This solo feature for a quintet's trumpeter or cornetist is from the Golden Age of concert bands at the turn of the 20th century composed by legendary Sousa Band soloist Hebert L. Clarke. Clarke's impressive setting of Carnival of Venice remains the most frequently performed version of the theme and variations cornet solo first made famous by Arban. To contrast the cornet soloist's pyrotechnics is a humorous trombone and tuba accompaniment that enlivens the listening experience. A flugelhorn/trumpet alternate part is provided for the horn part. Transposed to make it most suitable for the bass clarinet this arrangement tests the range of the bass both right down to low C# and into upper registers in the middle to give a striking contrast in tone. For ambitious trumpeters who want to expand their solo repertoire and technique, this 60-page collection (solo parts only, no keyboard accompaniment), of Three Famous Baroque Works for Two Trumpets by Italian composers Vivaldi, Manfredini and Franceschini who wrote brilliantly exciting music for solo trumpets, provides study and performance editions for the three most frequently performed and recorded trumpet duo works of the Baroque era. A different and beautiful arrangement made by José Maria Silva for Guitar Quintet .*Two-voice melody and accompaniment with chords and a bass guitar-style line. *A small rhythm section with instruments characteristic of Brazil used in Bossa can be added.“Manhã de Carnaval (Carnival Morning), often referred to as Black Orpheus, is a song by Brazilian composer Luiz Bonfá and lyricist António Maria.Manhã de Carnaval appeared as a principal theme in the 1959 Portuguese-language film Orfeu Negro by French director Marcel Camus. The film's soundtrack also included songs by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes, as well as the composition by Bonfá Samba de Orfeu. Manhã de Carnaval appears in the film, including versions sung or hummed by both the principal characters (Orfeu and Euridice), as well as an instrumental version, so that the song has been described as the main musical theme of the film. In the portion of the film in which the song is sung by the character Orfeu, portrayed by Breno Mello, the song was dubbed by Agostinho dos Santos. The song was initially rejected for inclusion in the film by Camus, but Bonfá was able to convince the director that the music for Manhã de Carnaval was superior to the song.

This Americana brass band era two-movement virtuoso solo for E-flat cornet or trumpet from 1871 features a quintet trumpeter accompanied by traditional brass band instruments B-flat cornet, E-flat alto horn, baritone/euphonium and tuba. Included is alternate B-flat cornet for the E-flat solo cornet, alternate B-flat cornet for E-flat alto horn, alternate F horn for E-flat alto horn, and trombone can substitute for baritone/euphonium. The sound file is an actual brass quintet performance of the entire arrangement and not a computer playback of the score.
