The piece is thou very simple and easy to perform. It is appropriate for the harp and it sounds great on any kind of harp. When using a little lap harp, one can easily transpose the bass voice an octave higher. It is a flexible piece, you can play it slower or a little faster and even the arpeggio in the end that becomes quite easy after some practice could be replaced by a simple glissando. You should feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills, Your taste and Your Soul. It is a piece that can be used in many different kinds of situations, from the serious concert hall to a funeral, in Easter or even Christmas celebrations and all other kinds of Spiritual events or even joyful social meetings. When performed Live It will give you back a great feedback from the public, you will always want to have it in your repertoire. Luis Anjos Teixeira „Now comes the Little Story The Volcano`s Lake was composed on a volcano called Pico that stands out about 2000 meters above see level right in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. From the bottom of the ocean to its pick it is higher than mount Everest. I like to know that there are an enormous amount of different species of whales that live in this area and many others that go there strictly for romance. I went there to perform with the harp but was at the same time deeply morning the death of my Dear Cat Mary Jane that tragically passed away the day before the flight. In this isle I was having at night strange dreams of epic battles and fights between flying Angels and Demons. In one of these dreams „Time and Matter were a byproduct of „Music itself. The wind was blowing, the volcano was dancing and the water on the lake was whispering enchanting melodies. As soon as I woke up I wrote some notes before they vanished away, just a fragment of an idea of what I was listening in the dream. I named it „The Volcano`s Lake, because the „Lake was comforting me with its melodies, I realized that my tears were also becoming the lake itself and in this lake I was becoming one with Mary Jane and all the rest of the Universe. Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the all the Love the wonderful painting and cover design. On the Lake written for advanced SSAA divisi and harp. Fannie Isabelle Sherrick was an American poet who wrote songs and poems throughout the 1860's that captured hearts and minds. I Can Not Say the Sad Good-Bye was one of her notable songs published in 1873. She was both influenced and encouraged by Ella Wheeler Wilcox who she attributed her success to. Her most popular poetry volume entitled Love or Fame and Other Poems was published in 1880 by W.S Bryan of St Louis and she continued writing for many years. ON THE LAKE There's a beautiful lake where the sun lies low, And the skies are warm with their summer glow; And a beautiful picture there I see Where the winds are warm and the waves are free, And the waves lie still in the sun As the flowers at night, when the day is done. You may sing of your silvery seas by night When the moon looks down with a dreamy light; And the stars shine out in the skies above Like the warm sweet gaze of the eyes of love; But the glow on the lake to-day Is a glory that never will fade away. The beautiful lake is a sea of gold And the beauty it wears will never grow old; The trees bend down in the sun's warm glow Till their branches meet in the waves below, And the clouds in the far-off skies Are mirrored anew where the sunlight lies. I love to float where the shadows lie 'Neath the matchless glow of the summer sky; And I love to dream that these waves of light Will never fade in the gloomy night: But I know that the things I love Are as far from my reach as the clouds above. So, rather than repeating a motive, he moves to a new key. He then introduces a different theme in the new key. Hence, he maintained his independence from the Five. Even more, he became the first Russian composer of international stature. Influences Tchaikovsky was probably influenced in his ballet scoring by Léo Delibes. Richard Wagner influenced his symphonic writing. Tchaikovsky’s most famous works include the 1812 Overture, The Nutcracker Suite, and Swan Lake. Also famous are the Violin Concerto in D and the six symphonies. The greatest of the six symphonies may be No. 6, the Pathétique. Swan Lake Op. 20 Tchaikovsky composed Swan Lake in 1875-76. To begin with, most noteworthy the ballet failed to attract a positive reception. Over time, however, the ballet became probably one of the most popular of all of Tchaikovsky’s works. The ballet was certainly first performed by the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow.
