Piano (4 hands) - easy to intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904). Edited by Monika Twelsiek. This edition: Sheet music. Edition Schott - Single Edition. Copyright 2007 Schott Music GmbH & Co. KG, Mainz. Downloadable. Op. 46/8. Schott Music - Digital #Q15389. Published by Schott Music - Digital
It is with the 'Slavonic Dances' Op. 46 that Antonin Dvorak won international breakthrough in 1878. Apart from Symphony No. 9, 'From the New World', and Cello Concerto Op. 104, they are among the best-known works by Dvorak.<br> Unlike Brahms in his 'Hungarian Dances', Dvorak did not use any original melodies but incorporated characteristic elements of Slavonic dance music in his own melodic invention.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1088119 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Classical. 12 pages. RayThompsonMusic #692364. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1088119). Arranged wind quintet. Horn Part in Bb basso ( same as Beethoven's )(alt Hn in F part provided) The Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93 is a symphony in four movements composed by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1812. Beethoven fondly referred to it as my little Symphony in F, distinguishing it from his Sixth Symphony, a longer work also in F.[1] The Eighth Symphony is generally light-hearted, though not lightweight, and in many places cheerfully loud, with many accented notes. Various passages in the symphony are heard by some listeners to be musical jokes. As with various other Beethoven works such as the Opus 27 piano sonatas and the later Ninth Symphony, the symphony deviates from Classical tradition in making the last movement the weightiest of the four. This is my arrangement of the 2nd mvt. There is a widespread belief that this movement is an affectionate parody of the metronome, which had only recently been invented (or more accurately, merely improved) by Beethoven's friend, Johann Maelzel. Specifically the belief was that the movement was based on a canon called Ta ta ta... Lieber Maelzel, WoO 162, said to have been improvised at a dinner party in Maelzel's honor in 1812. However, there is no evidence corroborating this story and it is likely that WoO 162 was not written by Beethoven but was constructed after-the-fact by Anton Schindler. A more likely inspiration was the similar rhythmic parody of Joseph Haydn's Clock Symphony. The metronome-like parody starts at the very beginning of the movement with even staccato chords in 16th-notes (semiquavers). This basic 16th-note rhythm continues fairly steadily through the piece. The tempo is unusually fast for a symphonic slow movement. Richard Wagner has argued that the third movement was intended as the slow movement of this symphony and that the second should be played as a scherzo.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869356 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 113 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #15879. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869356). Instrumentation: 1 flute, 1 oboe, 1 English horn, 2 bassoons, 2 French horns, timpani and strings.Program note: In the year 2010, my wife Kristin Beckwith and I went to Paris twice, the first time in May and the second time in December right after Christmas. The weather was magnificent in May. Our friends Seph and Roger met us there. Being long-time veterans of Paris, they took us all over the city: Le Marais, the Left Bank, Montmartre, Sacré Coeur, Père LaChaise cemetery, Avenue des Champs-Élysées, Jardin du Luxembourg, Jardin des Tuileries, Notre Dame cathedral, Eiffel Tower, the flea market at Porte de Clignancourt, the canal at Saint Martin, etc. Since the weather was so great we basically stayed outside the entire two weeks. My wife Kris said that we had to return next again to Paris to go inside the museums. So we did. The weather in Paris after Christmas was very damp and chilly. So we did indoor activities: Le Louvre, Musée D’Orsay, Palais Garnier, etc. We even attended a beautiful performance of Swan Lake by the Paris Opera Ballet at L’Opéra Bastille. I should also mention that on both occasions I met up with a former student of mine from Berklee, Joe Makholm. He makes a living in Paris playing jazz piano. Joe got us a gig at the Swan Bar in Montparnasse. On the first occasion we did it as a trio with a French bass player. I played flute. On the second occasion, we did it as a duo. Playing jazz in Paris? You can’t beat that!!! Early this year, Steven Lipsitt and I had a chat about my writing a new work for the Boston Classical Orchestra. My last work for the BCO was a piano concerto with Robert Levin as soloist. I told Steven that this time I wanted to write a symphony. He said, Sure. Go ahead. I told him it would be about Paris. He said he would put Mozart’s Paris Symphony on the same program. I said, Fabulous! Symphony No. 8 … City of Light (2011) is in five movements. 1. La Seine Presto, Moderato 2. Basilique du Sacré-Coeur Largo 3. Palais Garnier Allegro, Trio 4. Avenue des Champs-Élysées Allegro 5. Musée du Louvre Largo, Moderato This work is dedicated to my wife and muse, Kristin Beckwith. Brass Ensemble Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792308 Composed by Saint-Saëns, Camille. Arranged by Sauer, Ralph. 20th Century,Classical,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 45 pages. Gordon Cherry #4804495. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792308). The Adagio from Symphony No. 3 (also known as the Organ Symphony) is part of the final movement of this great symphony by Saint-Saëns. The music is deeply felt and conveys great spiritual conviction. Mr. Sauer's new arrangement has used all of Saint-Saen's music and he has scored it for 8 trombones with an optional 9th part on contra bass trombone. The Adagio was one of the Chief's (Emory Remington's) favourites; the late Mrs. Laura Remington had been the long-time organist with the Rochester Philharmonic and hearing the music would bring back a flood of memories often with tears. This music is 8 1/2 minutes in length and can be performed by moderately advanced players. Some of the parts are in tenor clef.

Published by Han-Ki Kim (A0.511812). Symphony No.1 “KangKangSullae†Symphony No. 1 has the name “KangKangSullaeâ€, and the composer is like any other korean composer. “What does it mean to be Korean?†With the question, he is trying to compose such works. A Korean work means a work that contains Korean emotions and spirit, and the melody of “KangKangSullae†has been handed down through a long history to this day, so it can be said that it is a keepsake containing the soul of Korea. With this in mind, the theme of “KangKangSullae†was cited in the 4th movement, and it was named as a representative name for the Symphony as an element that forms the basic character of this movement. For reference, the origin of “KangKangSullae†is from women's circular dance. It was because they valued the relationship between each other. They held hands, sang and danced, and it was a representative event to commemorate the full moon and the harvest. The first movement is in 6/8 time, and two contrasting themes, masculine and feminine, appear in normal sonata form. The second movement crosses the natural harmonics of the violin and the normal playing method in 4/4 time, expressing oriental excellence and emotion. The third movement is composed in a short ABA form with a humorous lightness and weight in 3/8 time. The fourth movement quoted the theme of “Ganggangsullae†in 8/12 time, and was composed in the form of variations that change with various personalities, sometimes majestic, sometimes sobbing, calmly, etc.Attached Music file is only 1st. movement, it's just for a reference.

Symphony No. 7 by Beethoven for Bassoon Duet

Bassoon,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1150642 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Film/TV,Instructional,Romantic Period,Traditional. 8 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #750820. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1150642). This arrangement adapted for bassoon duo was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change of key, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as for use in ensemble practice between musicians of different traditions. Ludwig van Beethoven began concentrated work on his Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92 in 1811, it was completed in 1812, and was dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries, and premiered in Vienna on December 8, 1813. It is considered a remarkable example of the more ebullient side of Beethoven's compositional personality and evidence that even after the onset of deafness, he still found cause for musical optimism. The second movement Allegretto is a funeral march in everything but name. Often several contrasting melodic ideas are made to coexist, as if Beethoven were imagining several processions converging on the cemetery at the same time. As he was working on this symphony during the years of the Napoleonic Wars, this experience was probably within his experience. It was also used as the soundtrack to the film Knowing, by director Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage, where it is used in the final scene of the film. Beethoven called Symphony No. 7 his most excellent symphony, and a music critic of the time reported, this symphony is the most melodically rich and the most pleasing and comprehensible of all Beethoven's symphonies..

This arrangement adapted for flute and bassoon duet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.740281 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by Craig Garner. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 69 pages. Dorm 40 Music #6212407. Published by Dorm 40 Music (A0.740281). Symphony No. 8 has been called more of a Slavonic rhapsody than a symphony. The folk-song character of the music is unmistakable, which makes it so much fun to play. The fourth movement (Finale) of this symphony has been carefully abridged to retain all of the charm and lyricism of the original orchestral version. Scored for 10-part brass ensemble, every part is challenging.Performance time is about 6:30. The Euphonium part is provided in both treble and bass clef. Brass Ensemble Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792821 Composed by Anton Bruckner. Arranged by Randall Malmstrom. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 42 pages. Gordon Cherry #6684765. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792821). Bruckner's Adagio from Symphony No. 8 has been arranged by Randall Malmstrom for an 8-part Trombone Ensemble. The Adagio is noteworthy in being the longest slow movement in the musical repertoire, (clocking in between 25 and 35 minutes in length) and the only work of his that uses a harp and cymbals. This beautiful 6-minute fragment is lush, deeply spiritual, solemn and warm. This movement is the central emotional core of the entire work. It is appropriate for advanced performers.Part 8 may be performed on a contrabass trombone for added depth.
