Piano,Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - SKU: A0.1155647 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Folk,March,Opera,Romantic Period. Score and part. 4 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #755951. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1155647). This arrangement adapted for tenor saxophone and piano was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. The transcription remains faithful to the structure, with only one change in tone, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as being used as an activity in ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Turkish March (Op. 113) is the 4th movement of the operatic work: The Ruins of Athens, a set of incidental pieces written in 1812 by Ludwig van Beethoven, where the melody was originally written in 1809 as Theme with Six Variations for Piano, Op. 76. The work was written to accompany the play of the same name by August von Kotzebue, for the dedication of a new theater in Pest. Perhaps the best known part of the composition is the Marcia alla turca, In Latin America, this movement became known in Jean-Jacques Perrey's version (who titled it The Elephant never Forgets) since it was used as the opening theme of the successful Mexican TV comedy El Chavo del Ocho. The opening and the turkish march are often performed separately, and the other pieces in this set are not often heard.

Jmsgu3 #4888767. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.550935). Based on Prelude #1 in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1. Well suited for church meditations or school programs or recital encores. Register for free lifetime updates and revisions at www.jamesguthrie.comAve MariaAve Maria is a Catholic prayer that consequently asks for the mother of Jesus (Mary) to intercede. Charles Gounod composed a famous version of the Ave Maria. He was a French Romantic composer who overlaid a new melody on an existing Bach chord progression. The progression is from Bach’s Prelude No. 1 from Well-Tempered Clavier I. This version, as well as Schubert’s version, have become essential items at weddings, masses, and funerals.Bach OverviewFirst of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with the instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio. HistoryBach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as a court composer. StyleIt seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top.Revival Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV. VoyagerNASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Stravinsky among others. However, because Bach is so important in our music history, it contains three times more Bach that all the others combined.

Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549236). J. S. Bach BWV 508. Bist du bei mir Bach adapted this aria from a lost Stölzel opera called Diomedes. He changed the original orchestral instrumentation to soprano, strings, and continuo.  He also modified the voice-leading making it sound more like a Bach composition. The work appears as BWV 508 No. 25 in the Anna Magdalena Notebook No. 2.  Source Only a few remnants of the original opera have survived. Historians speculate that Anna Magdalena got the song from the Leipzig Opera after the bankruptcy of 1720. Chances are good, though, that the tune was a favorite of everyone in Leipzig at the time.  Lyrics When thou art near, I go with joyTo death and to my rest.O how joyous would my end be,If your fair hands      Would close my faithful eyes. - Unknown Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Piano Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1004687 Composed by Adrian Gagiu. 20th Century,Baroque,Contemporary. Score. 20 pages. Adrian Gagiu #4297891. Published by Adrian Gagiu (A0.1004687). Ten Variations for piano in G major on the bass of the Aria from J. S. Bach's Goldberg Variations, beginning directly with the first variation, which includes the theme in the bass. Neoclassical composition, with some Neo-baroque hints due to the theme, and some subtle allusions to the other great variation cycle, Beethoven's Diabelli Variations. Most of the variations are treated in invertible counterpoint (of course made easier by a more relaxed harmonic language) and, while including all the notes of the theme, transform it a lot through various moods.

Through careful arrangement, the piano seeks to capture the emotional essence and key themes of the symphony. At the beginning of the piece, the piano introduces the iconic melody with the distinctive four-note motif. With powerful chords and appropriate execution techniques, the piano conveys the energy and tension present in the original composition.Throughout the movement, the piano explores the different voices and orchestral textures, bringing to life the melodic and contrapuntal elements of Beethoven's work. Through arpeggios, virtuosic passages, and subtle dynamic variations, the piano seeks to convey the expressiveness and drama of the symphony. The piano adaptation of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony offers pianists the opportunity to delve into the nuances and complexity of this masterpiece through the possibilities of the instrument. By performing this version, pianists can challenge themselves to reproduce the emotional intensity and majesty of the symphony in a solo setting. This piano adaptation allows lovers of classical music to experience the richness and depth of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony in a more intimate and personal way, through the unique colors and expressiveness of the piano. You can find me on:Instagram: @SamuelseqYouTube: @SamuelSeqMore arrangements on: Sam'S arrangementsThanks for listening, and happy playing!

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1027336 Composed by Jeremy Goh, Daniel Cheng. Contemporary. Score and parts. 78 pages. Jeremy Goh #12125. Published by Jeremy Goh (A0.1027336). We present a work composed as a tongue-in-cheek expression of a popular street tune heard today, put through a series of 5 variations that explore different styles. It works in both a satirical as well as sophisticated manner vertically and horizontally, and uses multiple cliches that will get the audience perking up in recognition. The theme, 贺新年, is a common tune sung in Chinese New Year celebrations. In the heart of celebrating the New Year, this piece is written playable by musicians of all ages, whether in schools or as community orchestras and bands, to come together by the common celebratory notion in a work for an extended orchestra, including the saxophone and euphonium. Written by Daniel Cheng and Jeremy Goh, we hope that this season this piece can bring both laughter and reverence to the street tune, blown out of proportion in style and size. Starting the work is an atonal entry, built on tone rows and planing, legacies of Shoenberg and his contemporaries, before decomposing into an exceedingly lively statement of the theme. This is then juxtaposed beside a trip to tribal communities with interlocking rhythms and a modal distortion of the melody. From the modal mess and deviation from diatonicism, we then return to the prim and proper style of Mozart and Haydn in a short Classical variation. As if to mock its neat stature, this then is shattered with a juxtaposition beside a variation in the style of Shostakovich, modelled after the controversial Leningrad symphony, which draws on a different dimension of the theme, its banality, and propagating and emulsifying it to terrifying levels as it is distorted. Finally, a schreckenfanfare is directed marking an entry into a tribute to one of the greatest legends in music composition, with Beethoven along with its transcendental qualities of cyclism, and use of learned styles, methods of maintaining tension etc., bringing a grand ending to the 10 minute long work.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.980450 Composed by Gary Noland. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. Score. 192 pages. Freeland Publications #3246581. Published by Freeland Publications (A0.980450). Duration: ca. 90 minutes-2 hours. Quite possibly the longest set of piano variations in the entire classical music literature, with the exception, perhaps, of certain sets of variations for piano by Kaikhosru Shapurgi Sorabji. This work ends with a monstrous 35-page long fugue. In the 18th century, Bach composed the Goldberg Variations (30 variations), in the 19th century Beethoven composed the Diabelli Variations (33 variations), in the 20th century Frederic Rzewski composed The People United Will Never Be Defeated (36 variations), and now, in the 21st century, Gary Noland has composed his monumental 39 Variations on an Original Theme in F Major. (There seems to be a pattern of three variations added on for each century). This is a work for adventurous first-rate pianists! Some of the variations are self-contained and may be played separate from the whole.I'm fascinated by your variations. Perhaps a marathon performance with many pianists doing several variations? Could be interesting. RIchard Strauss would have loved it.-Jed Distler, pianist. Sheer genius!!!! Move over Bach!!!!!-Alfred Watson, composer & pianist. Very nice and exciting! I listened [to] both the parts on you tube and I was not bored at all ... impeccable technique with echos (in my opinion) from Bach, Beethoven, Satie up to contemporaries, and many others ... many compliments!!!-Sisto PalombellaOne word: monumental!-Joseph Ford, composerThis is amazing music … Wow!!!-John William BaxterBeautifully put together. Three cheers!-Scott Giles, composerThis is a remarkable set of variations, not only for the immensely imaginative treatment of the theme but also for the vast array of stylistic influences incorporated into the score. One need only listen to five minutes to appreciate the craftsmanship!-Lenny Cavallaro, composerI'm enjoying this very much. I liked the intellectual rigor that underlies it.-John Melcher, composerAmazing work!-Rudolf SchmittLink to Section One: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JQYgBiP388Link to Section Two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjQLOoPGvII&t=1025s

Score and Parts. 19 pages. Jmsgu3 #806801. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1208721). 2. Scherzo: Allegro.Beethoven's Bagatelles Op. 33 are quite typical of his early style, retaining many compositional features of the early Classical period.  The first bagatelle in particular is arguably one of Beethoven's most well-known pieces. While they may seem light-hearted and not to be taken too seriously, they are still well-crafted works that embody the younger Beethoven's style. The Bagatelles Op. 33 were composed by Beethoven in 1801-02 and published in 1803. Bagatelles are shorter and less complex than sonatas, often consisting of a single movement. They were intended to be played as light entertainment or as encores at the end of a concert. The Bagatelle No. 2 of Op. 33 follows a simple ternary form, with a lively and playful Scherzo character. The piece is in the key of C major and is written in 2/4 time signature. The A section is characterized by a catchy and rhythmic melody that is repeated twice, with slight variations in the second repetition. The B section, in the relative key of A minor, provides a contrast to the A section with a more lyrical and expressive melody. The B section is also repeated twice, with slight variations in the second repetition. The A section returns in its original form to close the piece. The piece is relatively simple in terms of harmony and texture, with a clear melody and accompaniment. However, Beethoven's use of repetition, variation, and elaboration creates a sense of unity and coherence throughout the piece.

Woods Only, Arrangements #750618. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1150443). This arrangement adapted for tenor sax duo was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music.

The A section is characterized by a rhythmic motif that is repeated throughout the piece, while the B section develops a lyrical melody that modulates briefly to the dominant: C major.
