Rhythm Section SATB Chorus divisi,Voice - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1488634 By Kurt Elling. By Bill Bodine, Bill Odine, Charlie Hunter, Cheryl Bentyne, Corey Jonathan Fonville, Dj Harrison, Janis Siegel, and Kurt Elling. Arranged by Kerry Marsh. Funk,Jazz,Pop. Vocal Jazz Ensemble. 49 pages. Kerry Marsh #1065481. Published by Kerry Marsh (A0.1488634). This arrangement, sold at SheetMusicPlus.com and SheetMusicDirect.com at a lower price than the standard flat-fee range for vocal jazz ensemble arrangements ($75), does NOT come with a demo recording or any rehearsal audio aids. Visit KerryMarsh.com and purchase the “All Tracks Pack (With SkyTracks Mixer)“ package and receive access to: 1. Arrangement Demo, 2. SkyTracks Mixer access, 3. Vocal Part Tracks, 4. Minus-One Tracks, 5. Rhythm Track, 6. Recording Stems (for those who wish to use their own Digital Audio Workstation). This arrangement of Sassy, inspired by Kurt Elling's version from the *Superblue* album, brings a modern twist to the classic originally performed by The Manhattan Transfer. Featuring the vocal ensemble prominently throughout, this chart captures the energy and spirit of Elling's interpretation while providing a fresh take on the song, which is a tribute to jazz legend Sarah Vaughan. The ensemble handles nearly all the lyric content, weaving through the intricate and plentiful lines with style and precision. There are also moments where the group seamlessly integrates aspects of the instrumental arrangement, ensuring the performance is engaging and cohesive. One standout section features the choir grooving with just the drums, highlighting the dynamic interplay between voices and rhythm. The arrangement includes some exciting, fast-moving harmonies, especially on the Workin' in the daytime... section, which showcases the group's agility and tight coordination. Toward the end, a baritone soloist steps into the spotlight, embodying the role of Kurt Elling with both notated lyric riffs and opportunities for vocal improvisation, adding an extra layer of excitement and individuality to the performance.Dig!

Guitar and string quartet - Advanced - SKU: ZY.DO-1526 Composed by Stephen Goss. Score and parts. 120 pages. Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) #DO 1526. Published by Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) (ZY.DO-1526). Wynwood Walls draws on 9 artworks which lend their titles to the 9 connected sections of the quintet. The music reflects and amplifies my own subjective responses to the artworks. The movements are organised in pairs, circling out from a still centre – No Woman, No Cry. The title for this centrepiece comes from Chris Ofili’s moving portrait of Doreen Lawrence, the mother of a teenager murdered in an unprovoked racist attack. As well as this specific reference, the artist intended the painting to be read as a universal portrayal of melancholy, solace, and grief. The two segments flanking No Woman, No Cry complete the central triptych. Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks explores loneliness and isolation, while Grayson Perry’s #Lamentation is a meditation on remembrance and the transience of life. In contrast to the rest of Wynwood Walls, the music here is dark and introspective.I want my time with you is a giant neon sign designed by Tracey Emin for St. Pancras Station, London. Selfie with Sunflowers is an essay written by Julian Barnes about our over-familiarisation with Van Gogh’s iconic sunflower paintings. The music is sentimental, bordering on schmaltz and kitsch. Sunflower Seeds and Infinity Room are a pair of moto perpetuo scherzos inspired by the minimalist installations of Ai Weiwei and Yayoi Kusama respectively. The opening section, Bathers at Asnières, suggests Seurat’s iconic painting, while the finale, Seurat’s Bathers, evokes Howard Hodgkin’s reworking of the Seurat using a blaze of vivid colours. The title of the quintet is borrowed from the Wynwood art district of Miami – an area characterised by the hundreds of colourful street murals which decorate the walls of old warehouses in the neighbourhood. In performance, the artworks can be projected onto a screen behind the ensemble.

Published by Jason Popalisky (A0.1430866). Since its 1918 London premiere, Holst's suite The Planets has thrilled audiences worldwide, and no doubt would thrill the audience for any ambitious Symphonic Band today. I have attempted to capture the joy and exuberance of the Jupiter movement, while carefully reworking it for the symphonic band medium. Emphasis has been made on practical playability (without watering down the parts), particularly with repeated figures. The ensemble for this arrangement is quite large, in keeping with the original orchestration.Instrumentation:2 Piccolos2 Flutes*3 OboesEnglish HornEb Clarinet3 Bb Clarinets*Alto Clarinet2 Bass ClarinetsContrabass Clarinet3 BassoonsContrabassoon2 Alto SaxophonesTenor SaxophoneBaritone Saxophone3 Trumpets in Bb*4 Horns in F3 TrombonesBass TromboneEuphoniumTubaDouble BassHarp2 TimpaniBass DrumCymbals (Crash and Suspended)TambourineTriangleGlockenspielXylophone*these instruments have divisi on each part requiring 2 players per part. While no instrument is optional, the following are either doubled and/or cued at key moments: Oboe 3, Alto Clarinet, Contrabass Clarinet, Bassoon 3, Double Bass, and Harp

Choral Choir,Choral,SATB Chorus divisi - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1402556 Composed by Thomas Tallis. Arranged by John Ross. 21st Century,A Cappella,Religious,Renaissance,Sacred. 45 pages. John Ross #985777. Published by John Ross (A0.1402556). “Loquebantur, -bantur, -bantur†is based on 'Loquebantur variis linguis' by Thomas Tallis. The words are from the responsory for 1st Vespers at Pentecost and tell of the Apostles beginning to speak in many tongues, proclaiming the great works of God. In this reworking, vocal parts gradually move away from the Tallis original, taking musical ideas from the soprano saxophone part and “speaking in tonguesâ€. The opening interplay between sax and solo tenor uses notes from the Intonation, creating the “-bantur, -bantur†figure which gives this arrangement its title. As the piece proceeds individual vocal lines gradually speak in the tongues suggested by the sax. By the end, the joyful combination of many musical ideas is crowned by the ecstatic saxophone part. The “tongues†ideas are shown in the score by added phrasing and by using lyrics in italics. These fragments should be sung a little more prominently, allowing them to pop out above the overall texture. An additional tenor line has been added, making the piece’s scoring SSAATTBB plus saxophone.

Choral Choir,Choral (SSAA) - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1397081 Composed by Stephen Smith. 21st Century,A Cappella,Classical. 9 pages. Stephen Smith #980409. Published by Stephen Smith (A0.1397081). This richly-expressive setting, for soprano solo and a cappella SSAA choir, of a much-loved poem written in 1928 by a young Elizabeth Bishop, is a reworking of my earlier setting of this poem for TTBB chorus and string quartet (also available on this site, under the title Sonnet). The treble version was created for Vancouver's award-winning women's choir, Elektra, to perform with the eminent Canadian soprano Suzie LeBlanc when she was Elektra's featured guest artist at concerts in May of 2019. The accompanying audio file, which is used with permission, is a live recording of the work's première, under the direction of Morna Edmundson. Duration: ca. 5 minutes.

Mezzo-Soprano Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1186002 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. Classical,Opera. 10 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #785660. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.1186002). The first of its kind, this is a much more readable and sight-playable piano/vocal reduction of Ah, scostati!...Smanie implacabili,†Dorabella’s first aria from Mozart’s Così fan tutte (1790). The sextuplets in the right hand found in most standard reductions have been condensed into triplets with a grace note, emphasizing that the gestural shape is what needs to be heard rather than every individual note, and the result is a much clearer and less note-filled score for the audition pianist. Some large spans in the left hand have also been reduced out and redistributed for more ergonomic playing on long audition days. When a grace note has an accidental that is then repeated later in the gesture, I’ve rewritten that accidental on the full-size note containing it for ease of reading (so the cue-size accidental is not the only indication of said accidental in the measure, which would make it too easy to miss). The recitative “Ah, scostati!†is also included with slight alterations and courtesy accidentals in the melodic minor scales. As with any Accessible Accompaniments edition that’s not also an audition/solo cut, I suggest bringing two copies to each audition: one Accessible Accompaniment and one copy of a standard edition. Audition pianists who don’t know the aria will almost always choose the cleaner look of the Accessible Accompaniment, but those who know “Smanie†well might prefer to play from the edition they learned it from. This will provide singers and their audition pianists every chance of a successful collaboration. All Accessible Accompaniments, including this one, boast several unique features:1. No reduction ever requires stretches of over an octave, not including bass notes meant to be held or “fudged†with the pedal (though octaves may also contain chord tones within them). This reduces the amount of rearranging that smaller-handed pianists must already do. Obviously, further reworkings are to be expected and pianists should feel free to add to or modify what I’ve provided.2. I’ve included less essential, but potentially desirable additional voices/passages in cue-size noteheads so that pianists can easily see them, but know that they are not necessary in a “sink or swim†accompanying situation. Presenting less essential material in cue-size noteheads also reduces visual clutter on the page.3. In addition to the composer’s markings, when needed, I have included additional courtesy accidentals.4. All page turns have been carefully selected so as to result in the least possible disruption to the pianist when possible. 5. When known, I’ve noted alternate cuts that singers might like to take within certain arias.6. I’ve also replaced text “cresc.†and “dim.†markings with hairpins, which are easier to see in high-pressure sight-reading situations.About the Arranger:Praised as a sensitive pianist and outstanding accompanist who delivers powerful interpretations, Nicole Elyse DiPaolo enjoys a multifaceted career as a sought-after collaborative pianist, educational composer, arranger, coach, private teacher, and adjunct music professor. Currently based in the Cleveland area, Ms. DiPaolo has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Ambassador Chamber Players on multiple occasions and as a recitalist, collaborator, and presenter worldwide. Soprano voice,Vocal Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.799613 Composed by Richard Strauss. Arranged by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. 20th Century,Romantic Period. 17 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #5022029. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.799613). The first of its kind, and the sixth entry in Nicole Elyse DiPaolo's Accessible Accompaniments series of aria reductions, this is a genuinely playable and piano/vocal reduction of Grossmächtige Prinzessin, Zerbinetta's famous aria from Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos (second version, 1916). Coloratura sopranos who love this aria no longer need to fear bringing it in for auditions, last-minute performing engagements, or other situations in which the pianist may have to sight-read from the chaotic and sometimes unplayable vocal score. Pianists may now enjoy playing this aria comfortably, without risking strain/injury.This aria is also available to purchase in smaller sections, as commonly offered in auditions, at reduced prices. They include a score beginning at Noch glaub' ich and one beginning at So war es mit Pagliazzo. To see previews of those sections within the aria, please visit their respective SheetMusicPlus pages. The edition you are viewing here is the complete aria, covering rehearsal nos. 100-130.All Accessible Accompaniments, including this one, boast several unique features:1. No reduction ever requires stretches of over an octave, not including bass notes meant to be held or fudged with the pedal (though octaves may also contain chord tones within them). This reduces the amount of rearranging that smaller-handed pianists must already do. Presenting less essential material in cue-size noteheads also reduces visual clutter on the page.3. In addition to the composer’s markings, when needed, I have included hints on particular notes to bring out when the singer is likely to need them as a pitch anchor or when it is not obvious which line should be brought out within the texture.4. All page turns have been carefully selected so as to result in the least possible disruption to the pianist when possible. When an inevitable page turn precedes a potentially surprising note or chord, I’ve included the next downbeat’s notes in cue-size stemless noteheads at the end of the preceding measure.5. When known, I’ve noted alternate cuts that singers might like to take within certain arias.6. In some cases I’ve modernized spelling conventions for easier readability (for example, by replacing ß with ss in German arias) and occasionally I've enharmonically respelled brief passages for greater clarity.About the Arranger: Praised as a sensitive pianist and outstanding accompanist who delivers powerful interpretations, Nicole Elyse DiPaolo enjoys a multifaceted career as a sought-after collaborative pianist, educational composer, arranger, coach, private teacher, and adjunct music professor. Baritone Horn TC,Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1176334 Composed by Gioachino Rossini. Arranged by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. 19th Century,Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. 13 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #776458. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.1176334). The first of its kind, this is a genuinely playable piano/vocal reduction of Largo al factotum,†the show-stopping first aria from Gioachino Rossini’s famous opera Il barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville). Most reductions of this aria pose a physical hazard to audition and other collaborative pianists who risk injury by trying to grab every fast repeated note and chord in this extremely long aria, nor do the repeated notes tend to come out properly or sound right on pianos compared to the string instruments for which they were written. With this reduction—which was specifically created to be more ergonomic at the piano and safer to get through on long audition-playing days—pianists may now enjoy playing this aria comfortably, without risking strain/injury. However, it’ll still be a tour de force for the baritone!Note that this score does not make any cuts to the aria; therefore, it is also suitable for recital settings without time limits. Presenting less essential material in cue-size noteheads also reduces visual clutter on the page. 3. 5. When known, I’ve noted alternate cuts that singers might like to take within certain arias. 6. In some cases I’ve modernized spelling conventions for easier readability (for example, by replacing “߆with “ss†in German arias) and occasionally I've enharmonically respelled brief passages for greater clarity. I’ve also replaced some text “cresc.†and “dim.†markings with hairpins, which are easier to see in high-pressure sight-reading situations. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.799612). The first of its kind, and the third entry in Nicole Elyse DiPaolo's Accessible Accompaniments series of aria reductions, this is a genuinely playable and piano/vocal reduction of Wie Du warst, Octavian's famous aria from Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier (1911). Mezzos who love this aria no longer need to fear bringing it in for auditions, last-minute performing engagements, or other situations in which the pianist may have to sight-read from the chaotic and unplayable vocal score. Pianists may now enjoy playing this aria comfortably, without risking strain/injury. This edition also includes a two-measure recomposed ending four measures after rehearsal 25, making this edition a great choice for concert and audition situations in which another singer isn't available to sing the Marschallin's lines. All Accessible Accompaniments, including this one, boast several unique features:1. No reduction ever requires stretches of over an octave, not including bass notes meant to be held or fudged with the pedal (though octaves may also contain chord tones within them). This reduces the amount of rearranging that smaller-handed pianists must already do. Obviously, further reworkings are to be expected and pianists should feel free to add to or modify what I’ve provided.2. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.1185473). The first of its kind, this is a genuinely playable and slightly-to-moderately simplified piano/vocal reduction of Arrière! Je réchauffe les bons, the Fire Aria from Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges (1925). Sopranos who love this aria no longer need to fear bringing it in for auditions, last-minute performing engagements, or other situations in which the pianist may have to sight-read from the often chaotic vocal score, particularly if the murmuring section after the standard audition cut, which is very poorly rendered in the standard reduction, is also being included. Pianists may now enjoy playing this aria comfortably, without risking strain/injury or audition-room chaos. This Accessible Accompaniment is more generous than standard audition cuts, ending just before L'enfant re-enters with j'ai peur. It is 91 measures in total and ideal for recitals as well. All Accessible Accompaniments, including this one, boast several unique features:1. No reduction ever requires stretches of over an octave, not including bass notes meant to be held or “fudged†with the pedal (though octaves may also contain chord tones within them). Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #893099. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.1303524). The first of its kind, this is a genuinely playable piano/vocal reduction of O Sachs! Mein Freund!, Eva's aria from Richard Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg. Dramatic sopranos who love this aria no longer need to fear bringing it in for auditions, last-minute performing engagements, or other situations in which the pianist is unlikely to know this aria and may become rattled by the chaotic piano reductions in the currently available vocal scores. Pianists with limited practice time may now enjoy playing this aria comfortably as well. Because vocal line/orchestral doublings are characteristic of Wagner, those have been preserved in this edition. All Accessible Accompaniments, including this one, boast several unique features:1. No reduction ever requires stretches of over an octave, not including bass notes meant to be held or “fudged†with the pedal (though octaves may also contain chord tones within them). Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1315461 Composed by Francis Poulenc and Guillaume Apollinaire. Arranged by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. 20th Century,Classical. Score. 11 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #904195. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.1315461). The first of its kind, this is a genuinely playable piano/vocal reduction of Non Monsieur mon mari from Poulenc and Apollinaire's Les mamelles de Tiresias. Sopranos who love this aria no longer need to fear bringing it in for auditions, last-minute performing engagements, or other situations in which the pianist may have to sight-read from the chaotic, poorly notated, and technically demanding vocal score devoid of needed key signatures. Pianists may now enjoy playing this aria comfortably, without risking strain/injury by trying to play reams of excessive 16ths spread out in ways designed for Poulenc's obviously large hands. A few enharmonic respellings in this edition will also provide greater musical understanding for both singers and pianists. This collectionâ??s reductions boast several unique features: 1. No reduction ever requires stretches of over an octave, not including bass notes meant to be held or â??fudgedâ? with the pedal (though octaves may also contain chord tones within them). This reduces the amount of rearranging that smaller-handed pianists must already do. Obviously, further reworkings are to be expected and pianists should feel free to add to or modify what Iâ??ve provided.2. When an inevitable page turn precedes a potentially surprising note or chord, Iâ??ve included the next downbeatâ??s notes in cue-size stemless noteheads at the end of the preceding measure.5. I have preserved beams in 8th and smaller note values within the vocal parts so that pianists, some of whom might not be accustomed to syllabic beaming conventions, will find it easier to follow the singerâ??s rhythms while reading potentially unfamiliar arias.6. When known, Iâ??ve noted alternate cuts that singers might like to take within certain arias.7. In some cases Iâ??ve modernized spelling conventions for easier readability (for example, by replacing â??Ã?â? with â??ssâ? in German arias) and enharmonically respelled brief passages or added key signatures for greater clarity.

The 1st movement opens with a majestic unison theme, as the four trombones announce the arrival of the King. Tea Dance begins with a bass trombone cadenza, and develops into a lyrical representation of an elegant afternoon occasion. The Castle portrays the inner workings of a Royal household, from the bustling to the regal. The trombonists encounter a brief yet playful free section before making their way to the grand finale. The King’s Trio allows the sonority of the bass trombone to be heard while combining elements from the classical, jazz, and 20th century music traditions.

Cello,Flute,Piano,Violin - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1302391 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Kiyoshi Tamagawa. Chamber,Classical. 114 pages. Mastery for Strings Press #892006. Published by Mastery for Strings Press (A0.1302391). The piano concertos of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart remain among the masterpieces in the medium. His early Vienna concertos were scored for full orchestra, but conceived as being performable by a keyboard soloist with string quartet or string orchestra alone. The flexibility of the scoring shows that Mozart was not averse to having them played by more intimate groups, transforming them into chamber music. A rather different aesthetic viewpoint motivated the composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel’s arrangements of seven of Mozart’s piano concertos, composed between about 1825 and 1836. The accompanying ensemble in these arrangements consists not of strings alone but flute, violin, and cello. The participation of the instruments is in fact optional, as the orchestral tuttis are incorporated into the piano part so that a single piano soloist can perform the entire work. The present transcription pays homage to Hummel’s elaborate and beautiful reworkings, well worth performing today, by using the same combination of instruments. The editorial viewpoint, however, is that of maximum fidelity to Mozart’s original text. The hope of the transcriber is twofold: 1) that keyboard performers, instrumentalists and audiences might enjoy this beautiful work in the absence of a full orchestra, and 2) that pianists might use this version to get Mozart’s original solo part in their fingers with a minimum of alteration, for such occasions when they are called upon to perform it.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone - Level 5 - SKU: A0.533912 Composed by Paul Wehage. Contemporary,Standards. 38 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3073965. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533912). This Burning Sun of Grief and Memory... was written for and dedicated tothe French Saxophone Trio Trimurti. The work is a further reworking of thetheatre music which the composer wrote for Nevers, based on the appendix ofMarguerite Duras' script for Hiroshima Mon Amour. The musical material is based on the central motive of this music, which representsboth desire and grief, which are tied together through a veil of remembrance and loss. The work is in several independant sections which are performed without pause, usingall three instruments as independent voices in a typical Trio Sonata texture. This workcould also be seen as a musical expression of performing and preparing the theatre piece, with each of the instruments representing one of the individuals involved in the originalproduction.
