The collection is suitable for students of c.4-5 years of playing experience, or those of grades 3-4 level (UK and Commonwealth). Giovanni Gabrieli's Canzon per Sonar Noni Toni � 8 (Ch. 173) is an instrumental work in 8 parts (2 choirs antiphonal) composed in 1597 as part of a collection of 45 motets titled Sacrae Symphoniae. These works were performed in St. Marks Basilica after Gabrieli returned to Venice to become the principal organist there and propelled him to become recognized as one of Europe's leading composers.

The instrumental works of the Sacrae Symphoniae have been cherished by brass performers for many years now. This new arrangement by Damiano Drei has been carefully edited for modern instruments with minimal changes and includes substitute parts to allow the performance of this glorious work by 8 or more advanced performers.

Instrumentation is for: 4 Trumpets in B-flat, Horn in F, 2 Trombones and Tuba. Alternate parts are written for Horns in F and Trombone).

Bach's Badinerie from Suite No. 2, BWV 1067 is one of the most well-known Baroque melodies and has become a real show-piece for many instruments. The meaning of "badinerie" comes from the French word badiner "to jest". This lively dance is a perfect solo to add as an encore to a concert or recital.

Keith Terrett has arranged this movement in various formats for Trumpet solo and Piano, this one being in the lowest key of D minor with no range or endurance problems at all and perfect for the moderately advanced performer.

Earl of Oxford's March is one of the most well known of the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book, the collection of over 300 keyboard works from the Elizabethan period of the 16th Century. Mr. Denroche's excellent arrangement for standard brass quintet of 2 Trumpets in C, Horn in F, Trombone (bass clef) and Tuba is appropriate for advanced performers and is about 3 minutes in length.?

Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott (Our God is a secure fortress), BWV 80 is a church cantata based on Martin Luther's that Bach composed for Reformation Day around the year 1723. This movement Aria and Chorale is the second movement of the cantata. The Euphonium/Trombone part performs the bass solo and the Trumpet 1 part performs the Soprano/Oboe solo which is the Chorale itself in an embellished style of the melody. Justin Bland has done a superb job of arranging this beautiful movement of about 4.5 minutes in length for moderately advanced performers. Instrumentation is: Trumpet 1 (C and B-flat parts are provided), Trumpet 2/Flugelhorn in B-flat, Horn, Euphonium/Trombone in bass clef and Tuba.?

Jay Hull has crafted a very fine work for brass quintet in the Canzona style of Gabrieli, based on the traditional Christmas Carol - Good King Wenceslas. The work is about 3 minutes in length and appropriate for moderately advanced performers, who are asked to choose their own dynamics. Trumpet parts in B-flat, Horn if F, Trombone in bass clef, Tubas

Robert Coulter's arrangement of Eight Duets for Euphonium and Tuba or Two Tubas by Handel is a great way to get together to play or even record yourself and play back over the track. The music can be performed by Euphonium (mostly middle register) and Tuba or with two tubas with an F Tuba on the top part.

These Eight Duets are perfect for a recital, the teaching studio, or just for fun, appropriate for intermediate to moderately advanced performers, and total about 15 minutes of great music.

Spring has sprung! Few words bring more happiness and optimism. The simple changing of one season to another has inspired some of the most famous classical music of all-time - Antonio Vivaldi?s set of four concertos, The Four Seasons.

iTromboni alumnus, Kenneth Pearce, has masterfully arranged the 1st movement of Spring (La Primavera) for trombone quintet complete with all the sparkle of the original. As each of The Four Seasons concertos originally came with a short sonnet, Ken has included some of these word cues in the score and parts so you too can celebrate while playing along to the bird?s song, the murmuring stream, and the crashing thunderstorm.

This 3 � minute Italian gem is sure to delight listeners and is suitable for advanced performers.

Ciacona (original key of F minor for organ) has been beautifully arranged for Tuba/Euphonium Quartet in G minor by Mark LaFratta. It is likely Pachelbel?s second most famous work, after the Kanon in D. As is typical for a Ciacona (Chaconne), there is a short simple tune in triple meter over a repeating bass ostinato that provides a vehicle for variation, ornamentation, and melodic invention and is somewhat similar to a passacaglia. There is a passage or two that even have hints of Bach's great Passacaglia, which didn't appear for many years in the future.

Pachelbel's Ciacona states an opening theme followed by 22 variations, the last of which is an almost exact repeat of the opening theme.

This fantastic 8-minute arrangement is appropriate for advanced performers and is scored for 2 Euphoniums and 2 Tubas.

Heinrich Sch�tz (1585-1672) wrote the Musikalische Exequien, opus 7 (SWV 279-281) for the funeral of Prince Heinrich Posthumus von Reuss (1572-1635). Prince Heinrich?s widow and sons commissioned the work upon his death and provided Sch�tz with Bible verses as the text, which were also inscribed on the prince?s coffin.

Two of the three parts of the Musikalische Exequien have been arranged for 8-part Trombone Ensemble in two different choirs. The first piece, Motet is reminiscent of Gabrieli's Sonatas. The second piece, Canticum Sineonis is dense, rich, and evokes deep spiritual suffering and loss.

Two Sacred Pieces have been exquisitely edited and arranged by Kenneth Biggs for moderately advanced performers and work very well with 2 Alto Trombones, 4 Tenor Trombones, and 2 Bass Trombones.
