Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1418597 By Andrew McDonald. By Andrew McDonald. Arranged by Andrew McDonald. Christian,Country,Pop. Score. 6 pages. Andrew Mc Donald (Macka Records) #1000171. Published by Andrew Mc Donald (Macka Records) (A0.1418597). Ready To Go is a song about the 10 virgins that are waiting for the bridegroom to arrive. 5 of them forget to bring oil with them to fuel their lamps. The bridegroom is a long time coming and they fall asleep. Then the foolish virgins with no oil go out to buy oil just as the bell chimes. The bridegroom arrives and the door is shut, only the virgins who were ready could go in for the wedding. When Jesus returns we too need to be ready and watching with oil in our lamps. This is the piano and vocal score.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1270160 By Arlo Guthrie. By Arlo Guthrie. Arranged by Craig Hanson. A Cappella,Comedy,Folk. Octavo. 6 pages. Edition Craig Hanson #862589. Published by Edition Craig Hanson (A0.1270160). For TTBB chorus a cappella and solo voice. As performed by Arlo Guthrie.Wanna hear something? You know that Indians never ate clams. They didn't have linguini! And so what happened was that clams was allowed to grow unmolested in the coastal waters of America for millions of years. And they got big, and I ain't talking about clams in general, I'm talking about each clam! Individually. I mean each one was a couple of million years old or older. So imagine they could have got bigger than this whole room. And when they get that big, God gives them little feet so that they could walk around easier. And when they get feet, they get dangerous. I'm talking about real dangerous. I ain't talking about sitting under the water waiting for you. I'm talking about coming after you.Imagine being on one of them boats coming over to discover America, like Columbus or something, standing there at night on watch, everyone else is either drunk or asleep. And you're watching for America and the boat's going up and down. And you don't like it anyhow but you gotta stand there and watch, for what? Only he knows, and he ain't watching. You hear the waves lapping against the side of the ship. The moon is going behind the clouds. You hear the pitter patter of little footprints on deck. ‘Is that you kids?’ It ain't! My god! It's this humongous, giant clam!Imagine those little feet coming on deck. A clam twice the size of the ship. Feet first. You're standing there shivering with fear, you grab one of these. This is a belaying pin. They used to have these stuck in the holes all around the ship… You probably didn't know what this is for; you probably had an idea, but you were wrong. They used to have these stuck in the holes all along the sides of the ship, everywhere. You wouldn't know what this is for unless you was that guy that night.I mean, you'd grab this out of the hole, run on over there, bam bam on them little feet! Back into the ocean would go a hurt, but not defeated, humongous, giant clam. Ready to strike again when opportunity was better. You know not even the coastal villages was safe from them big clams. You know them big clams had an inland range of about 15 miles. Think of that. I mean our early pioneers and the settlers built little houses all up and down the coast you know. A little inland and stuff like that and they didn't have houses like we got now, with bathrooms and stuff. They built little privies out back. And late at night, maybe a kid would have to go, and he'd go stomping out there in the moonlight. And all they'd hear for miles around...(loud clap/belch).... One less kid for America. One more smiling, smurking, humongous, giant clam.So Americans built forts. Them forts --you know—them pictures of them forts with the wooden points all around. You probably thought them points was for Indians but that's stupid! 'Cause Indians know about doors. But clams didn't. Even if a clam knew about a door, so what? A clam couldn't fit in a door. I mean, he'd come stomping up to a fort at night, put them feet on them points, jump back crying, tears coming out of them everywhere. But Americans couldn't live in forts forever. You couldn't just build one big fort around America. How would you go to the beach? So what they did was they formed groups of people. I mean they had groups of people all up and down the coast form these little alliances. Like up North it was call the Clamshell Alliance. And farther down South it was called the Catfish Alliance. They had these Alliances all up and down the coast defending themselves against these threatening monsters. These humongous giant clams. Andt hey'd go out there, if there was maybe fifteen of them they'd be singing songs in fifteen part harmony. And when one part disappeared, that's how they knew where the clam would be.Which is why Americans only sing in four part harmony to this very day. That proved to be too dangerous. See, what they did was they'd be singing these songs called Clam Chanties, and they'd have these big spears called clampoons. And they'd be walking up and down the beach and the method they eventually devised where they'd have this guy, the most strongest heavy duty true blue American, courageous type dude they could find and they'd have him out there walking up and down the beach by himself with other chicken dudes hiding behind the sand dunes somewhere. He'd be singing the verses. They'd be singing the chorus, and clams would hear 'em. And clams hate music. So clams would come out of the water and they'd come after this one guy. And all you'd see pretty soon was flying all over the sand flying up and down the beach manmanclamclammanmanclam manclamclamman up and down the beach going this way and that way up the hills in the water out of the water behind the trees everywhere. Finally the man would jump over a big sand dune, roll over the side, the clam would come over the dune, fall in the hole and fourteen guys would come out there and stab the shit out of him with their clampoons. That's the way it was. That was one way to deal with them. The other way was to weld two clams together. [I don't believe it. I'm losing it. Hey. What can you do. Another night shot to hell.] Hey, this was serious back then. This was very serious. I mean these songs now are just piddly folk songs. But back then these songs were controversial. These was radical, almost revolutionary songs. Because times was different and clams was a threat to America. That's right. So we want to sing this song tonight about the one last... You see what they did was there was one man, he was one of these men, his name will always be remembered, his name was Reuben Clamzo, and he was one of the last great clam men there ever was. He stuck the last clam stab. The last clampoon into the last clam that was ever seen on this continent. Knowing he would be out of work in an hour. He did it anyway so that you and me could go to the beach in relative safety. That's right. Made America safe for the likes of you and me. And so we sing this song in his memory. He went into whaling like most of them guys did and he got out of that, when he died. You know, clams was much more dangerous than whales. Clams can run in the water, on the water or on the ground, and they are so big sometimes that they can jump and they can spread their kinda shells and kinda almost fly like one of them flying squirrels. You could be standing there thinking that your perfectly safe and all of a sudden whop.... That's true... And so this is the song of this guy by the name of Reuben Clamzo and the song takes place right after he stabbed this clam and the clam was, going through this kinda death dance over on the side somewhere. The song starts there and he goes into whaling and takes you through the next...I sing the part of the guy on the beach by himself. I go like this: Poor old Reuben Clamzo and you go Clamzo Boys Clamzo. That's the part of the fourteen chicken dudes over on the other side. That's what they used to sing. They'd be calling these clams out of the water. Like taunting them making fun of them. Clams would get real mad and come out. Here we go. I want you to sing it in case you ever have an occasion to join such an alliance. You know some of these alliances are still around. Still defending America against things like them clams. If you ever wants to join one, now you have some historic background. So you know where these guys are coming from. It's not just some 60's movement or something, these things go back a long time.Notice the distinction you're going to have to make now between the first and easy Clamzo Boys Clamzo and the more complicated Clamzo Me Boys Clamzo. Stay serious! Folk songs are serious. That's what Pete Seeger told me. Arlo I only want to tell you one thing... Folk songs are serious. I said right. Let's do it in C for Clam...Iet's do it in B... For boy that's a big clam... Iet' s do it in G for Gee, I hope that big clam don't see me. Let's do it in F... For …he sees me. Let's do it back in A...for a clam is coming. Better get this song done quick. The Story of Reuben Clamzo and His Strange Daughter in the Key of A.

Her earliest memory was watching her mother play classical piano. She began piano lessons at the age of 8, and started composing shortly thereafter.Stevens approaches her compositions as an artist. She paints musical portraits of the things that bring meaning to life: relationship to living things, emotional healing, discovering what matters most and honoring that as best we are able. Stevens' beautiful piano-based music aligns one with their own heart. Although some of her music can be described as New Age, her roots are heavily based in classical and jazz. Her study of classical composition makes her music more complex than some New Age music. Her music has been likened to the impressionistic composers such as Claude Debussy. Sydney's formal training is also reflected in her ability to compose for orchestral instruments. Her latest release, Cycles of Life, was solely recorded and produced by Sydney, programming all of the virtual instruments.Sydney has a great love for jazz. Keith Jarrett was an influence on her with his innovative and improvisational piano recordings and performances. She was particularly impressed with the freedom of style he portrayed in his performances. Bill Evans was something Sydney heard played as a young child. Where her mother was a classical pianist, her father was a jazz pianist. Perhaps that's why some of Sydney’s music can be described as a crossover between classical and jazz--remnants from those early years. Joni Mitchell and Judy Collins were big inspirations for Sydney's songwriting. She was especially drawn to the deeply emotional lyrics in many of their songs.Cycles of Life, the title track from Sydney's current release, was composed for her late step dad. The song is about the cycle of birth and death: Cycles of life go on, yet we carry all that we've known and loved through the ages. Time, another track on Sydney's current release, is a song about how time passes more quickly when we are doing something we cherish. Brian's Song, inspired by the loss of her father-in-law, reflects: All that really matters is the way we fill our heart, and the ways that it has loved. Dawn, a track from Sydney's album Seasons, is a beautiful piano-based instrumental with light string background. It portrays that very peaceful hour as the sun slowly lights up the world -- the hour of dawn.Sydney is a poet. She sees the world through a heart that feels the joy and sorrow of the world and those she meets. Her gift is the ability to transfer that emotion into music. Listening to her music is like taking a journey. She delves into depths of emotion, often taking the listener to places that can be difficult to go without the comfort of a beautiful song to accompany them.In addition to being a prolific compose.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1308788 Composed by Charles Tenet. Arranged by Tobi Crawford. Jazz. 11 pages. Tobi Crawford #898034. I began playing it unattached to any tune and I just liked the way the line descended in the left hand and how I had to find voicings in the right hand that made harmonic sense – like a puzzle. As I was playing around with this puzzle, thoughts of my father were swirling around in my head – I was at the end of a 4 year period of separation from my parents owing to the fact that I’m a Canadian expat living in the US and the borders were closed for a long time because of Covid, and then I had work visa issues and my parents were getting older before my eyes. They were also losing friends to cancer and other ailments and my dad, in particular, had experienced the loss of many close family members and friends during our separation and it was taking a toll. One day I sat down and played the now familiar-to-me ostinato but randomly I started to sing “Beyond the Sea†over it and it fit perfectly. I thought it a happy coincidence. As the days went on I committed to putting my ostinato with Beyond the Sea and the lyrics started to seep into my brain. I have, of course, heard these lyrics many times before, (who hasn’t seen Finding Nemo?) but the lyrics didn’t mean what I thought they meant… They’re NOT about the ocean, they are about my dad!!! Well, kind of… I realized, through careful reflection and by slowing the words down, that the lyrics are talking about a person in heaven who is patiently waiting for their partner to join them. Somewhere beyond the seaShe’s there watching for me…It’s far beyond the starsIt’s near beyond the moon And the lyrics end with them meeting, “We’ll meet beyond the shore, we’ll kiss just like before,†and the song ends with: “and never again I’ll go sailing.†It’s like the big bang went off in my head about why all these thoughts of my dad, and his friends, and this arrangement, and what it all meant suddenly just MADE SENSE and I was able to start formulating a plan. Performance Suggestions: The improvisation solo in the middle should be free of any traditional “scat syllables†and should be more of a lament. Listen to singers like Aubrey Johnson improvise on ballads for inspiration. An idea for that improv section might be to have a male singer start the improv, then a female singer joins (as if together in heaven) then they sing letter F together (warning: will cause tears…). All solo sections do not have to be sung as written – soloists can take liberties with the melody as the spirit moves.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596585 By Queen. By Freddie Mercury and Frederick Mercury. Arranged by Juan MarÃa Solare. Rock. Score. 5 pages. Juan Maria Solare #5214229. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596585). Love Of My Life -composed by Freddie Mercury- is one of the most beautiful ballads in the history of rock music, and a fantastic song to play as piano solo. This is not a simplified arrangement. Is an arrangement that will sound quite like the original - with the obvious difference that all music and secondary melodies must be played by a single instrument - the piano. This version follows the studio recording, not the version made by Queen for their live performances. My score includes chord symbols, in case you prefer to play them instead of reading exactly each note I've written. You can have a listen at YouTube (and soon on Spotify and other digital platforms): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0J013MNcNU Love Of My Life was included on Queen’s album A Night at the Opera (1975). The ballad was composed for Mary Austin. Freddie Mercury said about this song: Love Of My Life is adapted on stage for guitar, but it was written on the piano. I've totally forgotten the original and if you asked me to play that now, I couldn't. Sometimes, I have to go back to the music sheet, and I can't read that well either. (Queen Archives – Freddie Mercury Interview, Melody Maker 05-02-1981) I hate this thing about trying to recreate the albums on stage. We sometimes deliberately change. Look at 'Love Of My Life', for instance. On record I play piano on that but on stage it's just Brian playing the guitar and me singing it, because it works on stage better that way. (Love Of My Life – Queenpedia.com – Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, John Deacon, Discography, Bibliography, Charts.)

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.744627 Composed by John James Powell and Michael John Mollo. Arranged by Arranged by Elena Fortin. Contemporary. Score. 4 pages. Elena Fortin #5769381. Published by Elena Fortin (A0.744627). Test Drive from How to Train Your DragonComposers John James Powell and Michael John Mollo wrote this soaring piece for the soundtrack from the movie How To Train Your Dragon. You know the moment when Hiccup is training his new dragon Toothless and they go soaring through the skies for the first time--this is the melody that plays in the background! I wrote this arrangement for one of my students, Nicole D. Whenever we are searching for recital pieces or fun music to learn, we usually turn to animated movies. (Maybe because I have been told by some of my students that my taste in music is old--but I got tired of getting blank stares when I suggest some titles of the music I listen to!) At least we can connect on film music--especially animated film music! Nicole is the one that suggested this song--I had watched the movie a couple of times, but never really listened closely to the soundtrack, except to know that I liked it. She was my guinea pig while I was arranging the song and I am thankful for her feedback and suggestions for different parts of the music. This piece is ideal as a recital piece or as a fun piece to learn and perform (maybe a summer project!). The piece is arranged for Early Intermediate players and will challenge them with fingering passages, chord accompaniment that requires a stretch of an octave, and expressive playing. If you enjoyed this arrangement, please check out my other videos or subscribe to my YouTube Channel (the-piano-studio). An original hymn with text by Kathryn Hales below.YouTube video: https://youtu.be/w68JlvntMjcI did not see the vision, Nor dream a prophet’s dream, I only saw the barren desert Stretch forth upon the scene. I was not there when Brigham’s cane Touched the virgin ground Naming the spot the Lord had shown Where a temple would be found. I did not hear the Lord’s own voice As over ocean waves I tossed, Nor spared the death of loved ones dear As the vast plains I crossed. I only felt the Holy Spirit Telling me the work was true, So I obeyed the prophetic words Until my trek was through. I helped dig the rocky soil Before the foundation was laid Then with shovel filled the gaping hole Before Johnston’s army stayed. I did not see the temple’s spires I only saw the walls, I only shaped the granite stones With hammer, chisel, maul. I coaxed oxen through the mud To move stones down a mountain side, I watched our leaders grow old in years, No temple finished before they died. Now soon I too will join them Though I’ve labored oh so long, I’ll not see the rising spires Or sing praises in Hosanna song. I’m just a common earthly man, A laborer in a cause so great, To generations yet unborn, I’m not one you’ll appreciate. Through the years I’ve toiled and sweat, Shared blood and grief and tears, Obeyed the prophet’s call to serve Listened in faith, not fear. Please do not take for granted As you walk through these carved doors, Or hear the echo of carpenters From stairs or roof or floors The love and work that went into Many years of toil and prayer, Feel our spirits in the halls As you enter there. Though the structure’s end I’ll not see, To others who this path may trod, Go forth with diligence and faith Till we finish the work of God.

She delves into depths of emotion, often taking the listener to places that can be difficult to go without the comfort of a beautiful song to.
