Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 1 - SKU: A0.522333 Composed by Unknown - traditional. Arranged by Paul A. Jorg. Christian,Spiritual,Traditional. Octavo. 4 pages. Paul A. Jorg #5869331. Published by Paul A. Jorg (A0.522333). This song is public domain, written in the 1850's, during a time - pre-civil war - when the nation was being torn apart. The writer calms his anxiety by holding on to God's promises. Here are some lyric notes: I am a poor, wayfaring stranger - Wayfaring: traveling especially on foot; peripatetic country preachers; a poor wayfaring stranger. Wandering through this world of woe - Matthew 18:7: Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! And there's no sickness, toil or danger - John 11:4: When he heard this, Jesus said, This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it. Ecclesiastes 2:18-19: I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me. Acts 14:22: strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God, In that bright land to which I go - James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.I'm going home to see my Father - John 6:40 - For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. I'm only going over Jordan - Joshua 22:4: Now that the LORD your God has given your brothers rest as he promised, return to your homes in the land that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side of the Jordan. Yet though dark clouds will gather round me - 2 Corinthians 12:10: That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. I know my way is rough and steep - Psalm 16:11: You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Proverbs 15:24: The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him from going down to the grave. But beauteous fields lie just before me - Numbers 13:25: We arrived in the land you sent us to see, and it is indeed a magnificient country, a land flowing with milk and honey. Where God's redeemed their vigil's keep - Exodus12:42: Because the LORD kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt, on this night all the Israelites are to keep vigil to honor the LORD for the generations to come. I'm going home to see my mother - Mark 10:29-31: I tell you the truth, Jesus replied, no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields-and with them, persecutions.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1138763 By Louise du Toit. By Louise du Toit. Arranged by Louise du Toit. Contemporary. Score. 7 pages. Louise du Toit #739065. Published by Louise du Toit (A0.1138763). Inkawu the Monkey is the thirteenth in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Inkawu the monkey is very naughty and mischievous. Having spent the morning sitting in the sun while some females searched his fur for fleas, he is now in a hilariously expressive mood. Swinging from the branches of a huge African tree, he mocks everything and everybody around him, mimicking a scornful dance with his weird movements and giving the impression of being a funny clown in a circus. When he comes across a car loaded with passengers on a narrow road between the trees, he jumps straight onto the bonnet of the vehicle, pressing his face on the front window and pulling faces to amuse the surprised audience inside. He grins when they feed him oranges through a small opening of a nearly closed window and refusing to leave, he sits on the bonnet for almost an hour, filling up his tummy and satisfying his taste buds with the juicy citrus fruits. When he finally leaps off the car, he continues his merry ragtime dance until he disappears between the trees..

B-Flat Clarinet,Medium Voice,Piano Accompaniment - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1264319 Composed by Ali Hanna, Madison Julius Cawein, and Mark Twain. 21st Century,Contemporary. 6 pages. Ali Hanna #857172. Published by Ali Hanna (A0.1264319). I wrote this piece as an epilogue (pun definitely intended) to a traumatic religious event that took place in February 2023. I won't go into details so I don't risk triggering anyone, but let's just say it was a lot. This is also the first piece I've written where the text isn't my own because my composition professor at the time challenged me to do so.The text of the first half of the piece comes from Mark Twain's poem Warm Summer Sun. It's intended to be an acceptance of the fact that the singer isn't the same person they once were. As the poem repeats, the singer begins to say goodbye to their old self and lay them to rest. The text of the second half of the piece comes from Madison Julius Cawein's poem Take Heart. I see this part as someone in the singer's life giving them hope to keep on living, and who that entity is can be interpreted in a number of ways. For me, it was the friends and professors around me that helped me keep going. I didn't talk to many people about what happened, but just seeing everyone's faces every day taught me that if they can continue living their lives, then so can I.I ended up adding the clarinet part after a moment of inspiration during my trip to the ICA ClarinetFest 2023 in Denver, Colorado. Voice and clarinet are my two passions, so I thought I would use Epilogue to put them together. This piece has yet to be premiered in its current form, but I hope to someday. If you would like to premiere it, please email me at alisonhanna29@gmail.com.

Brass Band. 41 pages. RBMusic #801860. Published by RBMusic (A0.1203187). Helping Hands is a march written for the British Bandsman March Composition Contest, entered into category 2 (marches for 3rd/4th section bands). It is dedicated to all the volunteers that make the Whit Friday March Contests possible, which is said to be the greatest free show on Earth. The piece is loosely programmatic in nature. The introduction is fanfare-like, announcing the date of the next Whit Friday Contests and the bands’ anticipation of and preparation for the event. The first section is the march of the volunteers, as they descend upon the many venues, ready to run the contests. There is the usual hustle and bustle before the second section sees the contests start. The bands strike up, march, finish and go from place to place, whilst the volunteers manage them, the audiences, and all manner of issues and problems thrown at them. The third section represents the bad weather which has, at times, presented itself on that particular Friday. But everyone carries on (possibly the sun comes out) and we enjoy the day.The trio uses the hymn St. Vincent by Sigismund Neukomm: St. Vincent de Paul is the patron saint of charities and volunteering, hence its use here. There is a small bridge that is reminiscent of previously used motifs and melodies before the hymn returns. The piece is influenced by marches that are commonly heard during the Whit Friday March Contests, using motifs, rhythms and harmonic progressions (sparingly) throughout the piece. This piece is for the UK-style brass band, includes march-card sized parts, with alternatives for horns in F and bass-clef lower brass.Other searchable terms: Delph, Denshaw, Diggle Dobcross, Friezland, Greenfield, Grotton, Lees and Springhead, Lydgate, Scouthead and Austerlands, Uppermill, Broadoak, Carrbrook, Denton, Droylsden, The Bush, Dukinfield, Tame Valley, Heyrod, Hurst Village, Ashton United FC, Stalybridge, Labour Club, Knight Templar, The Wizard, The President, Ravenswood, Honest Toil, Mephistopheles, Melphi, O.R.B., Castell Coch, Cornish Cavalier William Rimmer, T. Cello,Piano,Steel Pan,Violin - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1095566 Composed by Aaron Gage. 20th Century,Chamber,Contemporary. 38 pages. Aaron Gage #699558. Published by Aaron Gage (A0.1095566). At the time this piece was conceived, the world had fallen into chaos. We were in the midst of a vast economic crisis leaving millions in poverty, racism had once again found its foothold in the foreground of US culture, climate change had decimated the west coast in flames while southern coastal cities were being bombarded with floods from storms. We have also been forced to see the ugliness of domestic terrorists establishing themselves in the hopes of hurting their fellow citizens. However, these issues pale in comparison to the utter devastation we have faced from COVID-19. As I write this note, we are just shy of nearly a quarter of a million people having senselessly died from COVID-19. The utter failure we’ve had in leadership and lack of empathy from our fellow citizens have caused countless families to now have empty seats at their table. There was no need for this. Hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children have died from means that could have been completely preventable. When I was asked to write this piece, I wanted to come up with a simple concept as an elegy to those lost to the virus. A simple question arose; What will we say? 50 years from now, how will we answer to those younger generations while we collectively sat by and did nothing to help each other? How are we going to excuse letting the rot that has sunk in go unpunished? How do we defend the indefensible? This question haunts me. The music you will hear channels my answer to that question. There is no true resolution. There is no happy ending. When we have finally moved on past this pandemic, we are still left in the wake of hundreds of thousands of dead citizens. One day it will hit us all how many lives we really lost. So I ask this; while you listen, reflect on every individual who suffered at the hands that did not act. Allow yourself to absorb the true gravity of what we have experienced. Give those victims a few minutes of your time. When the time comes for you to be asked, what will you say?
