Published by Cody Weinmann (A0.835160). This piece is an arranged version of the first movement of composer Muzio Clementi's Sonatina in C (Op.36, No.2). What inspired this arrangement is a fondness for extending harder repertiore to the students at lower levels, by making some of the rhythms less complex than those of the original pieces. This is to ensure that the tradition of passing on classical music (and all other forms) is carried on throughout generations. This piece has many of the fast eighth note passages in both hands somewhat broken down into slightly larger rhythm durations so that the young student or performer can play it without too much difficulty. There is also a bit of dynamic contrast thrown in throughout to introduce the player to different expressive text. Below is a brief legend of some of the terms and symbols used in this arrangement. Alpha-note names are also written inside the note heads for the player's reference.Cody Weinmann is a composer, arranger and a pianist who writes in manydifferent types and genres of music. He was the Pianist for the Isis Piano Trio and Ballet Creations and is now in demand as an accompanist and chamber musician having performed with artists such as Dame Sarah Connolly and Tasmin Little. He has toured widely internationally and has recorded for BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM as well as TV appearances in Russia and Egypt. This work, written in 1994, was one of my first parodies. Taking another composer's piece and 'messing it up', so to speak, became an important preoccupation for me. Clementi (Op. 36 No. 1) obviously is the victim here, and you can easily follow the original throughout. In the first movement I added a dissonant left hand part, and the result is basically bitonal, with a few quotes added from other famous tunes. In the second movement the material is moved up two octaves to imitate a music box and, just as would happen to a real wind-up music box, the tempo gets slower and slower until......oh no! The final dominant seventh doesn't resolve! Anarchy! Finally, the last movement stays completely faithful to the original, except that every measure is transposed to a different key. It's a great ear-bender, and as Mozart says in the movie Amadeus, It's so new! And the title, 'Snotty Tina,' is a corruption of 'Sonatina.'

Yet, this whole idea of music of the night did not originate with him, but with John Field. Clementi's sorely-tried apprentice and protege', and a confirmed alcoholic, moved from London and Clementi's captivity to spend his adulthood, short as it was, in Moscow, of all places. It was there he began to write his long series of romantic, ( small R? ) pieces, with simple vocalistic melodies, over an arpeggiated left-hand bass. This piece marks the beginning of the genre, and, as such, warrants the attention of everyone who admires Chopin's works. Our setting here uses chord symbols for every LH arpeggio, so that the player can get used to harmonic identification as the primary means of seeing and hearing the LH. All the ornamentation is written out, for stylistic clarity. As with so much classical music, a slow pace brings out lingering subtleties, while a faster one can create movement and excitement, if one has the technique! MBB .

This Piano Solo was requested by 11 year old Brian, who is in Level VI piano. Brian likes tonal music, and his favorite composer is Muzio Clementi. He also likes science, drawing, technology, and travel - especially flying. He would like to be a pilot someday. Brian requested a fast piece, not too long, tonal, in the key of G - kind of like Clementi. This is part of a collaboration between composers and students. It is a project of the Oregon Music Teachers Association and the Cascadia Composers chapter of NACUSA (National Association of Composers USA). The annual concert, titled In Good Hands, features original compositions that are chosen by OMTA teachers for their students. In 2021, the project includes individualized collaboration where composers wrote for specific students. The composers met with the students, and together they decided on a composition written according to the requests of the student.

The song was recorded to great success by The Mindbenders and Phil Collins.The title was an early use of the slang word groovy, and both women were interested in using the word because they recognized it as new and happening. Wine said, Carole came up with 'Groovy kinda… groovy kinda… groovy…' and we're all just saying, 'Kinda groovy, kinda groovy, kinda…' The Mindbenders version entered the Record Retailer chart on January 19, 1966, at number 34 before peaking at number two on March 16. It was kept from the number one spot by These Boots Are Made for Walkin' by Nancy Sinatra. It exited the chart on April 20 at a position of 37 after spending 14 weeks on the chart.

It was originally in G major and is transposed to A flat major to facilitate performance for the advancing clarinetist. I have named this series of publications – Just the Notes, simply because that’s all you get. No dynamics, bowings, phrasings, fingerings, etc. This simplifies your editing. There is not a need to erase from the original, or even worse, try to write over the original print. Also, to save you money movements are sold individually. I composed this sonata back in 2012 and it was given a filmed premiere by Brett Parnell on banjo and Daniel Corr on guitar.The first movement is a sonata form that opens in G minor and ends in G major. The second movement is a set of variations on an old shape note tune known as Star in the East, and the third movement is a five-part rondo that recapitulates themes from the first and second movements. This sonata is part of a larger cycle of chamber sonatas I have been composing since 2000 which began with my sonata for flute and guitar and pairs the guitar up with woodwinds, strings and brass. The over-arching concept that guides the chamber sonata cycle as I've been working on it is to draw upon Haydn and Clementi's monothematic sonata forms as a template for synthesizing 18th century galant era processes of gestural development with American vernacular and popular styles, often from the age of ragtime up through to the 1940s and beyond.
