Welcome to your new favorite chart to play with your quartet! This Cellobat arrangement of the Irish traditional tune "Whiskey In The Jar" is anything but traditional. Unlike other versions that are entirely made up of the song's melody line repeated in the V1 part over a basic accompaniment, this chart features lush harmonies, countermelodies, and octave changes, passes the melody back and forth between the violins, and intertwines original solo and fiddle breakdown sections in between the verses (these aren't too difficult to play, but seem fast and impressive enough to make your audience's jaw drop!). This song is about 3:07 in duration and will be fun to play and exciting to listen to the entire time...your audience is guaranteed to get up and dance! It's a must-have for your quartet for St. Patrick's Day, of course, but also great for parties, events, solo & ensemble contests, or any other occasion that needs an upbeat fiddle vibe. Rated advanced-intermediate for a handful of interesting syncopated rhythms and some fast finger work, this arrangement will be playable for students and sightreadable for professionals - only the V2 part goes beyond first position.

The Traditional Christmas Carol Joy to the World has been cleverly arranged in a jazz style for 6-part Tuba Ensemble (3 Euphoniums and 3 Tubas) by Los Angeles studio Trombonist, composer and arranger Randy Aldcroft. The arrangement was commissioned by Jim Self for his recent Christmas album, Tis The Season Tuba Jolly on Basset Hound Records.

The music includes a lush jazz-chorded introduction followed by a jazz waltz. This 4-minute arrangement is perfect for moderately advanced performers.

Bass and Treble parts are included for the Euphonium parts.

Leave Her, Johnny! The Sea is done with us! This traditional and well loved shanty is a sailor's ode to a life at sea upon retiring. This is not typically a rowdy shanty, and so the solo's more reflective moments echo the sentiments of of change as a life-long sailor gives up his home on the water.
This can easily be adapted for a violin player to play the top line, accompanied by the piano solo.

7.40pm is a traditional Russian Jewish tune, often performed by Klezmer musicians. This version is arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Clarinet.

It isn?t completely clear where the title 7.40pm comes from. One interpretation is that 7.40pm was the time the Odessa tram conductors finished work and danced to this tune. But there are versions titled 7.40am which may refer to the time of Jewish early morning prayers. Whatever the origin, there are several Russian recordings of 7.40pm that predate the 1917 revolution.

7.40pm is simply arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. After a slow and expressively beginning, the melody switches to dance tempo. 7.40pm is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a performance time of a little over three minutes, this version of 7.40pm is perfect for recital and concert performances, both formal and informal.
