backwards Duet)Create & Improvise: St. Louis Blues (W.C. B-Flat Trumpet,Piano - Level 1 - SKU: A0.548515 Composed by Wade. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christian,Christmas. Score and part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3388127. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548515). O Come All Ye Faithful arranged with new harmony for the final verse. Score: 3 pages, part: 1 page. Trumpet in Bb O Come, All Ye Faithful O Come, All Ye Faithful is an English translation of the Latin Christmas carol Adeste Fideles. No one knows exactly who wrote it. One theory holds that King John IV of Portugal (1604–1656) wrote it. Another theory says John F. Wade or John Reading wrote it. Nowadays, we usually attribute it to John Wade. Seems like Stonyhurst College in Lancashire owns the oldest manuscript. It is from the year 1751. Lyrics Frederick Oakeley, a Catholic priest in 1841 wrote the English translation. This translation is probably the most common in the English-speaking states. To begin with, the hymn had only four verses. Later, the verses grew to eight. Music directors often cut various verses because otherwise, the song goes too long. Some believe that St. Bonaventure wrote the first Latin lyrics. Others hold that King John IV of Portugal is responsible. Yet even others think the Cistercian monks wrote them. King John IV His subjects called King John IV of Portugal The Musician King. He became king in 1640. In addition to performing the duties of a king, he composed and wrote as a music journalist. King John built a very large music library. Unfortunately, the massive earthquake of Lisbon ruined the library in 1755. In addition to building his library, the king started a Music School that produced many accomplished musicians. The king also worked diligently to get instrumental music approved by the Vatican for use in his churches. Aside from his authorship of Adeste Fideles, he is famous for another popular choral setting of the Crux Fidelis, a prevalent Lenten hymn. Performance in Context Verses are sometimes left out because all eight verses would take too long to perform. More to the point though, some of the verses may be unsuitable for whatever of the church calendar they are intended. The eighth verse deals with the Epiphany, so it makes sense to sing this on Epiphany Sunday, but not other Sundays. Similarly, other verses are used according to whether the event is Midnight Mass or regular daytime Mass. Register for free lifetime updates and revisions at www.jamesguthrie.com

Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 1 - SKU: A0.719768 Composed by Various. Arranged by Curtis Hanson. Sacred. 9 pages. Curtis Hanson #6069393. Published by Curtis Hanson (A0.719768). For this series, I have elected to use the older texts as that is the way they were first written and the way I first learned them. There is a reverence and beauty in the language enriching the vocal tone which, I believe, is lost in contemporary, conversational, or politically correct syntax. The hymns in this set include Breathe on Me, Breath of God, Blest Be the Tie That Binds, and More Love to Thee, O Christ. This collection of arrangements is also available for SATB voices and piano or piano solo.

Piano Trio - Level 1 - SKU: A0.548647 Composed by Wade. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas. 7 pages. Jmsgu3 #3407487. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548647). O Come, All Ye Faithful O Come, All Ye Faithful arranged for piano trio ( piano, violin & cello) featuring a thought-provoking re-harmonization of the final verse. O Come, All Ye Faithful is an English translation of the Latin Christmas carol Adeste Fideles. No one knows exactly who wrote it. One theory holds that King John IV of Portugal (1604–1656) wrote it. Another view says John F. Wade or John Reading wrote it. Nowadays, we usually attribute it to John Wade. It seems like Stonyhurst College in Lancashire owns the oldest manuscript. It is from the year 1751. Lyrics Frederick Oakeley, a Catholic priest in 1841, wrote the English translation. This translation is probably the most common in English-speaking states. King John built an extensive music library. Unfortunately, the massive earthquake in Lisbon ruined the library in 1755. In addition to making his library, the king started a Music School that produced many accomplished musicians. More to the point, though, some of the poems may be unsuitable for whatever church calendar they are intended. The eighth verse deals with the Epiphany, so it makes sense to sing this on Epiphany Sunday but not on other Sundays. Similarly, other poems are used for whether the event is Midnight Mass or regular daytime Mass. Â

Published by Paul A. Jorg (A0.522333). This song is public domain, written in the 1850's, during a time - pre-civil war - when the nation was being torn apart. The writer calms his anxiety by holding on to God's promises. Here are some lyric notes: I am a poor, wayfaring stranger - Wayfaring: traveling especially on foot; peripatetic country preachers; a poor wayfaring stranger. Wandering through this world of woe - Matthew 18:7: Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! And there's no sickness, toil or danger - John 11:4: When he heard this, Jesus said, This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it. Ecclesiastes 2:18-19: I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me. Acts 14:22: strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God, In that bright land to which I go - James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.I'm going home to see my Father - John 6:40 - For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. I'm only going over Jordan - Joshua 22:4: Now that the LORD your God has given your brothers rest as he promised, return to your homes in the land that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side of the Jordan. Yet though dark clouds will gather round me - 2 Corinthians 12:10: That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. I know my way is rough and steep - Psalm 16:11: You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Proverbs 15:24: The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him from going down to the grave. But beauteous fields lie just before me - Numbers 13:25: We arrived in the land you sent us to see, and it is indeed a magnificient country, a land flowing with milk and honey. Where God's redeemed their vigil's keep - Exodus12:42: Because the LORD kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt, on this night all the Israelites are to keep vigil to honor the LORD for the generations to come. I'm going home to see my mother - Mark 10:29-31: I tell you the truth, Jesus replied, no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields-and with them, persecutions.
