This sheet music is notated for handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate 1-staff score for each instrument. This set of scores uses black and white noteheads. This same set of scores is available (sold separately) with color coded noteheads which may make it easier for beginning players if you have access to a color printer.Notes used for each instrument are as follows: Bells – C D E F G A C* where C* is high C, one octave above middle C  Boomwhackers® – C D E F G A B Though this sheet music is notated for Handbells and Boomwhackers®, this arrangement is playable by any 8-note, C major diatonic scale (one octave) instrument such as a xylophone or glockenspiel.Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. Lyrics and chord names are provided as well to aid in the learning and teaching of this song. The staves are shown without sharps or flats for simplicity since even though this song is actually written in the key of F major, no sharps or flats are used.The number of ringers and whackers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. For more advanced players, each person could be assigned one to three notes. For beginners, it is best to assign one note to each person. Beginner Piano SolosMiddle C PositionFive-Finger formatThis is a collection of 20 hymns and spirituals arranged for beginning piano students. These arrangements are formatted in the traditional five-finger style with the melody split between the hands and without key signatures.  All 20 songs are written in Middle C Position where all notes are played singly centered around Middle C (diagrams are provided showing notes and finger placement). No fingering is notated on the sheet music to encourage students to learn to read the notes instead of using the fingering numbers to play the song. Thus, this collection makes a great sight-reading book, especially if some of the songs are unfamiliar. Some songs require playing the B-flat note in the left hand or the F-sharp note in the right hand. For the few songs that use one of these two black notes, the flats or sharps are displayed beside the note on the staff, not in the key signature (special diagrams are provided showing finger placement for the sharps and flats used).These arrangements are perfect for introducing classic Christian songs to beginning pianists. They can be used as supplementary repertoire for first year piano students. UPC: 749193025956.The tune DIM OND JESU by Welsh-American composer Robert Lowry appeared in older Welsh hymnals paired with the text, Praise the Lord, ye heav’ns adore Him. Sometime in the early 1900’s, it was also paired with a William Rees text, Here is Love Vast as the Ocean. Karen has lifted up her own Welsh ancestry by arranging this lovely, lyrical tune for handbells. It is appropriate for worship and also provides a quiet change of pace in concert settings. If desired it may be played along with a 36 string harp, which has a separate but compatible score.
