Amnael Orozco-Diaz #18333. Published by Amnael Orozco-Diaz (A0.826909). Few things on this Earth are as nostalgic, soothing and wrecking at the same time as the Largo from the New World Symphony: that iconic English Horn solo, that heart-breaking C# minor melody, that sighing final solo with a lonely trio. This reduction condenses the full genius of Dvorak into a string quartet without missing a single detail, so no need for a full symphony orchestra to experience this music and take it around to your audiences! This item contains the full score for this arrangement. Duration: approx. 9:30 minutes. Ensemble Bass Clarinet - Level 4 - Digital Download By Antonin Dvorak. By Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904). Arranged by Sean Sullivan. 150, Romantic Period. 16 pages. Sean Sullivan #727171. Published by Sean Sullivan
Composed by Antonín Dvorak in 1893 while still director of the National Conservatory of Music of America, his orchestral setting of the American Spiritual Going Home is a cornerstone of the symphonic repertoire. This incredibly simple and beautiful theme has been arranged here for clarinet quintet. This second movement is introduced by a harmonic progression of chords that can be interpreted as a musical rendition of the narrative formula \"Once upon a time.\" The movement\'s middle section contains a passage in C♯ minor evoking a nostalgic and desolate mood which eventually leads into a funeral march above pizzicato steps in the bass clarinet. It is followed by a quasi-scherzo that incorporates this movement\'s theme as well as the first movement\'s main and closing themes. The Largo is concluded with the soft return of the main theme and introductory chords.

Composed by Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904). Arranged by Rob Bushnell. Romantic Period, Spiritual, TV, Native American. Piano Reduction, Sheet Music Single. 2 pages. Published by RBMusic
This arrangement is not in the original key to make it easier to play. A version in the original key is available here: S0.373007. The Czech composer Antonín Dvoand#345;ák became the director of theNational Conservatory of Music in New York City in 1892 (a post he helduntil 1895). Whilst in North America, he became fascinated by Native Americanmusic and the African-American spirituals that he heard. After a commission in1893 from the New York Philharmonic, he wrote the Symphony No. 9 in E minor,"From the New World", also known as the ?New World? Symphony ? not onlyhis most famous symphony but one of the most popular symphonies of all time. The second movement (Largo) features the famous cor anglaissolo, arranged here for solo piano. It was famously used in a British advert for the bread-brandHovis and was adapted into the spiritual-like song ?Goin? Home? by one ofDvoand#345;ák's pupils in 1922. Dvoand#345;ák explained the Native-American influences in the symphonyin an article published by the New York Herald: ?I have not actually used anyof the [Native American] melodies. I have simply written original themesembodying the peculiarities of the Indian music, and, using these themes assubjects, have developed them with all the resources of modern rhythms, counterpoint, and orchestral colour.? A recording of the ?New World? Symphony was taken along on theApollo 11 mission by Neil Armstrong in 1969.

Bass Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549430 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Instructional,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and individual part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #3494193. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549430). Score: 7 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 3 pages. Duration: 4:25 Not difficult, but requires sensitivity & dynamic control. Suitable for recitals, church meditations, or school programs.  Dvořák Background AntonÃn Dvořák (1841 –1904) was, of course, a composer from Czechoslovakia. As a matter of fact, he was among the first Bohemian composers to attain universal recognition. It is important to realize that the late Romantic Nationalist period featured composers who used traditional and folk elements to portray the character of their nation. In particular, we see this in the music of Grieg (Norway), Finland (Sibelius), and Smetana (Bohemia).  Dvořák relied markedly on rhythms and other characteristics of Moravian and Bohemian folk music. Ascent to Fame Dvořák was truly a child musical prodigy on the violin. The premiere performances of his compositions notably occurred in 1872 and 1873. He submitted his First Symphony in particular to a German competition, but it failed to win. Consequently, in 1874 he presented two more symphonies to the Austrian State Prize for Composition. Johannes Brahms was the principal of the jury and was accordingly very impressed. They forthwith awarded the prize to Dvořák in 1874, 1876, and 1877. At this point, Brahms thereupon endorsed Dvořák to the publisher Simrock. Later, the publisher commissioned Dvořák to compose the Slavonic Dances, Op. 46. These became popular overnight and, as a result, Dvořák's worldwide status was launched. International Status Dvořák visited England upon invitation nine times. On each visit, he frequently conducted performances of his own compositions. He conducted concerts of his music, especially in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Eventually, the Prague Conservatory in fact appointed Dvořák as a professor. There, to be sure, he wrote his famous Dumky Trio. United States Consequently, the National Conservatory of Music of America appointed him as director in 1892. As a result, Dvořák composed his two most famous symphonic works: the Symphony No. 9 (From the New World), which spread his name universally, and his Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, one of the most famous of all cello works. Moreover, he wrote his most celebrated American String Quartet during this time. At the same time, because of his growing recognition in Europe and his homesickness for his own country, he left to return to Bohemia in 1895.

Baritone Horn TC,Euphonium,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.552853 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Instructional,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #3494239. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552853). In particular, we see this in the music of Grieg (Norway), Finland (Sibelius) and Smetana (Bohemia).  Dvořák relied markedly on rhythms and other characteristics of Moravian and Bohemian folk music. Ascent to Fame Dvořák was truly a child musical prodigy on the violin. The premiere performances of his compositions notably occurred 1872 and 1873. He submitted his First Symphony in particular to a German competition, but it failed to win. Consequently, in 1874 he submitted two more symphonies to the Austrian State Prize for Composition. Johannes Brahms was the principal of the jury and was accordingly very impressed. They forthwith awarded the prize to Dvořák in 1874, 1876 and 1877. At this point, Brahms thereupon endorsed Dvořák to the publisher Simrock. Later, the publisher commissioned Dvořák therefore to compose the Slavonic Dances, Op. 46. These became popular overnight and, as a result, Dvořák's worldwide status was launched. International Status Dvořák visited England upon invitation all in all nine times.
