Learn from the master. Johann Sebastian Bach composed countless pieces specifically for his many students. My First Bach contains many of these educational pieces which are, for the most part, arranged in increasing difficulty. Easy two-part chorales and dances are followed by more demanding little preludes, two-part inventions and the first Prelude from the Well-Tempered Clavier.

An easy arrangement of Bach\'s \'Aria\' from the Goldberg Variations. The voices have been reduced whilst still retaining the melody, and ornaments written out in full to simplify. About the arranger: I have been playing and teaching piano for over 20 years, and hold a degree in music from Oxford University. This arrangement of Menuet I & II from Cello Suite I, by Johann Sebastian Bach, for solo guitar, incorporates slurs (hammer-ons, pull-offs) to simulate aspects of the cello. The sheet includes both the original Prelude n.5 BWV 855a in E minor from Bach and the arrangement of this piece by Siloti, Prelude in B minor, as interpreted by Emil Gilels.

Alexander Siloti dedicated this piece to his daughter Kyrienna Siloti. According to her, Alexander Siloti used to play the same melody twice. The first pass emphasized the 16th notes while the second pass gave more focus to the middle voice.

This piece has been interpreted differently by many pianists over the years and in the score of the Prelude in B minor I try to capture precisely Emil Gilels\' own rendition of the piece as he introduced subtle differences in the voicing compared to Siloti\'s original score.

J.S. Bach - Praeludium II
The original piece was composed by Franz Liszt in 1722. It is part of The Well-Tempered Clavier, a collection of two books of preludes and fugues in all 24 major and minor keys.
