Choral Choral (3-Part) - Level 3 - Interactive Download SKU: A0.1300298 Composed by Bryan Wells and Ronald N. Miller. Arranged by Ulf and Ã…sa Nomark. This edition: Interactive Download. Christmas,Pop. 12 pages. Duration 202. UNÃ… Music #4R3j32CsP6xJ3Nfr4rHINO. Published by UNÃ… Music (A0.1300298). Key: C major. This is an easy level choir arrangement of Stevie Wonder's wonderful christmas song Someday at Christmastime. Arranged for three parts; soprano, alto and combined tenor/bass (or baryton). Music and lyrics by: Ron Miller and Bryan Wells Performed by: Stevie Wonder Arranged by: Ulf Nomark for Pop-in & Sing. Philosophy of the Pop-in & Sing Choir arrangements: Known pop songs in a wide range of sub-genres and from the 70's and newly released songs. Easy to learn, usually within an hour The choir sing sings everything, we try to avoid verses with only uhs or ahs. So the arrangement are not backup vocals arrangement, but rather full arrangements where the choir carry the song all the way through. We usually have a shared tenor/bass part, but in some cases where the tenor part is high, we have a separate bass part. We usually try to follow the original quite closely, but sometimes makes simplifications in order to make the song easier to learn. Listen to the arrangement here: https://youtu.be/u1wKDvlSBYU For information about Pop-in & Sing - go to www.popinandsing.com.

Solo Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1453811 Composed by Jan Antonin de Logy (1650-1721). Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Baroque. Individual part. 34 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #1033060. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1453811). Jan Antonin de Logy, count of Rosinthal (1650-1721) was an aristocrat of Bohemia and official of the Austrian empire. As a musician he was a lute player of professional level and seems to have been a refined and prolific composer of single pieces and suites in the French style for his instrument. His compositions are becoming known to us today through important academic research but a lot more work has to be made in this field. The present suite in Em has the following eight movements:1 Allemande2 Courante3 Sarabande La Favorita4 Double5 Gavotte I6 Gavotte II & (Gavotte I da capo)7 Menuett8 GigueNone of these dance movements is too difficult to play, but they are all musically rewarding and the compositional standard is kept high in all of them maintaining a two-part contrapuntal writing throughout the suite. In these editions I prefer not to add any fingerings because I consider that they obscure the optical result rather than clarifying any particular way of playing the music. Especially if tablatures are provided as is the case with this volume the suggested left hand fingerings become quite clear, but Instrumentalists can disregard these suggestions and provide their own fingering and choice of positions.Interactive thematic index has been provided for easy navigation to individual movements either in decorated or in tablature pages and back to the index. If a printed copy is desired, blank pages have been provided for insertion at will and for correct order of left and right side pages.MP3 of the music has been created using the Note Performer playback engine.

ENCIRCLE, Between the Octaves - A Piano Duo Suite (Movement 5 of 7)

Instrumental Duet,Keyboard - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497857 Composed by Jenni Roditi. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 19 pages. Jenni Roditi #1074269. Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497857). Piano Duo 2 pianos/4 hands. Encircle, Between the Octaves, originally called rotate as its impetus was to generate a steadily rotating music. Encircle was later chosen as a more evocative word. The harmony surprised me as it suggested shifts and colourations that I would not have expected to conjure. Two upper rotating parts with melodic narrative are supported by bass and baritone lower parts. The final section adds a dance-like short form to end what could otherwise have run and run and run. Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. The whole suite follows a long line from movement 1 to movement 7. However, individual pieces are well suited to be played alone too. Piano Duo is ideally two Steinway grands, otherwise, whatever is available. An enjoyment of the tensions and relationships generated between the two instruments: grand-upright, upright-electronic keyboard is to be explored as a positive. Each piece creates its own world in the suite and can be part of smaller subgroups taken from the suite, in any combination, but the order of the pieces needs to be maintained if more than one is played. Here is a taste of the background to the musical world of this 53 minute compositional suite. During a reflective time I read the following: The whole philosophy of dharma art (Buddhist art) is that you don't try to be artistic, but you just approach objects as they are, and the message comes through automatically. (Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, from 'True Perception The Path of Dharma Art.' Shambhala 2008, p.133.) The 'objects as they are' became the 'octaves as they are'. As the pieces were composed the octaves had a centring and clarifying role that allowed other material to circulate around or play against them. They acted as pivots, repetitions, drones, ostinati, pointillist nodes, pedals, melodic features, struts, harmonic turnpikes, breathing spaces, bass lines: musical imperatives. The octaves called the musical shots most of the time. When the music pulled a semitone up or down and away from the octaves (as it did quite often) it was especially telling in the context of the ringing spaces the octaves were creating. I became interested in the subtle dislocation that two pianos could provide. By dislocation I mean a degree of tension between the natural acoustics of the two instruments in the room and the players idiosyncrasies as musicians. The whole point of this work was to examine the nature of my syntax, grammar, and compositional thinking. The title demanded one thing above all: what notes am I going to use between these octaves?? My choice of notes was derived in most instances from the tempo, pitch, and rhythm of the initial octaves at the beginning of each piece alongside the individual word titles that I set out to explore as musical images. The audio was developed from Sibelius software, via MIDI to Logic samples of a Steinway grand piano.

Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497861). Piano Duo 2 pianos/4 hands. Ritualise, Between the Octaves finally found its identity with the word ritualise. It began as announce, became pronounce, then declare and went as far a pontificate for a title. At that point I realised I was mocking my own music and needed to take it more seriously. Ritualise brought out a meaning to the music that I hadn’t wanted to admit to. It is quite folk-like, in a primal and entrancing kind of way. I can imagine a communal dance for some ceremonial purpose in this music with both public and private elements.Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. The whole suite follows a long line from movement 1 to movement 7. However, individual pieces are well suited to be played alone too. 3 Preludes for a Quarantine for Solo Piano

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.995184 Composed by Anthony Bannach. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 16 pages. Anthony Bannach Music #5794481. Published by Anthony Bannach Music (A0.995184). I hope everyone has been doing well during this crazy time. Originally I wrote these preludes as parts of composing exercises for Alan Belkin's book Music Composition: Craft and Art. They sat around for a bit until during the quarantine when I took a look at them again. I realized that these pieces had a lot of character to them, and they were quite distinct in nature. The first movement is a simple ternary form piece which begins and ends in the key of g minor and has a very neo-romantic tonal space. The B section is a brisk, more straight-forward tonal texture, but has a fun little twist sequencing up near the end of the section. The second movement was composed with the B vs Bb dichotomy functioning as a germinating cell for the rest of the movement's material. More impressionistic and mysterious than the other two movements, it also lacks a more traditional formal structure, instead relying on the development of motivic cells to make the movement cohere together in a logical way. The third movement is also a modified ternary movement, but with the A sections being played at different speeds, and the second A ending having an outro section attached. The B section is also more like a sonata form developmental section (without the required tonic-dominant modulatory feature). This movement is not only tonally very colorful, but also dynamic in regards to tempo, slowing and quickening often, giving the piece a continual sense of renewed spirit. Rather than just release the preludes as seperate pieces, I found that when played in a certain sequence, they represent a progression of mental and spiritual being that many people have, including myself, been going through during this time. As such, I made them into a suite. If it brings you a little bit of joy or excitement during this time (and after this is over), that's all that I can hope for.

Piano Duo - 2 pianos, 4 hands. Surrender, Between the Octaves was the piece that was composed first in the suite. It exposes a simple call to return to the beginning, to return to a pure act of listening. This note..ah, now that note.. oh. This is how the piece was written - one note at a time. Listening from within a space (its original title) of resonance, of edges and meetings, of disappearances and repetitions that reflect on this gentle body of notes. There is a slow hearing that may, or may not create a tone-journey.Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. Instrumental Duet,Keyboard - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497852 Composed by Jenni Roditi. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 17 pages. Jenni Roditi #1074264. Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497852). Piano Duo 2 pianos/4 hands. Curve, Between the Octaves points to a fugal past, where lines enter and build in stately flow. It invites lines to intermingle, without assuming they will all arrive somewhere, or at the same time. A certain intensity builds, then scales, both up and down, free themselves from the discussion of the interleaving lines. The chromaticism suggests curving between harmonies, and is nearly always ambivalent. An assertive chordal climax intervenes to shake off the tensions, yet this peels away into further curvatures that twist and twirl, until a final resting point agrees to present itself. Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. The whole suite follows a long line from movement 1 to movement 7. However, individual pieces are well suited to be played alone too. Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.870391 Composed by Giovanni Gabrieli. Arranged by Randy A. Steinberg. Baroque. Score and parts. 24 pages. Randy A. Steinberg #1984027. Published by Randy A. Steinberg (A0.870391). Giovanni Gabrieli was no mere composer. He was an event. The figure at the nexus of many things all coming together in one grand tide. The greatest church in the greatest city of Europe. Freedom of intellectual thought. A Venetian School of composers at the forefront of musical innovation. The printing press and musical publishing. A Doge (Chief Magistrate or Duke) willing to spend, and spend big, on musical pomp and ceremony. A dearth of wealth and money to fund the grandest celebrations. He was the leading Italian composer and organist in Venice at its greatest heights at the chasm between the end of the Renaissance and the beginning of the Baroque period in music. One of the most popular of his smaller instrument works are the 4 Canzonas. Presented here is the second of them written around 1608. Quite popular among brass players, this work starts with a running theme that is almost fugue-like as it passes from one instrument to the next. A great work from Gabrieli, it is complex in structure yet never loses its pleasing sonorities that build until the final climax.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1158195 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Film/TV,Instructional. 41 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #758471. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1158195). A hypercube is a theoretical cuboid-like fourth-dimensional object. In an attempt to explain spatial dimentions, I created an 18-minute video presentation titled “Dimensions Unfurled†exposing some initial fallacies of common thought, which can be seen on YouTube. All of the music for the above-mentioned video is original. There are two trumpet duets in the section that depicts a hypercube net folding into a hypercube model, starting at 13’20†and 14’51, respectively. Both duets are published in a collection titled “Fifteen-Course Dinner for Two†(available through Gilded Music Press). The two duets share thematic material, and are combined and greatly expanded for this present major six-minute work for brass quintet, “Building a Hypercubeâ€. The first short duet, “Drawing a Hypercube Netâ€, is presented as the quintet’s introduction, quite faithfully to the original, shared through five parts with harmonic expansion. The material from the second duet is essentially unadulterated starting at measure 27, spanning through measure 70 (up to letter D). From there, the development of thematic material is extensive and interesting, morphing into Escher-types of additional themes and melodies, many of which overlap and intertwine in a fascinatingly complex manner. This unsettling compositional style is indicative of years of profound pondering to fathom the mysterious matter of the fourth spatial dimension. Musically the piece is motivically and thematically unified. All the parts share in the rhythmic complexity fitting for the ponderous topic. The form is roughly sonata form with an introduction and coda, though the recapitulation (Del Segno) occurs in its original key. The majority of the piece (about three minutes, almost exactly half) is the symbolically explorative development section, from D to O. A point of interest: in spite of the piece’s high harmonic rhythm, the introduction is diatonically modal (G Mixolydian). The exposition, after a brief building transition, shifts to the relative D Dorian mode. The lengthy development section shifts tonal centers throughout, visiting various major and minor keys. Beginning at letter O, modality returns for a smooth transition into the recapitulation. The piece ends with an exhilarating coda.

Flavio Regis Cunha #4580341. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha (A0.597213). This arrangement of Go tell it on the Mountain is unique in its conception. It has a beautiful conduction of voices, counterpoints and harmonies quite interesting. For each stanza there is a contrasting differentiation and ends in a surprising ending. The arrangement is challenging, but at the same time, legal to rehearse and interpret. It is possible for an intermediary group to sing it.Flavio Regis Cunha is a pianist, conductor and composer from São Paulo - Brasil. Instrumental Duet,Keyboard - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497847 Composed by Jenni Roditi. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 11 pages. Jenni Roditi #1074259. Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497847). Piano Duo 2 pianos/4 hands. Thread, Between the Octaves grew out of the call the make a single line weave between the octaves. Line was the original title. Thread, as a word, brings more texture to the title and describes what the line is actually doing, threading around the harmony. A secondary thread is heard after a while, echoing and shading the primary line, with its own treble weave. It was like going back to the beginning of making melody again.Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite.

Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497866). Piano Duo - 2 pianos/4 hands. Ignite, Between the Octaves began with the impetus of static ‘pulsation’ (its original title) on repeated octaves. The piece is a fizzing dash of nodal vortices, small, then larger, spinning and tumbling and all the way to the finish line. This piece brings the complete suite of 7 pieces to a dynamic close, with a sense of ignition to new beginnings. The music echoes the opening F octaves of Initiate (movement 1). Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. The whole suite follows a long line from movement 1 to movement 7. However, individual pieces are well suited to be played alone too. Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497831). For Piano Duo - 2 pianos/4hands. Initiate, Between the Octaves, the opening piece in the suite, is a sparky, rhythmic and post-modern hoquet, of some wit and almost perpetual bounciness. A ricocheting of quickly contrasting dynamics with occasional switches to distant moments. Three big plunges into legato emotional flow, release the popping bubbles of the fiery staccato material. A short final chorale settles and grounds the quick cuts, swoops and build ups that have propelled the whole piece. Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. Recorder Solo,Treble Recorder - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1261477 Composed by Daniel de Moivre (1687-1731). Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Baroque. Individual part. 88 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #854554. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1261477). PREFACEThese eight suites for solo recorder are amongst the relatively fewcompositions by Daniel de Moivre that have survived for us through the centuries. Not very much is known of the life of this composer, except that hewas a French Huguenot, the younger brother of the well-known French mathematician Abraham de Moivre, with whom he movedfrom France to England after their imprisonment in France for being protestants, and it is recorded that they both became denizens ofGreat Britain on 16/12/1687. It seems that both brothers earn their livings mostly by teaching in their respective subjects for the rest of their lives. Daniel de Moivre had early training in France in recorderand composition, and in England he was known as one of the bestrecorder players at the time, together with Paisible, Banister Loilet and others. The solo suites that follow are of moderate technical difficulty andform a good basis for advancing the recorder technique to higher levels. But primarily are well made baroque dance tunes that can beused for both study and recreation. All ornaments are marked as trills starting usually on the upper note, but some of them can be interpreted as mordents or inverted mordents. There are quite a few baroque-rondeau movements withinthese suites, marked with double bar lines but without repeats.Repeats are optional here, and it depends on personal aesthetics. I find the following scheme of playing baroque- rondeau movements quite satisfactory: AA-BB-A-CC-ALegato marks and other slurs were not included in the original andare left to the performer’s decision. All tempi are only editorial suggestions which can be ignored to a reasonable degree. This volume has been created with decorated and undecorated pages and with individual front covers for each suite so that the user can add or omit pages at will and create his own book designs. The mp3 sample contains various movements from all suites.Socrates ArvanitakisLondon 2021.

Arranged by Jim Fieldhouse. Jazz. 24 pages. Nefarious Music Publications #4595267. Published by Nefarious Music Publications (A0.875875). That's A Plenty was originally a piano rag written in 1914 by Lew Pollack but some time later, lyrics were added by Ray Gilbert. The tune soon became a very popular dixieland jazz standard. This arrangement was written for The Eclipse Saxophone Quartet in the UK and recorded on their 2001 album. It was meant very much as a tongue-in-cheek comedy vaudeville piece and proved very popular with both jazz and classical audiences. From an initial simple statement of the tune, this arrangement moves through several different styles, from bebop and show-two feel to an over-the-top waltz and becomes quite technically demanding in places. Enjoy all the saxophonic effects, such as note bends and glissandos, exaggerate the dynamic contrasts and keep the music sounding humorous, even in the more challenging sections.Standard S/A/T/B sax quartet scoringDifficulty Rating : AdvancedIf you enjoy this title please check out the other arrangements by this publisher at https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/nefarious-music-publications/11562Titles includeSummertime (in a latin funk style)My Funny Valentine (funky shuffle)Donna LeeManteca

The ballet was composed in 1916–17 for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. The ballet premiered on Friday, May 18, 1917, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with costumes and sets designed by Pablo Picasso, choreography by Léonide Massine (who danced), and the orchestra conducted by Ernest Ansermet. The ballet was remarkable for several reasons. It was the first collaboration between Satie and Picasso, and also the first time either of them had worked on a ballet, thus making it the first time either collaborated with Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes. The plot of Parade incorporated and was inspired by popular entertainments of the period, such as Parisian music-halls and American silent-films.Much of the settings used in Parade's plot occurred outside of the formal Parisian theater, depicting the streets of Paris. The plot reproduces various elements of everyday life such as the music hall and fairground. Before Parade, the use of popular entertainment materials was considered unsuitable for the elite world of the ballet. The plot of Parade composed by Cocteau includes the failed attempt of a troupe of performers to attract audience members to view their show. Some of Picasso's Cubist costumes were in solid cardboard, allowing the dancers only a minimum of movement. The score contained several noise-making instruments (typewriter, foghorn, an assortment of bottles, pistol, and so on), which had been added by Cocteau (somewhat to the dismay of Satie). It is supposedthat such additions by Cocteau showed his eagerness to create a succès de scandale, comparable to that of Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps which had been premiered by the Ballets Russes some years before, and caused no less scandal.Although Parade was quite revolutionary, bringing common street entertainments to the elite, being scorned by audiences and being praised by critics, nonetheless many years later Stravinsky could still pride himself in never having been topped in the matter of succès de scandale. The ragtime contained in Parade would later be adapted for piano solo and attained considerable success as a separate piano piece. The finale is a rapid ragtime dance in which the whole cast [makes] a last desperate attempt to lure the audience in to see their showThe premiere of the ballet resulted in a number of scandals. One faction of the audience booed, hissed, and was very unruly, nearly causing a riot before they were drowned out by enthusiastic applause. Many of their objections were focused on Picasso's cubist design, which was met with cries of sale boche.Prestidigitateur chinois (Chinese Conjuror) is no 1 in the ballet, and includes some of the odd percussion : sirens in addition to normal orchestral perc. The piece can be performed without percussion....but the percussion gives it an extra something!!

One faction of the audience booed, hissed, and was very unruly, nearly causing a riot before they were drowned out by enthusiastic applause. Many of their objections were focused on Picasso's cubist design, which was met with cries of sale boche. Petite Fille Americaine  (Young American Girl) is no 2 in the ballet, and includes some of the odd percussion : typewriter and gunshots, in addition to normal orchestral perc.It also includes the Ragtime Dance which became very popular in it's own right. The piece can be performed without percussion....but the percussion gives it an extra something!!
