Key: A minor.The publication of a collection of 12 concertos for one to four solo violins by Antonio Vivaldi in Amsterdam in 1711 laid the foundations for the fame of the Italian composer in the whole of Europe. This opus 3, 'L'Estro Armonico', brought the musical world the first of more than 500 solo concertos altogether. Apart from 'The Four Seasons', these works are among the most popular works by Vivaldi even today. Concerto No. 6 in A minor for one solo violin can be regarded as one of the best liked for it is suitable for both beginner's and advanced lessons because of its technical demands. Published by Jasper Swank (A0.1375374). “This series of 10 short pieces was made as a stub for filling the absence of multi-part kazoo pieces. According to the composer, the classical world has been acting deprecatory towards new instruments. First, the clarinet, then the saxophone, and still many more are not accepted by conservative listeners. It’s time that people start to discover the beauty of new timbres, giving traditional settings and forms new entertaining context. Swunk believes himself the chosen advocate to bring instruments like the otamatone, the stroh violin, jazz harpsichord, the turkey, and, yes, the kazoo to the classical audience.â€These words were stated under the pseudonym Funky Swunk at the online premiere of a selection of these pieces as performed by members of the Untitled Virtual Ensemble. After this premiere, an extra piece was added (â…¨. Bonus Track), making the suite a nice uneven 11 short pieces.The goal of this collection of pieces is in part to show that the kazoo can in fact be used for a new sound in a classical setting. A well-written piece will still sound as such, regardless of the instruments used. However, the main aspect of performing either a selection of these pieces (in any order) or the suite as a whole should be the fun in performing. Of course, this shouldn’t be at the cost of the musical quality, but I do wholeheartedly hope these pieces bring as much joy to the musicians and any audience as it brought me while composing them.Included in package • Full Score with introduction.

Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 Prelude, arranged for solo classical guitar. This arrangement involved careful editing of essential elements of the Cello Suite Prelude (not the entire piece), tuning the guitar's 5th and 6th strings down a whole step, and adjusting harmonies of the Cello Suite to match Happy Birthday, still retaining Bach's compositional style.  It's an intermediate level classical fingerstyle, similar in difficulty to the Sor Etudes. You can see & hear the full arrangement performed in the YouTube link provided. LYRICS are included in both English and German.ABOUT: Brad Powell (aka The Candlelight Guitarist) began guitar at age ten, inspired by The Beatles. At 15, he became a protégé of jazz guitarist Joe Pass, and later studied classical guitar under Vincent Macaluso, and at California State University, Northridge under Ronald Purcell, with a master class under Andrés Segovia. Brad was featured performing Gerald Wilson's Sonata for Guitar and Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl, with the composer conducting. Brad was mentored in composition by David Rose (composer for Little House on the Prairie). Brad has composed music for TV, including Hill Street Blues and The 'A' Team, working with Mike Post. Ascher and Paul Williams.Most people hear the intro of this piece and immediately think of Kermit the Frog, strumming his banjo and singing this beautiful little melody. It is one of the very first sheets of music that I went out and purchased at our local music store. I was so excited to learn it! Fast forward many years later (ahem!) and I am so happy to see it entertaining a whole new generation of people. On YouTube, Kermit uploaded a special performance of it in April 2020!I performed it as a duet with a student at a recital and it was a big hit (we even came up with our own choreography to go along with the piece!) This melody is one of those timeless and iconic pieces that will forever live in my heart. I was excited to see that I would be able to share an arrangement I made!My version starts out in the key of A major and offers a simple, more pianistic left hand accompaniment. Smooth, flowing arpeggios accompany most of the piece. The first verse is left to be fairly simple and lets the melody shine. The second verse has more harmony in the right hand and some fills that build on the melody. The key change has more movement and signals the last verse done in a very full, orchestra-like sound. These eight Chorale Preludes were all written between March and May of 2020, during the worldwide Coronavirus Pandemic. Unlike the earlier companion volumes of shorter English and German preludes, which feature a variety of moods and themes, these American examples all seem to center around the closely related ideas of hope and quiet confidence. While this was not my intention back when I was choosing hymns to work with, I am pleased with the unity of the set. Taken as a whole, they are filled with tidings of comfort and joy. Stylistically, the preludes range from the baroque bounce of Praise Him, Jesus Our Blessed Redeemer, through the sturdy On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand (with its chords sounding as if they had been carved from granite blocks) and a surprisingly delicate I Stand Amazed. There is a fair amount of canonic leading and following in He Leadeth Me; Great is Thy Faithfulness is the expressive heart of the set; and we end by returning to 18th century ritornello models with Blessed Assurance. Through it all I think I have managed to avoid any sense of academic stuffiness - in fact there are several moments which may sound almost playful if not handled rightly.As with the Shorter English and German Preludes, most of these are between one and two minutes in length, and each fits on one or two pages, arranged so as to avoid page turns. As always, durations and sources are provided for your planning.
