Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1380143 By Scott Bussen. By Scott Bussen. Arranged by Jon Burr. Comedy,Multicultural,Pop,Traditional,World. 17 pages. Scott Bussen #964855. Published by Scott Bussen (A0.1380143). “Ode to a Cow†is a poem written over 100 years ago. While the original author of the poem will probably remain unknown, or questioned, the anonymity of the work sets it apart. Dozens of poets from the time could have penned its lines. As a composer and songwriter for many years, I see these old anonymous poems as a means to time-travel and collaborate with the poets of yore and provide my own musical interpretations of their works. This poem literally turned itself into a song on its own in just a few minutes - chords, melody, etc. This was 20 years ago and with each performance the song takes on new meaning. In a choral setting, the lines becomes even more nuanced. Each choir will interpret the piece differently. The punchline, or hook, is delivered five times and the complex simplicity within the text gently urges the whims of the choir for interpretation. This energy is certainly capable of extending far beyond the audience’ ears and facilitates the stirring of one’s imagination. Complex questions, simple advice - presented by the voices of a choir.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1377044 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. Score. 61 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #961650. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.1377044). I came across Douglas R. Hofstadter's book Gödel, Escher, Bach when I was a doctoral student at Harvard University, 1977-81. I guess I bought it because I saw the name Bach on its cover. I have to confess however that I was unable to go through it all; the Gödel theorems and others were beyond my elementary knowledge of math and science. Early this summer I accidentally found an article in The Atlantic about a conversation between Sami Al-Suwailem and Professor Hofstadter regarding a question that the former presented to the LLM (large-language-model), ChatGPT: Why Did I Write GEB? NB: GEB is an acronym of Gödel, Escher, Bach. The conversation between them about ChatGPT was hilarious; basically Hofstadter said ChatGPT is ridiculously clumsy and inept. I, on the other hand, immediately thought: wouldn't it be fun to set excerpts of the GEB text in a song cycle for tenor and piano?I wrote to Prof. Hofstadter and he was enthusiastic about my idea of a GEB song cycle and encouraged me to go ahead. After reading through the tome of 700-plus pages (and skimming through the over my head mathematical parts), I came up with eight paragraphs of texts which I set to music.1. A Fugue is ...2. Fishes and Scales ...3. Bach and Cage ...4. The Carroll Dialogue ...5. Crab Canon ...6. The Brain's Ants ...7. Is 15 wondrous, or unwondrous?8. The Origin of Life ...

Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1105037 By David Kai. By David Kai. Arranged by David Kai. Christian,Contemporary,Rock. Full Performance. Duration 239. David Kai #708281. Published by David Kai (A0.1105037). This song is a reflection on Psalm 46. Like many Psalms, it contains elements of questioning, challenge and finally, faith. It is written in a Contemporary Christian/Christian Rock style. BE STILL AND KNOW (Psalm 46) BE STILL AND KNOW Chorus: Be still and know that I am God, Be still and know that I am God Be still and know that I am, Be still and know that I am God You are the Word beyond all words, a holy mystery, A presence in the universe that I can’t touch or see, A force in space and time with no beginning and no end, A spark of inspiration that I cannot comprehend. In a world that’s so embraced by pain how can Your love be shown? In life that’s short and fleeting, can eternity be known? My questions have no answers for I’ve painted You too small, So I will cease my babbling and worship You in awe. Be still and know that I am God, Be still and know that I am God Be still and know that I am, Be still and know that I am God Our God’s a refuge and our strength, and so we will not fear, Though mountains shake and waters roar our God is always near, God makes the wars to cease and breaks the bow, the shield, the spear, Behold the works of God whose reign of peace will dry all tears. You are the glints of sunlight through the amber-dappled leaves, You are the hints of silence in the vows that lovers breathe, You are the one who awes me with the love that we receive, You are my first and dying breath, in You I will believe. Be still and know that I am God...

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818342 Composed by Darlene Zschech. Arranged by Stephen R. Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Contemporary,Sacred. Score. 18 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #6252777. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818342). The Potter’s Hand ♫ by Darlene Zschech ♫ with Spirit of God Descend Upon My Heart (lyrics by George Croly, melody MORECAMBE by Frederick C Atkinson) ♫ piano solo arrangement by Stephen R Dalrymple♫ With the images of the potter, the clay, and the pottery vessel, Isaiah answers the age-old question “What claim does God have on my life?†Nothing we see, hear, taste, smell, or feel would exist without the Creator. Neither you nor I would or could exist without Him. As a painter, sculptor, composer, designer etc. creates a masterwork for his or her own purposes, so we have a purpose beyond ourselves and our existence. ♫ But the images in Isaiah of the potter go beyond the functionality of the created objects, and the purpose and rights of the artisan. Darlene Zschech brings out the beauty and glory of being the masterwork of a true artist. ♫ A song of commitment and consecration, we need songs like this in our repertoire of worship, to urge us to go beyond the words of worship to the giving of our lives in worship. ♫ If our current worship music wasn’t so disposable, we’d be singing this song for many years to come. ♫ slide presentation by Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ This .pdf file includes 2 files: 1) Letter size piano score 2) Small page piano score for performing from a 10 inch tablet. Popular Orchestral Excerpt Etudes For Double Bass: Expanded Ensemble Packet

Double Bass - Digital Download SKU: A0.1314900 Composed by Andrew Cody Williams and Jeff Bradetich. Classical,Instructional. Educational Exercises. 100 pages. Andrew Cody Williams #903659. Published by Andrew Cody Williams (A0.1314900). THIS IS NOT THE STANDARD PACKET. Within the Expanded Ensemble Packet, parts 3 and 4 expand on the accompaniment. While they are not needed for performance, they do fill spaces and provide more to the ensemble musically to create a trio or quartet. A score is also included“Popular Orchestral Excerpt Etudes For Double Bass†is a collection of 9 etudes written by Andrew Cody Williams and Jeff Bradetich from the pedagogical analysis of some of the most common orchestral excerpts in double bass repertoire including Beethoven Symphony 5 Scherzo and Trio, Brahms Symphony 2, Mahler Symphony 2, Mozart Symphony 40, Bach Orchestral Suite 2 Badinerie, Strauss Ein Heldenleben, Schubert Symphony 9 “Greatâ€, and Mendelssohn Symphony 4. Before you buy, try the FREE DEMO PACKET by contacting ExcerptEtudesBass@gmail.comThe focus of these excerpt etudes is as follows:Sequential Instruction- Taking a challenge one step at a time creates a manageable challenge without becoming overwhelmed. When a student meets successful attempt after successful attempt while gradually increasing difficulty, they are motivated to learn and are less likely to reinforce unwanted outcomes.Context- Practicing anything without understanding where it fits in the bigger picture is asking for failure. Accompanying parts to the etudes have been written to assist the learner through tempo consistency, performing other instrumental parts, and expanding beyond the provided excerpt.Ensemble- Performing with others improves intonation and listening, constructive teamwork, and can be a lot of fun. Four bass parts have been written for the etude in a layered accompaniment to keep the size of the ensemble flexible. Within the Standard Packet, part 1 is the etude itself, taking sections of the excerpts and practicing them in different ways to improve the original excerpt. Part 2 provides the most important accompanying music, allowing the etude to be practiced and performed with just two players. This is especially useful in private lessons, as the teacher can accompany the student as they wish. Within the Expanded Ensemble Packet, parts 3 and 4 expand on the accompaniment. While they are not needed for performance, they do fill spaces and provide more to the ensemble musically to create a trio or quartet. Other resources are provided within the excerpt etudes as well. A score is included in the Expanded Ensemble Packet with all four parts to allow easy comparison and study of each etude. The original excerpts are included in the Standard Packet as well, allowing the student to actively see where each rehearsal letter practice section derives from. An analysis of each rehearsal letter is offered defining the problem in question, as well as a practice solution and occasional extra tips. Finally, a difficulty rating sheet is provided to approximate the difficulty of each part.

Double Bass - Digital Download SKU: A0.1314897 Composed by Andrew Cody Williams and Jeff Bradetich. Classical,Instructional. Educational Exercises. 61 pages. Andrew Cody Williams #903655. Published by Andrew Cody Williams (A0.1314897). â??Popular Orchestral Excerpt Etudes For Double Bassâ? is a collection of 9 etudes written by Andrew Cody Williams and Jeff Bradetich from the pedagogical analysis of some of the most common orchestral excerpts in double bass repertoire including Beethoven Symphony 5 Scherzo and Trio, Brahms Symphony 2, Mahler Symphony 2, Mozart Symphony 40, Bach Orchestral Suite 2 Badinerie, Strauss Ein Heldenleben, Schubert Symphony 9 â??Greatâ?, and Mendelssohn Symphony 4.

Published by Abundant Silence (A0.1260605). SPIRALS IN THE SKY, BY MARTHA HILL DUNCANFOR SOLO PIANO, LATE INTERMEDIATE, 21 PAGES.....................................In this whimsical marriage of astronomy and music, my husband,  astrophysicist, Dr. Martin Duncan and I have combined our talents to celebrate the beauty of the night sky and the magic of music. M.H. DuncanMartha Hill Duncan’s passion for music started early, inspired by her mother, who sang and played the piano by ear. Martha was a member of the first graduating class of the Houston High School for Performing and Visual Arts and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition from the University of Texas at Austin. Her piano works have been inspired, at least in part, by her long-time career as a piano teacher and some of these pieces, as well as her art songs, appear in educational publications and syllabi. Piano collection titles include The Sunken Garden, Isla Vista Suite, Precipitations, Angular Measures, Limestone Etchings, Rainy Days and Cottage Days. Since moving from the United States to Canada, many of her compositions have been inspired by Canadian landscapes and texts. In January 2014, her youth opera, Searching the Painted Sky, with poet/librettist Janet Windeler Ryan, was premiered at the National Opera Association Convention in New York City. She was named a finalist for the 2020 Louis Applebaum Award.A former piano examiner for the Royal Conservatory of Music, she is also a founding member of Red Leaf Pianoworks, a self-publishing composers’ collective. Originally from Houston, Texas, Martha and her husband Martin have lived in Kingston, Ontario since 1988. She also conducts the women’s choir She Sings! and has two grown children and two granddaughters. To explore more of her music, please visit www.marthahillduncan.comDr. Martin Duncan was born in London, England and was raised in Montreal, Canada. As a child, his biggest question was, “What would happen if...?†His first experiments involved creating foul-smelling concoctions with his chemistry set in hisparents’ basement. He survived and went on to complete an Honours Physics degree at McGill University, followed by graduate degrees in astronomy at the Universities of Toronto and Texas at Austin. Post-doctoral research was performed at Cornell University, the University of Toronto and the University of California, Santa Cruz. In 1988, he became a professor of astronomy and physics at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. In his academic career he has co-authored over 120 scientific papers, which have been cited over 8,000 times. He has presented numerous invited talks at international scientific conferences and has been the guest speaker at many public lectures. His research has ranged from the study of black holes to simulations of the formation and orbital evolution of planets and comets. He is best known for the prediction of the existence of a disk of small icy bodies beyond Neptune, which he and his colleagues called the Kuiper Belt. In 1996, the International Astronomical Union named Asteroid 6115 “martinduncan†in honor of his contributions to planetary dynamics.

Albinoni Sonata per Pisendel in B flat major
Small Ensemble Cello,Harpsichord,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.890771 Composed …
(+)
Small Ensemble Cello,Harpsichord,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.890771 Composed by Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni. Arranged by Sneakwood Editions. Baroque,Classical. Score and parts. 8 pages. Sneakwood Editions #4782289. Published by Sneakwood Editions (A0.890771). While in Venice, Pisendel met another of the great Italian composers of the time, Tomaso Albinoni. Albinoni, too, was captivated by the young virtuoso, to the extent that Pisendel returned to Dresden with three sonatas for violin and continuo copied by the Italian master himself. But, although we can assume that all three sonatas were dedicated in some way to Pisendel, it is the Sonata for violin and continuo in B flat Major that bears a special dedication on its frontispiece: Sonata a Violino solo di me Tomaso Albinoni Composta p[er] il Sig:[re] Pisendel. And not only this dedication but also certain musical aspects lead us to believe that the sonata in question may have been written specifically for Pisendel. The sonata goes beyond Albinoni’s usual technical requirements, exploring the upper register of the violin in a way that appears only rarely in other sonatas by this Italian. And, in the second movement, marked Allegro, we find an unusual and virtuoso use of triple stops in a fast semi-quaver rhythm. This singular effect is used by Albinoni in only one other work, the Concerto for violin and strings in C Major Co2, although with a strange and interesting nuance: of the versions of the concerto that remain we find this technique only in a manuscript version in Dresden, the version that Pisendel brought back from Italy in 1717 together with the sonata. Other versions of the concerto, such as the one published by Roger around 1717, or other manuscript versions do not contain the triple-stop passages. This suggests that they may be a personal touch added by Albinoni in recognition of Pisendel’s remarkable performing skills.

Other songs are Gagarin (Beyond Blue Sky), Space Race (To Every Question) and The Children of the World (July 1969). More information at https://glynlehmann.com/Space-RaceThe Apollo 11 mission was the culmination of years of dedication and experimentation in the attempt to land a man on the moon. This song traces the tense journey back home to Earth made by the Apollo 11 astronauts as they leave the moon's surface - ultimately returning as heroes. The subdued drama of the verses climaxes with the gospel-influenced triumph of the choruses.https://youtu.be/oAUjyzccdhMApollo 11 (Homecoming)Words by Phil Cummings, Music by Glyn LehmannVerse 1Time to leave Tranquillity BaseFor the finish line the end of the raceMoon-dusted suits, deep black skiesOn a dark horizon see Earth riseA cargo of rocks, soil and dustStrapped in the module, feel the thrustChorus 1 After days and days of being aloneThe astronauts were coming homeThey were coming home After days and days of being aloneThe astronauts were coming homeThey were coming home Verse 2The module falls, the angle is rightAnd the heat shield is burning brightInterludeRadio silence into the atmosphereNo voice of calm, no voices to hear Those that wait on the groundHold their breath, don’t make a soundThen from the silence a voice is clearCalling for the world to hearControl room erupts with shouts and cheersHigh in the sky the module appearsChorus 2This is the homecoming, this the homecomingThose brave men are coming, coming homeAfter days and days of being aloneThe astronauts were coming homeThey were coming home After days and days of being aloneThe astronauts were coming homeThey were coming home CodaHome, they were homeOur homeLyrics © 2018 Phil Cummings

Handbell - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1308213 Composed by American folk melody from Southern Harmony 1835. Arranged by Cheryl (Sutton) Baker - Bronze:FX. 19th Century,Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious. Score. 4 pages. Bronze:FX #897453. Published by Bronze:FX (A0.1308213). The arrangement is for 5, 6, 7, or 8 ringers using two octaves of handbells or handchimes. Assignments are included according to the quantity of ringers, and the piece is Level 2 when played with seven or eight ringers. This piece may also be performed by four- or six- in-hand ensembles without tables.Combining flowing lines with block chords, this arrangement of the familiar hymn tune is reminiscent of a music box. The melody is played both in the bass and the treble lines, and the easy rhythms never advance beyond the eighth note value. Every ringer is kept busy with lots of ringing, LV, some shakes, and minimal accidentals. There are a two gathering points where the ringers regain those who are lost or no longer together with the group's rhythm. On Jordan's stormy banks I stand, and cast a wishful eyeTo Canaan's fair and happy land, where my possession lie.I am bound for the promised land. I am bound for the promised land.Oh, who will come and go with me? I am bound for the promised land.– lyrics by Samuel Stennet, 1787The piece has a lovely reoccurring pattern that bridges the verses. There are two verses in all, and each one has a fermata (hold) on the question Oh, who will come and go with me?Performance time:• 2 minutes, 30 seconds.

Small Ensemble Piano,Violin,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1014249 Composed by Michael Matlock. Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 32 pages. Michael Matlock #6205073. Published by Michael Matlock (A0.1014249). The World Is Too Big is a song cycle initially written for a performance at Earth Day 2017 by the TangleTown Trio. The song cycle has four tunes. Mother Earth, the first, is a humorous attempt to answer the question of what our relationship is with nature. Next is What Do You See When You See The Mountains? which asks us to look beyond the thing we’re looking at and see what it really means. This is followed by Behold The Mighty River, an Ogden Nash-y poem that says the opposite. Finally, the cycle ends with If I Had Just One Complaint, a total rip-off of a Stephen Sondheim tune I’m sure. Range is not specified, but this was origianlly performed by mezzo-soprano.

String Ensemble,String Trio - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576736 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 7 pages. David Warin Solomons #119391. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576736). Mysterious piece in octatonic mode, originally written for the short story The Door The pdf file contains score and parts. The sound sample is an electronic preview. High up on the grassy hill behind the town there is a door. It stands there in its frame with nothing before or behind it. It is locked shut. There is no key. We climb the hill each day. We play each side of the door, games of hide and seek. But we cannot go through the door. Each day we go there during this long sultry summer holiday. We are fascinated by the structure. Why would anyone put a door up there, in its frame, eternally locked, with nothing before or behind it? Maybe it is all that remains of an ancient house? We play, we wonder, we laugh and play, and we return regularly to our homes in time for tea. Then, one day, as we climb the hill for the umpteenth time, a lady dressed in white arrives before us. We watch her take the key out of her bag and insert it in the lock. We are too far downhill to catch up before she closes the door behind her. As we arrive, puffing and panting, Steve knocks on the door. No answer. Dave knocks on the door more forcefully. We hear a distant swish of robes. Gloria knocks, perhaps a little more timidly as the swishing sound approaches. Estelle begins to knock in her turn and the door suddenly opens wide. We all gasp as we see the lady standing there in glistening robes. Her face is hidden from view by a white shawl, but her piercing eyes still show. Children, she says, welcome all. Do come in, please, the kettle is on. You are just in time for tea. We hesitate, as well we might. How can we come in when there is nothing before or behind the door? But Estelle puts one foot inside and looks back at us with a curious expression of serenity on her face. We follow her. We look around at the new space beyond the door and at the parquet floor beneath our dew-soaked feet. As our eyes become accustomed to the brightness of the interior we catch sight of many signs of the world we have entered, but only fleetingly. They pass before our eyes in an instant and then flee beyond the range of sight. There is a staircase, a hat stand, a distant gleam of an ancient cooker, a faint whiff of scones and boiling jam. As we walk inside, our senses are overwhelmed with the new reality, we are rooted to the spot. Do please sit down, says the lady with a slight catch in her throat. We are seated on wooden chairs along one side of an oak table, although we cannot recall how we got there, some slip of the memory perhaps. We have no sense of foreboding, Estelle's serenity has passed to all of us. We can stay here eating scones and jam until the end of time. The lady removes her shawl and reveals a face as beautiful as anyone's mother's. Her deep black eyes glisten like obsidian. She beams a smile of welcome and pours the tea. I'm glad you have come. I've been expecting you, she begins. You must have a thousand questions, so do please ask away. Well, says Steve, what is this door that we passed through? Is this another world? There is no other world, the lady replies, this is the only one. But there is! There is! starts Dave excitedly, Look!. He gets up quickly from the chair, knocking it over in his haste and rushes to the door to open it. He pulls at it with all his force and reveals a black nothingness behind it. We were on the hill, where's it gone? he shouts, what have you done to it? There is no hill. But you climbed the hill in front of us says Gloria. There is no hill. Even Estelle of the serene demeanour is beginning to look worried. How did we get here then, how did you get here, she asks the lady nervously. We have all been here since the beginning of time, the catch in the lady's throat is becoming more evident. No, we have our families down there in the town cries Estelle You have no families,.
