Flute Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.997528 Composed by Victor Somma. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 5 pages. Victor Somma #5725011. Published by Victor Somma (A0.997528). This piece is a transcript of an improvisation that I recorded on March 17, 2020, the first day of the quarantine of COVID-19 in Belgium. The flutist can explore the different nuances of the dynamics and breaths. Further, the musician should explore the possibilities of resonance during the long motivic phrases, which are actually the result of my personal experimentation with these fundamentals.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1248051 Composed by Sir Arthur Seymour Sullivan. Arranged by Ted R. Marcus. 19th Century,Chamber,Romantic Period,Wedding. 31 pages. Ted R. Marcus #842615. Published by Ted R. Marcus (A0.1248051). Day Dreams is a collection of six solo piano miniatures the young Arthur Sullivan published in 1867. The pieces amply demonstrate a natural melodic gift that would reach full fruition in the enduring comic operas Sullivan wrote with W.S. Gilbert. This is a contrasting pair of Daydreams, numbers 2 and 6, arranged for woodwind quintet. The first Daydream, Robert and Clara, is an expressive cantabile aria that evokes the music of Robert Schumann. The oboe, clarinet, and horn sing the complete melody, but everyone gets at least a fragment of it. (This selection is great for weddings and church services as well as for the concert hall.) The second, À l'Hongroise, is the flashy finale of the Day Dreams collection. It's a spirited Hungarian-inspired dance with a chromatic melody in shifting tonality, with harmonic turns audacious enough to thrill even 21st century listeners, culminating in a wide-ranging arpeggio passage for the four woodwinds. Both selections are transposed up half a step from the original keys of D major and f-sharp minor. Arranged for advanced players, the two selections make a great concert opener, closer, or encore. Duration: 6:12Please visit my Web site to explore more classics for adventurous woodwind quintets.

Flute,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548741 By Cat Stevens. By Cat Stevens. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Rock. Score and part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #3415207. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548741). Very strong arrangement for Easter. Duration: 2:48. 84 ms. Score: 7 pg. Solo part 1 pg. piano part 3 pg. Morning Has Broken is a popular and well-known Christian hymn first published in 1931. It has words by English author Eleanor Farjeon and was inspired by the village of Alfriston in East Sussex, then set to a traditional Scottish Gaelic tune known as Bunessan [1] (it shares this tune with the 19th century Christmas Carol Child in the Manger[2]). It is often sung in children's services and in Funeral services.[3] English pop musician and folk singer Cat Stevens included a version on his 1971 album Teaser and the Firecat. The song became identified with Stevens due to the popularity of this recording. It reached number six on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, number one on the U.S. easy listening chartin 1972,[4] and number four on the Canadian RPM Magazine charts. The hymn originally appeared in the second edition of Songs of Praise (published in 1931), to the tune Bunessan, composed in the Scottish Islands. In Songs of Praise Discussed, the editor, Percy Dearmer, explains that as there was need for a hymn to give thanks for each day, English poet and children's author Eleanor Farjeon had been asked to make a poem to fit the lovely Scottish tune. A slight variation on the original hymn, also written by Eleanor Farjeon, can be found in the form of a poem contributed to the anthology Children's Bells, under Farjeon's new title, A Morning Song (For the First Day of Spring), published by Oxford University Press in 1957. The song is noted in 9/4 time but with a 3/4 feel. Bunessan had been found in L. McBean's Songs and Hymns of the Gael, published in 1900.[5] Before Farjeon's words, the tune was used as a Christmas carol, which began Child in the manger, Infant of Mary, translated from the Scottish Gaelic lyrics written by Mary MacDonald. The English-language Roman Catholic hymnal also uses the tune for the James Quinn hymns, Christ Be Beside Me and This Day God Gives Me, both of which were adapted from the traditional Irish hymn St. Patrick's Breastplate. Another Christian hymn, Baptized In Water, borrows the tune. -Wikipedia

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.925227 Composed by Jill Elliott. Christian,Christmas. 9 pages. Daffiddle Music #4628665. Published by Daffiddle Music (A0.925227). Wachet Auf is a popular piece for the first Sunday of Advent. This Prelude, based on the old hymn tune, Bristol, is intended principally for use on the second Sunday of Advent. Our church group has always played it in the version for solo flute and string quartet, but this version for wind quintet could be useful. Please note that the flute part is the most difficult. The clarinet, oboe and horn parts are easy. The flautist and bassoonist will have to breathe where they need to: different players can make their breath last longer!

Published by Daffiddle Music (A0.925226). Wachet Auf is a popular piece for the first Sunday of Advent. This Prelude based on the old hymn tune, Bristol, is intended principally for use on the second Sunday of Advent. Our church music group has always played it in this arrangement, ie. with a flute solo, cello playing the continuo bass and various members of the band supplying the chorale, which appears from time to time through the piece. The obligato part could be played by a violin instead of a flute, and I will shortly provide a version for clarinet.
