Large Ensemble C Instrument - Digital Download SKU: A0.1017727 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Thomas Gray. Celtic,Folk,Irish,Multicultural,World. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 1 pages. Thomas Edward Gray Music #6660807. Published by Thomas Edward Gray Music (A0.1017727). 'Cliffs of Moher' is a stirring Irish jig that's great fun to play. It's prominent and loved and is played across the world in pubs, on stage and at Irish music sessions. It is a great jig for beginners and experts alike.History: The Cliffs of Moher are a series of sea cliffs in the Burren region of County Clare, Ireland. The cliffs are named after an old promontory fort known as Morthar or Moher that was positioned at the southernmost point of the coastline. The fort was demolished in 1808 to provide material for a new lookout tower to provide warning of a French invasion during the Napoleonic wars. The cliffs are now one of Ireland’s top tourist attractions, with over one and half million people visiting annually. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.891206 Arranged by Dandelion Music Press. Contemporary,Folk,World. Octavo. 15 pages. Dandelion Music Press #3104497. Published by Dandelion Music Press (A0.891206). This tender lullaby is a touching memorial for an end of life commemoration of a parent or caregiver. Here is a great opportunity to collaborate with a children's or youth choir and Irish instrumentalists, or to freely substitute any treble solo and Western instrumental equivalent.Included in Project:Encore 2017, Quarter 1 Lost Songs of Ancient Ireland, for Mixed Choir with Treble Descant, Piano or Harp, Bodhran, Irish Flute, and Violin, is a three-movement song cycle that focuses on the shifting relationships over the scope of a lifetime from the differing perspective of each person involved.I. Old Beggarman- Two interwoven jigs, It Was an Old Beggarman, Weary and Wet and Ag an mBóithrÃn Buà (At the Yellow Little Road), of both a young lady's observation of a wandering beggarman and his unrequited, possibly unexpressed, love for her. They are offered together as alternate perspectives from potential romantic partners, and features lilting, mouth music, or portaireacht bhéil (port a'bhéil, mouth-singing) as it is known in Irish Gaelic.II. I Would Rock My Child to Sleep- A sentimental Irish lullaby Irish lullaby Do Chuirfinnse Féin Mo Leanbh a Chodladh (I Would Put My Own Child to Sleep) highlights the shifting roles of a caregiver: the parent full of hopes of the parent for the child morphing over a lifetime into a blessing from the grown child to the aged parent. Each verse is progressively based upon an overall narrative: 1. hopes of the parent for the child 2. an easy, natural rhythm to family life, possibly the child is older now, and there is a dream of family continuance 3. uncertainty over who is nurturing who: does the child now sing to comfort the parent? 4. a closing blessing for peace and rest that hearkens back to the successful sleep of a tired infantIII. The Drummer- An energetic reel, a combination of Maidin Fhómhair, nó CailÃn Péacach (The Harvest Maiden, or Sprouting Maiden) and Cormac Spáinneach, nó An Drumadóir (Cormac Spaineach, or The Drummer), alternating between romantic partners encased by a nostalgic love song, suggesting the passing of a lifetime.Commissioned by Cora Voce; Tacoma, WAMovements available for purchase separately.2017 Choral Contest EntryLaurie Betts Hughes, ASCAP | www.LaurieBettsHughes.com

The Last Rose of Summer - Tenor with piano in A

Tenor Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1492638 Composed by Tho…

Tenor Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1492638 Composed by Thomas Moore. Arranged by Alex Nunes Rodrigues. Folk. 2 pages. Alex Rodrigues #1069316. Published by Alex Rodrigues (A0.1492638). The Last Rose of Summer is a work deeply rooted in Irish culture, originally penned as a poem by the renowned poet and composer Thomas Moore in 1805. Moore, regarded as Ireland’s national poet, was inspired by an 'Old Blush' rose while staying at Jenkinstown Castle in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The poem was published as part of his Irish Melodies collection between 1807 and 1834, and later set to music by fellow Irishman John Stevenson. The song gained widespread popularity and was incorporated into the opera Martha by the German composer Friedrich von Flotow, which premiered in 1847 in Vienna. This sheet music has been adapted for voice and piano, preserving the original melody true to the composition by Moore and Stevenson. The piano arrangement has been simplified to provide an accessible experience for music teachers who, even without extensive piano skills, wish to accompany their students. This arrangement maintains the melodic and emotional essence of the piece, offering a version that honors its traditional nuances while making it approachable for beginner to intermediate musicians. The Last Rose of Summer captures the essence of melancholy and the passage of time—universal themes reflected in the farewell to the last vestige of a vibrant summer. The melody, paired with Moore’s poetry, evokes a profound sense of loss and longing, with the solitary rose serving as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of life and the seasons. The simplicity and beauty of this piece have made it a classic, both in literature and music, perpetuating Irish tradition and touching the hearts of listeners worldwide.
